Disney adds a premium package to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Gee, I've met some nice "riff-raff" people. They turned out to be more enjoyable than the snobbish ones.

Yes yes, snobs suck. But I didn't come up with that "riff raff" moniker, I was mocking it. But by all means, if it makes you feel better go ahead and insist that people who don't like literally rubbing on strangers are terrible people. I'm ok with that.

We like character meals and M&Gs and don't like things like standing in a sea of sweaty people to only see the tops of parade floats. :crazy2: If that makes me a snob- so be it. :snooty:

Are there any posted reviews on this soirée? Just curious to know where exactly the viewing areas are located and if they're better than staking out a spot on Main Street.

I don't have a problem with people paying for the dining plan like you're saying verses the counter service plan, I prefer that as well. I can't say my reasons are the same as yours though, I choose it because I like the meals.

However, my trip next summer will the first in a very long time that we are not doing the full dining plan, and it has nothing to do with cost. We took my 2 year old and 1 year old (at the time) in May, the only issues we really had with them were sitting at the table for so long. Next summer we are going to avoid that as much as possible and do as much counter service meals as we can.

My point was, someone said earlier they wished Disney raised the prices so much so that others basically couldn't afford to go. I just don't agree with that comment, if the average family can't afford a Disney vacation, that just sad to me. I'd hate to deny a child from an average family that has fiscally responsible parents from going simply because some adult wants less people at Disney. That's my point.

Some people don't like crowds, neither do I, I don't like my personal space being invaded, I take steps to avoid that as much as possible as well. I just think the idea of raising prices so much that only upper middle class or upper class Americans can afford a trip is just arrogant.

Not to mention the number of people who think Disney HAS already hit that mark. Still crowded! :confused3

I concur...

And that line of thinking is indicative of a disgusting trend of the ideological rot of society due to "applauded" American consumer greed for multiple decades now.

Disney is not priced for everyone... Now ever has been. Wasn't supposed to be.
But if you go along with CMB as they turn the screws to the point where the fabric is about to break...and then he retires with his piggybank...you'll eventually be left looking pretty naive/gullible/stupid.

And then the next WSJ cheap suit will step up and run with it...

Disney is in a select group of companies that does not have to run completely to the tune of the investors whims...unlike most public companies.

You just have to reject some of this crap
And make them do it.

And it can/has happened...California adventure being the best example:
The people said "I'm not paying for this anymore"...and then they got something better for their money.
Reduce the demand, it forces modifications of the price and creates a better supply.

Econ 1

I wish they would charge for EMH. I wish they'd charge for FPs. Life at WDW would be a lot easier and more carefree if this was the case. I'm all for buying my way out of lines.

I think this is probably in the works, at least in some small way. My sister and I are in Disney's "beta testing" for a lunchtime Fast Pass for Be Our Guest Restaurant. We didn't have to pay anything, but it's an interesting concept - using your Fast Pass+ for lunch.

That test has been around for like 8 months.
