DVC Coffee Snob Thread (non snobs welcome too)

Did some more research, and I can’t find any evidence of Nespresso machines anywhere other than the fancy club level suites. Sorry…

Darn it all anyway (to quote my dad) Thanks for looking into it. Disney IT strikes again!

Don't be sorry on my account - it's welcome news to me! @VGCgroupie, do you have an Owners Locker? You could keep a Nespresso in there....
I don’t. I’m okay with crappy coffee in the room and then hunting down something more decent in the parks. I may try some of the other packable options posted in the thread. Right now we don’t go enough to justify a locker.

I signed up for OL a while ago. Still haven't ordered my first delivery!

So, unless I'm reading it wrong on there - these are just from random rooms at BWV and BC? From last year? How does DVD decide which room gets what?
Seems like it. Still jealous though. Why no DVC love.
I thought it was for suites, not regular rooms and not DVC rooms. I may have read too much into it, but I read it as one bedroom and two bedroom hotel rooms.
Yes its BWI not BWV
The picture in that post is from September 2024.
And? Are you saying that they now have boring Keurig's again?

Correct. We got upgraded to a two bedroom during a BC club level stay one time, and it had a Nespresso as well as a Keurig. The Nespresso machines are only in those big club level suites.

They know they need to cater to the hotel-suite-type people who they need to swoon into coming back multiple times vs. us peons who they know are stuck with them. Nobody considers the type of coffee makers in the rooms prior to making the decision to buy their first contract.
I cant say the coffee options (in lobby) at RIV dont play a part in my choice about it. It wasn't quite enough to push me over the edge to buy instead of BW but it was real close! But I am a bit crazy and I have a major problem when it comes to coffee.

If DVC want to swoon me, they just need to make sure I always have access to a drip/carafe style coffee maker in my room. I don't care if they add a Keurig option, a duo machine, add Nespresso...just as long as I can bring my beans and grinder and filters, and brew my own pot at my own desired strength. I hate single-serve pods as I like coffee strong, and my mug is nearly 3-cups in size!

Since we seem to have a gathering here of coffee experts and/or junkies, has anyone tried these? DH doesn’t do hot drinks at all, so I tend to rely on k-cups for park days when I know there’s no point in brewing a whole pot. But these seem like a good option to get a slightly better brew…

Edit quoted this post after checking out the item on amazon. Amazon pointedly put their basic 200 pack of basket filters right underneath at $2.35. Maybe Jeff doesn't drink coffee or won't spend excessive amounts for it.

Long time coffee 'something' here. Have owned too many higher end coffee machines as well as Tassimo, Keurig and Nespresso. My absolute favorite is a french press and it gives me the more full bodied cup that I enjoy most. That said when I'm stumbling around a hotel room at 4am, it's not going to happen. Also in general I'm a bit lazy if someone isn't right there to hand it to me.

That said to get my morning caffeine fix fairly easily, I'll drink just about anything. Not everything. I drew the line at the Grand Floridian Resort Villas. On one visit they had a keurig with Joffrey pods. Next few stops, that weird little machine and it's packets. Can't remember the name. Or don't care to bother storing that info in my brain. Also, most hotels have objectional machines and inferior coffees in the rooms. I don't frequent too many higher end spots anymore as I'm now retired and in a little rut when it comes to travel aka DVC.

My favorite beans are Jamaican Blue Mountain and Kona, but long ago I discovered that not all that have the name are actually comparable coffees. So much goes into coming from the right micro climate and ending with the roaster and it's end consumer that it's difficult to stay up to date, at least for me.

Close family and friends have rallied around Nespresso. At least I'm guaranteed 'something' when I visit.

I do use copious amounts of raw sugar and half and half. After all sugar is something I shouldn't have and coffee is my best excuse to indulge myself. Don't enjoy flavored creamers. Other than the morning cuppa, later day is tea only, no sugar, hot or iced. And I'm fine with a little box of Twinings when I arrive and walk into Epcot. As soon as I choose one I like, next trip they won't have it.

Oh, and Grand Floridian Villas had a Nespresso - the bigger one - in the lobby with pods when they first opened. Last few times, it was gone and haven't been back since 2 years (resort villas) so I don't know when it got to be just a memory. The coffee was nice even in a paper cup, when compared to the packets.

I need to fine tune my French press skills. I think maybe I let it sit too long or not long enough.
