I know I'm way behind, but gotta say it, anyway. I always considered Rags the "Boy Toy" instead of the "Fun Guy!"

We have had 7 days over 100 in the last 2 weeks. Yesterday was 103, and today is supposed to be 101. Tomorrow we are having a cold snap... only supposed to be 95! :cool1:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANA!!! (a little late!) And tell her to BE CAREFUL!!

I have been so busy lately... no time to sit and chat. No housecleaning being done, either! So now I am caught up on our thread... time to do a little laundry. Its all about the priorities!

Missed you, Kari! Hope all is well! :cutie:

"Boy Toy":rotfl2: Love it! :thumbsup2 We love you, Rags!!:lmao:

Our weather has been ROTTEN. I have Dana's class coming for a pool party tomorrow - forecast is for cloudy and 69 degrees! At least the WATER will be warm. grrr...

Renee

Hey Kari - I have been missing you!!

Liz- I still remember my first 6th grade dance, it was the same way (3:00-5:00, just 6th graders) All the boys were on one side of the gym and all the girls on the other side:rotfl:

I'm sure that's the way this one will end up too...she's all worried about not having a "date" yet...it really bothers me that 11 year olds think they need to have a date!! Ohhh...She just told me that it's $5 to get in, $2 for pizza and $1 for soda...maybe she does need a date to pay for all of that!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

..."DawnMaree ***** suggests: If you happen to have a clear plastic holder for your Keys to the World Cards, put your PhotoPass card with the scan showing through the clear plastic. Whenever you get your photo taken by a PhotoPass cast member, all the CM has to do is scan your card and it can be done without even taking the card out. After many times fumbling for our PhotoPass card, I'm so glad a CM saw me and told me about this. It sure saved some time and was so easy. I had the clear plastic holder attached to a lanyard around my neck, which made for even easier scanning!"...
woo hoo - did everyone see our famous "DawnMaree" on the "AllEars" newsletter today? :surfweb:
Way to go, DM! :goodvibes

Renee

I haven't seen that yet...Yay DM!!! You are a celebrity now!! That is a great tip...I will have to remember it next time. Thanks Renee for letting us know that we have a celebrity among us...

..

I don't like when kids that age feel the need for a "date", either!

Dana went to a few dances in grade 7 & 8 the area Catholic schools would each host one for all the schools- the girls all went together - no dates. They said hello to the boys, but the pretty much stayed to themselves. Actually - since Dana's class was so small, most of the time the 8 of them stayed together! At the 8th grade dinner dance (with parents attending), the 8 of them moved as a "pod" - they all went on the dance floor together, and they all left the dance floor together. It was extremely comical to watch!

I'm not going tomorrow. My sister and I made a deal today that if I didn't go she would get me a blackberry. Well we went to look today and our company Tmobile, well name has been changed apparently, No notice to us. Had not even half of the stock in. Just things are changing and we're not being told of it.

Thanks Renee for pointing that out to me! I had the mail up but didn't read it yet this morning. I quickly went over and saw my name. I'm all giggly now. I just sent in that tip this past week.

I hope you have better weather today and are able to have Dana's party...we'll be glad to send you some of our heat from down here! It's supposed to be over 100 again today.

Everything down here is so ugly, all of the grass is brown & we think all of our azaleas & shrubery are now dead. We have been on water restrictions since early June and we have not been able to water things enough to keep them alive. Maybe we'll get some rain soon.

We haven't been put on water restriction here yet but we're close I think. THere are some counties in major trouble here with the water drought.

I'm ready for fall but I know winter is going to be bad.

At least it's not raining - and the temp is supposed to be in the 70's today. The kids are coming from 1 - 4pm - so hopefully the rain will stay away. I won't even begin to hope that the sun will peek through!
Tomorrow I have company coming, too, and it sounds like the weather will be a bit nicer. :thumbsup2

Of COURSE, the nicest day is going to be Saturday - :cool2: sunny and 90 - but we have to go to a Freshmen Mass & Picnic at the high school - so no pool. :sad2:

Sunday we are going to my parents to celebrate my birthday early, but I think it's supposed to rain, AGAIN. grrrr.....:headache:

Come on down to NC, Were most of the state is under water restrictions and 100 counties are in some form of drought.

We've been on water restrictions all summer! And its been a mild one. And we are currently dealing with "severe thunderstorms" and tornado warnings. Wheeeee!

Yeah DM! You're famous!

Well, the weather cooperated for Dana's get together... the kids didn't mind the clouds, since the pool water was 88 degrees!! I'd post pictures, but I won't post other children's photos without parental permission, so you'll have to be satisfied with 2 pictures of the "Lifeguard". :goodvibes

I hope the storms are over and your weather wasn't too bad!!

I'm glad that you were able to have the party and the kids got to enjoy the pool!! Your lifeguard looks ready to jump into action...hopefully he didn't have to though!! Very cute pics!!

My comment on the heat... we had a cold snap today... only got in the mid 90's! :scared: Around here the water restrictions are pretty severe. If they suspect that you are filling/refilling a swimming pool, they will measure it routinely and fine you. No carwashing. Water lawns for 30 min in early AM or late PM every other day.

Well... my day sucked from start to finish! We have 1 car in the shop right now, so Wynn drove the Camaro to work, and broke down. We had planned to buy a car in Oct, but now we will be doing that this weekend. Not a huge catastrophe, but I wanted my Labor Day vacation out of the way before I took on another payment. Spent most of the day car shopping online, and getting pre-approved for financing. Then, this afternoon Avery had a bike wreck, and has major road rash on her left elbow... about the size of my fist. She was still fussing about it when she went to bed 4 hours later, will not straighten her arm, and cries hard when I try to look at it. SO... now I am trying to figure out if she is that tired, if the rash hurts that badly, or if I should take her for Xrays in the AM. I am starting to wonder if she cracked her elbow. This is the same child who broke her foot 18 months ago in a bounce house. The Dr is going to start questioning me!

Oh Kari, I'm sorry that you had such a bad day. Hopefully Avery will be feeing much better & able to straighten her arm when she wakes up in the morning. Let us know how she is doing and what kind of car you end up getting.

I am thinking I will go move it while she is asleep. If it is broken, she'll wake up crying. If not, she'll never know, and I can sleep better. It doesn't really look swollen, but the bruises are starting to show up. Problem is she is very "squooshy" so swelling is hard to see. I found her pic with her broken foot, and had to share. This was a year ago May.

Awww...poor Avery!
(and poor Kari, too! :sad1: )

Let us know how things are this morning. If she's still fussing, why not bring her to the pedicatrican, and let him determine if an ER visit is necessary? Nothing is worse than an ER in a non-life-threatening emergency. You could wait FOREVER. :scared:

Good luck and keep us posted! :grouphug:

Renee

No broken bones that I can tell... mainly bruises and sore muscles. This AM she was moving it better. Gauze and ibuprofen! We have a pediaric ER, so they are usually pretty quick to get you seen, and you don't have to wait with the sickos! BUT... they are so expensive! Last year the bill was $1100 to have a popcorn kernal removed from Tucker's ear! (Boys... :sad2: ) With my kids, we keep the orthopedist on speed dial! Tucker has had X-rays twice, and Avery 3 times!

Poor Avery! I hope its nothing. That is an adorable picture though!

Renee, glad to hear the party was a go.

We had severe weather out here but it wasn't bad at our place. Only one tornado warning but it was over rather quick. Severe storms but none of the damage in other areas of Chicago. We got lucky.
