I'll add another funny thing about the CM yesterday that I dealt with dining for, it seemed she was trying to get me to move my CP to lunch or dinner.

Ok. Now I'm feeling left out. Gee, the peer pressure is on! Everyone has one! I want one Too!! <insert whine here>

The schools here have programs where you can rent to own your instrument. However they are student quality - which is okay for say grades 5-7... then they need something with a little better quality if they want to continue. We have a music company here that has a big sale every year. We rented Daniel a student alto sax for the first year - to make sure he liked it - then we put out the big bucks and bought a professional sax... to rent it was $50 / month or $500 for the year (other insturments cost less) - we got a great deal at the music store sale and bought him a $2600 sax for $1800 - he has been playing for 4 years now - one year rental the others with his owned sax... so for the next four years of high school we are ahead of the game...

Maggie private teacher also is an instructor at Ithica College... she had a student there who wanted to sell her flute to buy a picalo... it is sterling silver - about $1400 retail and we were able to get it for $300. It is an open hole flute which was a little challenging when she started playing as her fingers were not quite big enough - but now its great... I would recommend using school instuments for Marching Band though - the rain and dampness do a number on the pads of your instruments and they can be expensive to repair.

I wouldn't suggest buying a instrument until they have played for a year though... just to make sure they like it!!!

Thanks!! I don't think our school has a rental program but we'll find out for sure Tuesday night. They have 2 instrument try out nights one next week and one in the middle of August. I chose this one so we could be looking over the summer for a good used instrument and then if we can't find one we will go to the music store and probably rent to own starting in the fall.

Ugh. I'm sitting here wasting time. I'm supposed to be at work at 9:00 and here it is almost 8:30 and I'm sitting at the computer in my jammies! :surfweb: I have no motivation to do anything other than think about/plan our trip! I really need someone to come smack some sense into me... what the heck am I going to do with myself once the trip is over! :scared1:

OK, seriously, I'm going to go get dressed and drag myself to work, where I shall no doubt immediately log on to the DIS and continue to waste time! :rotfl2:

Isn't it great to be popular?

Oh thank you! I'm popular. I'm really popular!! :rotfl2: And dd will be thrilled! I have Pink hair and a cinderella dress! LOL

Is it me, or does Crazy K look like "MOTHER GOOSE"???? :goodvibes

I thought the same thing. :goodvibes

Ummm. Plan your next trip, right? :confused3 That's what I'm gonna be doing! :rotfl:

Well, I really should be off taking the kids to the library. Our library here does "vacation packs" to take with you on vacation. Makes me a little nervous but I'm gonna try it and see what they send. Its supposed to be books and "other stuff". I can't wait to see what it is.

So, next week we can all say we are going to Disney this month. I'm so excited! I just wish I knew where we were staying! :scared1:

Courtney - I didn't like your other scary doll so I redid it....still the southern belle, of course!
