We just posted profiles of 10 of the "Known 13" on the LA Times travel blog.

Would somebody be so kind as to post the link in this DISboards thread.

As a newbie, I don't have linking privileges yet.

Thanks,
Brady MacDonald / Los Angeles Times staff writer + theme park blogger

Thanks! The profiles were a lot of fun to read. :thumbsup2

Hey, Amanda: You literally live down the street from my family. (We're about 10 minutes north of Gaithersburg.) "it's a small world"... :)

Ok... then lets get revved back up for the Mega Millions. The jackpot is $220 million on Tuesday night!!!

So... I'm upping the stakes and upping the entry requirements:

If you enter and I hold the winning ticket... you will receive the following (changes in bold):

7 Days 6 Nights at Deluxe Resort for you and 5 guests (more if your family is bigger)
7 Day Park Hoppers with Water Park Options
Dining plan with Wine and Dine Option
$2,500 toward airfare (so you can go first class, as is your birthright!)
$5,000 spending money

This will take the prize up to... well... alot more! (Guessing in the $20,000 range since it will take two rooms to hold all those people.)

Bigger prize means bigger entry requirement. You have to do two things:

1. Go to erickidwell.net and send me an email via the front page of the site. In your email, include a joke to cheer me up for being 12th out of 13 in Brady's ratings.

2. Become a part of The Penny Project. You need to pass out three "lucky days" To do this, just leave three pennies in high traffic areas, even around your house. Just make sure they are heads up! The idea is that when somebody finds the penny, they will feel lucky. Get it?

Anyway... get those jokes in to me by Tuesday at 11PM EST to enter. I'll post the Disney friendly ones here. The Penny Project part of the entry is on the honor system. (Edit: don't forget to give me your DIS screen name if I don't already have it)

Awww Flea - can I just say I'm in on here? It is waaaay past my bedtime and I have to catch up here before I can go to bed. lol

Kenny,

I'm sorry to hear what you and your friends family are going through. It is great that you have been there for the family. I will certainly be praying for you, for the little girl, and for everyone involved.

Hang in there.

Sorry, guys but I've not had much time for research the last couple of days. A dear friend who was a member of my church died suddenly at the age of 35. She was the mother of a dear 4 year old. I've been spending time with the family to prepare for the funeral. I have another member whose Mom is about to die of terminal cancer as well. Your prayers would of course be appreciated for these families.

My prayers are with you and these families as well. I'm so sorry Kenny.

Kenny -- just wanted to say thank you for being there for the two affected families. Your presence to them will help them manage these difficult times.

My prayers are with both families.:grouphug:

Kenny,

You are in our thoughts and prayers as are the families who are going through life's most difficult times. Take good care of yourselves and know many, many people care! To all of you reading this, my thanks to you for allowing me into your lives! I've been reading all the posts for the past month on this forum; have felt the happiness, laughed at the postings, enjoyed watching the entries, and shared the sadness...I also entered with great optimism and was not chosen...but the gift in life is always the journey and those relationships made on the way. I was shy about posting but felt compelled after reading about Kenny's struggles and thought I'd say congrats to everyone who followed their dream and entered and best of luck to all the finalists!!!!! Have a great day all of you!

I couldn't agree more! Life really is about the relationships we make with each other. They are what gets us through the tough times and they allow our joy to be more complete when we have something to celebrate. If I had to sum up what I enjoy so much about this forum - it's just that: Relationships. I already feel like I've connected with people I never would have had the chance to meet - and you never know where those will lead.

Thanks for posting - and don't be shy about sharing with us again sometime!

So very sorry Kenny. For those who were sufferring and have moved on, passing is a wonderful thing. For those of us left behind to grieve, it really takes the wind out of our sails. Prayers and thoughts for peace and healing to you and yours.
