Did anyone get BM's video to work? I couldn't...can't wait to see another one!

It worked for me, and it's really cute. (It spoofs a movie trailer.) Very clever!

Welcome Beloved Michael. (Hey, Marshay, may want to rethink those initials ("BM")!) :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: OH, it was just quicker to type BM! OK, Beloved Michael!

I added "Beloved" Michael to my story (in the comments field).

I would have to put Michael in my personal Top 5 — behind Patrick, Andy and Peter (in that order) and tied with Justin and Amanda.

I wish we had someone like Brady covering us in last year's contest. ;) It's one thing to hit the message boards with campaign-style posts, but it's another to be included in an LA Times blog!

I think its neat to have some interest here in the Top 20 stage already. I'm sure that the Top 10 announcement will really ramp that up a bunch. (Certainly if the Top 10 have anything to say about that!)

Brady, you mentioned that you entered the contest, but withdrew. Is your video still up on the site though? It would be neat to see!

Hey, Kenny: You never did specify how you came across this one. (Care to share your trade secrets? :rolleyes1) And, based on Nicole's response to your inquiry (in the "Comments" section following her video), it seems that even she was a bit surprised you managed to track her down. Impressive!

I posted a comment and asked if she was in the Top 20. She responded to the affirmative.

Alright Brady, kennythereporter here. That's six, not 5. No cop outs. Top 5? Is is Justin or Amanda?

If Michael is on here (and even if he's not I guess . . .) I really enjoyed your video as well. I love how each video really is unique. So kudos to "the man who does silly things around the office"!

Good luck!

Yeah, but what directed you to her video? (Have you been sending inquiries to all of your personal favorites, who posted on YouTube?) :confused3 Keep 'em coming, Kenny! :thumbsup2

I love how each video really is unique.

Yeah, Disney is really mixing up the videos -- from lots of animation to basically a person talking to you. Good for them to mix it up! I imagine the Top 10 will also bring this same sort of mixture as I don't think Disney wants 10 of the same (i.e., all pixie dust, all animation, etc).

If I'm at all right, then it's really all the pixie dust ones going head to head against all the animation ones against the tv ads/games, etc. Then I'm sure they will try to keep the male/female ratio close to 4:6 if not 5:5.

Anyway, there's my 2 cents...what's yours?

At the moment, these would be my favorites (in order):

1) Patrick
2) Andy
3) Justin
4) Peter
5) Michael
6) Amanda
7) Nicole
8) Meggin
9) Daisy
10) Tripp (I love an underdog)

My great hope is that there are several strong female contenders in the "Unknown 7" that can break into my Top 5. I must admit I'm looking for that magical entry to round out my Top 3 (sorry Justin).

I imagine Karrie will make the Top 10 (but Andy gets my animation vote).

And don't count Eric out — who is behind only Justin in our online poll.

Which leaves David, who suffers from a field filled with too much pixie dust. I suspect Meggin and Daisy could fall off my Top 10 list for the same reasons once the "Unknown 7" are revealed.

And let me just say: Any one of the "Known 13" would make an excellent CMO. You should all be proud of yourselves. You are a talented bunch.

I think you are probably right about wanting some sort of mixture. However, we can't forget that there are a couple of elements of the contest that the judges have access to which we don't. Specifically, there were the questions on the entry form and then the interviews.

There is also the X factor which is that only the judges have a clear idea of what they want the Top 10, Top 3 and ultimately the winner to achieve for them. At the end of the day, the duties of the CMO don't have too much to do with making videos. I think the videos were an excellent way for the judges to see what kind of creative spin you could put on your yourself.. plus it was a way for them to see the contestants and hear them speak.

I think the choices they make for Top 10 will be very informative about what they expect from the position. I'm sure the videos gave them a sense of creative spark and fun... and I would imagine the interviews gave them a sense of who could think on their feet. Next, they will put 10 people to the test to see who knows how to promote (like.. um... Kenny?).

All of the above TOTALLY my opinion... truth is... I have no idea! I'm mostly just on pins and needles!

Too Funny!! You put Tripp back in your Top 10! He'll be so happy to see that! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Just for fun: Did anyone see this video submission? And, does anyone think she's potentially one of the "unknown" semifinalists?

I had forgotten about her when I posted some of my female favorites earlier in this thread. (Plus, I probably would have been hesitant to mention her anyway, since the video opens with heavy animation. As we all know -- for a while there -- the mere mention of the word "animation" could get a DISboard poster flamed! ;) )

She definitely fits that "fairy godmother" image I referenced earlier - without the extra pounds. ;) And, she does seem to have the personality and "acting chops" to do the job!

Thoughts? Comments? (... Snide remarks? ;) )

Good thoughts and I agree on all the "non-video" qualifications! I assume all we will have access to are the videos (and not the essays or interview answers). So basically Disney has to find 10 people of which they would be totally happy being CMO.

It would be so cool to get the background on this contest from the judges, when everything is said and done...wonder if the top folks that the judges want will be anywhere close to what "America" chooses.

Ya know?

Like suppose Patrick Cut-out who has an awesome video, had a truly horrible interview or just mediocre. If they put him in the Top 10, chances are his will make the Top 3, just due to the overall cuteness. But if he can't speak worth a darn off-screen, then he's cut and we are all left to wonder why he didn't make it. This is just a hypothetical -- I do not know Patrick and his speaking abilities.

I wish we had insight into the essay questions and interview answers, along with the videos when we vote.

OK, yes, I'm obsessing about this now too (...only now??:rotfl2: )
