Hey Patrick...we've been waiting for you! ;)

Congratulations on making the finals--love your creativity!

Patrick,

WELCOME to THE DIS and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Your video was excellent!!!!:thumbsup2

TC:cool1:

Hey all, Patrick here...course I may need to change my name to "Cut-Out Guy"! I actually hadn't been over to this board before, but I was pointed over here. GOOD LORD, I can feel the love! I'd really just decided to keep things quiet for a while, but with the support I've been getting from folks that don't even KNOW me and really enjoyed my video I just had to come forward and say thankyou! I'm happy to answer questions about myself or the video if you've got any. I'm excited to see what happens next...this has been, to say the least...the chance of a lifetime.

WHEW. Now I can stop trying to keep it a secret. ;)

As I told Patrick before, even if he doesn't win, at least he has some really cool homemade Disneyland props that I'm sure many of us would be more than happy to buy off of him for our own home decorations! ;)

I think the splash mountain scene would have been better if he would have flashed....:rotfl2:
I want the ticket booth cut out.....

Welcome aboard! I wanted you to know that my favorite is really the tea cups scene. Everything was cute, but for some reason, that really made me laugh out loud!

So how long did it take you to make all the cut-outs?

OH, and Patrick, SILLY OLD BEAR of you to try to keep it a secret --- you want everyone to know you made the Top 20 so we can all share in the joy! This is exciting for you and what better way to enhance that excitement than to surround yourself with other Disney lovers!:goodvibes

Thanks for joining us!:goodvibes

Whew.. it's a relief to know that Patrick is top twenty, as there would have been something seriously wrong with the contest if he had been overlooked.
Thanks, Patrick, for one of the most fun minutes ever!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I really didn't keep track while making the cut outs, but safe to say 15 to 20 hours of work went into making everything.

Well congrats on making it and on finding your way over to us! As everyone else said, I loved your video. I really enjoyed your approach (totally unique - which is hard to do with 1300 entries!) and I completely admire and respect the amount of time and effort you put in.

Well done and welcome aboard!

Let me add my welcome! Way to go, Patrick - glad you found your way to our little "party" here!

A girl can't take a sick day around here!

I'm gone for less than a day and miss two new Top 20ers! I'm glad that so many are finding their way here. Hopefully you all feel welcome! :grouphug:

I will now go back to my butt-grove on the couch to wallow in my misery.

Not feeling well? I'm sorry! It nice to have a butt-grove though.

I'd certainly like to go. (I, like you, have only been to a handful of events at The Kennedy Center, and I have always wanted to see The Lion King...) :thumbsup2

Justin or Cat (our resident Lion King resources): Do you think it's a bit too scary for a five-year-old? (We have yet to allow our DD to watch the movie. Of course, she'll be closer to six by then.) Our DS2 would have to stay with a sitter or friends.

I was sort of hoping that the musical glosses over some of the scarier parts of the storyline -- and maybe focuses more on the music, regal costumes, and such... Of course, a date night (sans kids) would be nice, too!

I hear you, Marshay, (about the high price of living around these parts -- babysitters included)! It certainly makes a person think twice! :sad2: Have you considered a matinee? (It may feel less "date-like," but it also could be cheaper ... I hope. :confused3 )

Since I don't have kids, I'm not sure about the age question. It is at least as "scary" as the movie when it comes to Mufasa's demise. But I'm with Justin about how wonderful the production is, so I'd defer to his opinion since he saw young kids there.

I just want to emphasize again - to you and Marshay - that this is the best enjoyment for your buck outside of a Disney park. And yes, with all your considerations of extra costs, I think you will be so happy you went!

In order to see it, I went to Houston, paid for a hotel, meals, etc plus cost of balcony tickets. I was blown away! It was there for another month, so I went back AGAIN, and this time got 10th row on the floor, on the aisle seats. It seems impossible, but I enjoyed it even more!

So, please find a way to go - even if you go matinee, no meals and drinks. You will never regret it! :)

Oh dear. I did mean butt-groove. I hope it's ok to say butt here since it is a family-friendly forum. I blame anything I say on the cold medicines.
