I was driving to work last Thursday the same way I always do: very fast, windows down, blasting the ride music to Soarin', and sniffing orange peels. Or pine needles. Depends on the mood. I stopped at a red light when, without warning, it sprouted two tell-tale ears. In the crosswalk directly underneath said mouse-morphed light strode a man in a team athletic jacket with the number "26" emblazoned on the sleeve. 26--as in February 26. At that very moment, the music exploded with its concluding pyrotechnic finale. Its concussions echoed with the unmistakable weight of something supernatural, like tremulations upon the ether. Or like that final ear-punching volley in Reflections of Earth. You know. Loud and stuff.

So clearly, indisputably, and in all other ways beyond potential reproach, this was nothing short of revelation. Something magical happens tomorrow. If not the long-awaited CMO announcement, then what? So mete it be.

Not to throw a wrench in the ceremonies, but what happens if/when the SPONSORS take down the submission videos on Saturday in preparation for the Top 3 voting?

As for the awards, I would throw in a nod for best use of Mickey Ears. But I also know we have way too many categories already.

Maybe, if that does happen, we might just have to vote on those here on the DIS, instead of on all 1300! I know you guys would all be just thrilled to win!

Good plan... definitely nominees by Thursday... also, search Youtube for entries when looking for nominees so we know they'll still be there.

If there is a name beside it... I've suggested someone for the nominator... but you can opt out if you want. If it says Anyone? beside it, then you may volunteer. Once we have a volunteer for every category, we'll make a solid list, so people can PM suggestions.

Something I'll repeat often... for any categories that might point out mistakes, it needs to be in vein of "we kid because we love" not mocking. I know you guys know... but figure I should say.

Also... please consider two things when looking for your nominations... review this thread because it will be more fun if we have more people online during the announcements. If you search YouTube, we may be able to invite the nominees here. (maybe not for Best Foreign Substance!)

We'll also be adding some posting categories... but better line up the videos first.

We'll get the nominees posted by Thursday for fun discussion... then the lead person on the category will choose a winner (or maybe choose two others to PM with for a vote of 3 people, if you don't want it to be your decision alone)

Then, you can e-mail me the winner's name.. so I can make their avatar in advance. Assuming the nominator will be here on Saturday, they can be the presenter of the category and announce the winner... and then I will post the Avatar.

Nominees should be prepared to post an acceptance speech... but have it typed already so you can cut and paste... we'll be moving pretty quickly I think.
