Yep, I just looked a minute ago because a friend of mine is going for a second time. Anyway, it definitely said it's SOLD OUT!

Kim?? Where are you??? Are you going on the cruise?

I spent most of the afternoon arrempting to just get on the cruise site. I
figured with all of the trouble if I could just get through it would be a sign I am supposed to cruise, and I would book. :rotfl2: No luck.

Kimberly hasn't been on twitter, either. I don't think she got on the boat. I hope I am wrong!

OK... vent time...

Those of you who have been on this thread for awhile know that we moved from MN to my hometown in IA in October so that I could have the kids closer to their grandparents during DH's deployment. When we moved here, the elementary school in our zone was full so they were open enrolled to another school. I would have prefered at that time that they stayed in our home zone. Since we will be moving in the spring, I put in a special request to keep the girls in the school that they attended last year. Received the call today that the request was not approved. Apparently, if they had a BABYSITTER that lived in that area then they could go to that school, but the well being of my kids does not matter. I am so furious! They have been through so much in the past year, I just wanted to keep them in the same school, where they are familiar and have friends. Now, if we move to TX with Brian when he gets back (he reports there March 1) they will have been in 4 schools in two years. I can't do that to them, so I will likely just stay in Iowa until school is out so that they can have that stability, but then we will be apart from Brian for 18 months. What a crappy day!!!

OK... I feel better just typing it... thanks, ladies!

Heather, I'm so sorry sweetie.

I know I'm late but I was on Kelly's side. I hated Brenda. I loved Valerie. She added spice to a stale show at the time. She was evil with a capital E.

Yay! Another Valerie fan! I was watching an old episode the other day, the one where she is dating the actor (Rob Lewis). Funny he played the same kind of part later on SATC!

Heather, that stinks! That has got to be rough on the girls. I remember being the new kid (I almost typed type with a capital N and K lol) when I was around 7 or 8 and I was so nervous. I can't believe they won't make an exception, especially since they went there last year!

I tried checking the cruise site too. Couldn't get on all day. Oh well!

Awwww, Heather!!! That is such a bummer and their reasoning makes NO sense whatsoever! I understand why you would stay put, switching children in March would be so hard!! When does the school year end, May or June? I can't believe they did that and didn't take your situation into consideration. That just SUCKS!!!

Bummer about the darn cruise site. They should have had a better system in place this time around. But I think they (Donnie especially) love the drama of it all!

Heather, is there any way you can appeal or go to a higher up? That's just wrong!

Shelby... school is out in June, but we will likely move Memorial Day weekend. Nothing happens after that anyway.

Angey...The decision came from the superintendent of the schools, so I can't go much higher.

I just spoke to the principal of the new school and was very calm and rational (even nice) and he told me... get this... well, your husband chose to be in the military, they will have to get used to moving. OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, now that just makes everything so much better. He also made a comment (jokingly) and said "Well if you didn't have twins it would be easier to place them". What? He didn't win a lot of points with me. :headache:

Heather,
OMG, what a jerk! I cannot believe that principal would make that comment about the military. Does he not realize your children would be in the same school two years in a row if it wasn't for their misplanning for enrollment? I would have been livid!

Heather - Sorry to hear about what is going on with your girls that is just awful. Does he not realize that if your husband had not "chosen" to be in the military that his A$$ would not be as safe as it is right now. I believe if I had been on the call the redneck in me would have come out. I applaud you for being civil!!! I can overlook a lot but when it comes to my little girl..........wish there was an easier solution for you!!!!

Oh that really pisses me off Heather!!! I would have told him that your husband's choice to be in the military is what allows him the right to be the complete jerk that he is and he should get down on his knees every single day and thank God that there are people like your husband that are willing to be away from their families for long periods of time JUST to protect HIS FREEDOM and keep him safe.

#@#$@$@%$!!!!!!!!! What a complete jacka$$ Homeschooling would start to look real good to me!!!

Thanks for the support, ladies! Really don't know how I would make it through this deployment without all of you... love ya!!!

And thanks for making me laugh! I needed that!

Oh my god, Heather! I just read what the principal said to you. I can't believe that! What an ***. DIS will probably start that out lol. I would be LIVID!

 That guy needs a good swift kick in the :rolleyes1 (and I wasn't thinking butt). What a jerk.

We're here for you, girly!!!! Nobody messes with one of our Dis NKOTB friends and gets away with it.

I think you should send in a little gift to the school office on the first day of school. Make some brownies but slip a little exlax in them. :rolleyes1 Just your way of saying you're SOOOO happy to be at HIS school. :snooty:

I second this!

Kudos to you Heather for keeping a level head! I highly doubt I could've reacted the same way. Jerk is such an understatment!! GRR

Shelby, thank God we don't live close to each other ... we could get in some serious trouble on a regular basis. :rotfl:
