I know this is off topic but I just wanted to share. I went to Six Flags yesterday (local amusement park) and it was a day filled with NKOTB lol. We went to see the Wiggles show (my nephew is 3) and Captain Feathersword and Wags did the New Kids dance. :rotfl2: I gave them a standing ovation for that. And while we were waiting in line for a ride, they have LCD screens that play past clips from the American Music Awards. They also interview people around the park. All of a sudden, my sister and I hear 'Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh' ala right stuff being sung by these random people on screen. Then the clip of their performance from last year's AMA starts. We were jumping up and down! :rotfl: The teenybops in front of us were like 'these guys are a billion years old!' :scared1:

Too funny!

Reminds me - I was talking to dd about her music class on Wednesday. I was telling her she has the same music teacher I did when I was in elementary school. Alex says "yeah she is really old. Probably like 30!":laughing:

:rotfl2: That's practically ancient to kids!! My sister and I totally embarrassed our 11 year old nephew but jumping up and down and singing. :rotfl:

When I was little, I ALWAYS thought 30 was old. My mom told me "One day, you won't think 30 is old."
I remember when Madonna turned 30, I thought to myself, "Wow! I didn't know she was THAT old."
Now that I am 32, I still think 30 is old. hehe. I just try to hold on to my youth and think/act a bit younger. My nieces' teenage friends all think I'm in my mid-20s. :thumbsup2

As you that follow me on Twitter and FB know-

:cloud9:I finally got FACETIME! :cloud9:
(Sorry in advance going to be a super long post-alots to cover)

:cool1:I went to Donnie's 40th Birthday bash here in Dallas at the Ghostbar.:cool1:

He didnt get there until midnight (we got there at 9:30pm) so we took pictures of the Dallas Skyline and had a drink, met up with some twitter girls etc. Robo was in an out. Robo had made announcement that Donnie would not be leaving until everyone got a hug AS LONG as there was no pushing and shoving. Of course, I am with my sister (21-whom I went with to Houston and my other friend-also not really a blockhead but that tolerate my addictions :))
He tweeted he was on the elevator (Ghostbar is on 33 floor of W hotel in Downtown Dallas) Everyone walks toward elevator- We didnt we stayed right where we were, He walk right past us to the dj booth where we knew he was going to be (since this is the same place we had afterparty from Dallas concert and Danny's Breast cancer party-set up has not changed). We were standing with a lady that was in a wheelchair, so of course I go to one side so I can get the picture incase he doesnt look at my sister whom is behind this lady. Of course as he makes his way, he stops at her and bends down to give her a hug. My sister is standing behind her- He stands up and hugs my sister- I am BEHIND HIM- freaking out - I touch the back of his shirt to have him turn around and ROBO sticks his hand up and says "sorry hun" and blocks me for the pic, HUG smile everything. So he makes his way to DJ area. I make it back to my sister and Tell her WE ARE NOT LEAVING NOW until I GET MY FACETIME- She doesnt even like him- :confused3

He gets on mic and says he has not slept in 3 days, and how he was just going to have parties in Boston and LA but thought he would stop in Dallas, Blah blah. He also says "we are not forcing anything tonight" So we are only going to have about 20 mins of singing and then he is going to go to "his corner" and we could all come see him. So after that he introduces ROB LEWIS- Which I totally love and has a smile as big as Donnies that lights up the room. So Rob stands up on "stage" and sings his song and Thanks Donnie over and over again for helping his dreams come true as a real artist. Very nice REAL man.

Now it is Donnie's turn on the mic- Let me just tell you this DJ SUCKS, not sure where they got him but he wasnt playing good "club" music before Donnie got there he wasnt impressing Donnie AT all. Donnie does a couple of songs. But my favorite was when he did his Michael Jackson pose and had sang "Billie Jean" except of course he had us change the words to DONNIE D IS my Lover and the line that says The child isnt mine- to IS mine. Which as we sang along -He cracked up laughing. TOO SUPER CUTE.

He popped open champagne and then sprayed it on all of us, of course. Then had a shot someone had bought him, then drank a sip of his water, then gave it to someone in the front- Not sure what you need his water bottle for what TO EACH HIS OWN. He has to get down and DJ for a minute because this DJ SUCKS and Donnie wasnt liking anything he was giving him to work with. So then he got back up on "stage(speaker&table of dj booth) and said we needed to sing "Single" loud enough for Jon, Jordan, Joey and Danny to hear.
So now they are clearing everyone off balcony and closing the door so that it is a "one way Street" and started lining us up. So we are right there. I see Jason (@jasonJmikeMgmt) walk behind me and I said "Jason" To which he replied "girl get in line" So we did we were seriously two steps away from where the line was forming. So we were only about 10 people back, And they are letting groups of 4 go in and take 1 picture with one camera. So we get to Door of balcony and Robo steps in front of us and says "4 only"(my friend is in front of me) then Jason walks up behind Robo and I said "Jason we only have 3" So he said "ok come on":banana:

Now we are seriously 5 feet away from Donnie Wahlberg:cool2:, and I am just beside myself this is FINALLY happening. So we walk up and the woman that was in the group before us was not moving on. So I walk up and he puts his arm around me :cloud9: then kisses the top of my head. My sister starts talking, (she is telling him all about my 4 concerts, 2 afterparties etc) and she says We went to Houston and went to that afterparty it was a joke and before she could get that out of her mouth he pulled me in a kissed my forehead and said "sorry" (he knows it was a joke- madhouse- waste of our time and $). So we pose for pic. The whole time is his rubbing my back and I have my hand on his chest,:woohoo: (TOTAL OUT OF BODY experience) Pictures is taken (who ever was taken pics- didnt get a name- was nice enough to look at the camera and make sure it turned out before sayin "got it"- I was very impressed with this). So then he kissed my sister on the cheek and then gave me a big hug, kiss on the cheek then kissed my friend's cheek. I finally think I got the words " thank you, I love you" to come out of my mouth after the big hug before the cheek kiss. So we were on our way. We were probably in there with him 2 minutes. So Better than the 2 mins in 5* that you have to share your time with all 5 guys. IT was SO worth the wait! :woohoo::woohoo:

So we get on elevator, get car from valet and it isnt until we get on highway before It hits me. All I kept saying is "OMG, I finally met Donnie Wahlberg" I feel so 13 right now (to which my sister say I was acting 13).

Again Sorry for such a long post! Please forgive me!

I have some picture on my FB page- My friend Jamie was the designated photographer for the evening so I will get cd of pictures in the morning and post more.

Marshmelo-
Thank you so much for sending him the tweets to tell him not to forget to give me facetime - I do believe it worked- :thumbsup2 I should have had you do that before the Dallas and Houston shows.

Yay, so happy for you Angela!

Heather, I hope you, Brian, and the girls have the best time filled with lots of fun, good weather, and plenty of pixe dust. Sending good vibes your way. :goodvibes

No problem, Angela :rotfl: I'm so happy you finally got to meet him! :cheer2: Aaaah....I can still feel him rubbing on my back :cloud9:

too funny!

The funniest part is I got a texted(from sis) this morning and Said "might be a Donnie Girl now":rotfl2: GEEZ all it took was Concert, Afterparty and Birthday party & little bit of facetime and a kiss on the cheek to convert her:rotfl2:. I guess it took her going to work and telling everyone there that she met him to realize that Jordan just might be a thing of the past.

Please there were a few people there that said Jordan was kind of a jerk when they met him. So I am hoping that isnt true and that he just didnt like those particular girls. :lmao:

Awesome, Angela! I got cheated out of facetime with Donnie. Saw him in a parking lot after a show, security made us get across the road, and he never came over to our side! :sad2:

Heather, hope you have a fantastic trip! I wanna see pictures!

I just have to share my good news ... I went to the doctor this morning and my eye is healed! Woo hoo! No more glasses! Contacts, I'm coming back to ya, and just in time for my trip!

OK, I have a question for you moms out there. Jason and I are on the fence. We have been planning to take Jonas at six months old to California, to go to Disneyland. We have DVC points that if we don't use them this year, we lose them since they are banked. Then this weekend, Jason watched a WDW special and seems to be having withdrawals, saying maybe we should go to WDW instead.

Now, we have pros and cons with each. His con for DL is he's dreading taking a six-month-old on a four-hour plane ride, even though staying at DVC at Grand Californian, it would be very convenient to get to and from the parks to accommodate a baby's schedule. He's thinking driving (gulp) to WDW possibly, which saves the air travel dread, but that is a loooong car ride, even with stops. Also, it's not as easy to just hop out of a park and back to a resort at WDW. But, it would be more "economical" to go to WDW (but that really isn't an issue, but it's there).

Anyway, what would you do?

Wow, that's a tough one! I would say a lot of the decision will depend on how well the two of you adapt to parenting. Personally, I adapted to it pretty well and have no problem taking Nicolas places. But, Doug gets really stressed out even taking him out to dinner, and he can't even enjoy it. He's afraid Nicolas will act up and bother other customers, whereas I just have the attitude that he's a toddler and they do that so people can deal with a few little screams if he should do it.

You also should consider if you plan to breast feed. If you do, and you think you may be doing it at six months still, I wouldn't go on a 4 hour plane trip unless you're not at all shy about doing that on a plane. Aside from that, I don't think I would take a six month old on a plane anyway just because of the hassle of everything you would have to take for a baby (including a car seat for the plane) and because of the noise of the plane not being good for their ears.

So, I guess I'm voting for the car trip. I wouldn't take a toddler on a long car trip, but at 6 months, it won't be as bad having him confined in a seat as it would be once he starts walking. You will probably have to sit in the back seat with him to keep him happy and entertain him when he's not sleeping. Plus, a car will give you more space to take some of the baby gear you will need on the trip. Oh, I should have recommended a PeaPod for you on FB with my other must-haves. It would be great for you to have for your trips. If I were you, I'd get the PeaPod Plus so you can use it as he gets older too. Here's a link: http://www.kidco.com/main.taf?p=4,5

I hope some of my rambling has helped you. Maybe someone else on here who has actually taken an infant on a plane or long car trip can help you more!

Days when JK guy is not at work are boring...it has been so slow here this past week.

Thank goodness I only have 6 more work days left til vacation! ;)

Where is everybody? Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

Just checking in....

Sorry I have been MIA lately.

My brother leaves for Afghanistan on Wednesday so I am sure I will be a complete mess for a few days. Still trying to get all the odds and ends together before he leaves.

We had a "favorites" meal last night here at my house, then today I went shopping with him and my sister(really rare the 3 of us do stuff together - so it was super nice) to go buy his baby (Due in Jan) her coming home from hospital outfit. I want frills since she is the only girl (he has 2 boys and I have 2 boys) but he was not picky at all - he just wanted a PINK hair bow and a bib or SOMETHING that said "my daddy loves me" So... I am still looking for her the perfect frilly dress for her newborn pics but I still have time so I am not worried. We are going to a little boutique type shop tomorrow so he can get her outfit and be done with it all. ALSO tomorrow we are getting his son (14months old) his first hair cut. NOTHING like trying to cram alot of firsts into a short amount of time.

OF Course, my mom just called and she just remembered we have not gotten all of our family together for a full group pic. So I guess we all know what we are doing onWEdnesday before he leaves.

Dont worry, I have had my freak out moments. Cried many tears on Saturday at our football game (my brother just started helping DH coach little league football this year) and after the game we took each players picture with my brother so that I can give it to them with a little note he has wrote out to all of them with his email so they can keep intouch if they want to.

So I will be back to check in... I hope all is well in the land of my Disboard friends.

Since Disneyland is my favorite I would pick that! A 4 hour plane ride with a 6 month old isn't bad for the most part. Just try to plan the flight during his nap time. Plus, as you know, staying at VGC is as simple as can be to go back to the room. Where as anywhere you stay in WDW is a pain in the butt to go back to the room and rest.

Oh, and I'm not to sure how long the drive to WDW would be but there is no way in heck I would pick a car ride. My little one hated the car around 6 months and would scream after an hour or more in the car.

:grouphug: Girl, my heart goes out to you. I can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling. Sounds like you've gotten a lot accomplished and are spending some good quality time with your brother.

Angey - I can't speak intelligently about DisneyLand but I can about WDW. I don't think it's a big deal to get back to the room at WDW, especially if you're staying at one of the resorts right near MK. (assuming you'd spend a lot of time at MK) You just hop on the boat and you're set! Besides a baby that age will crash wherever they feel like it!! Again, I can't speak about DL...never been there!

Tomorrow is the first day of school here. :sad1: My little babies are growing up, one in Middle School and the other in 1st grade. And to top it all off, I actually found a longer hair sticking out of Noah's chin area today. My DS10 is getting facial hair!??!?!! JUST PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY NOW!!! What the heck is happening here!??!!:scared1:

Our trip is 17 days away and I am VERY excited. I've been starting to put clothes aside so they'll be easy to pack the night before we leave. The kids are still clueless!!! :cheer2: My hubby is still bummed about it but it was his choice....it doesn't stop him from trying to make me feel guilty about it though.

Still no dishwasher here, I'm slowly going insane. At least we have hot water though!

I start working on Thursday. I'll have the perfect schedule just 10-2:30 so I can easily get the kids to school, have some time to myself and then get done in time to get them from school. :thumbsup2 Perfect! Plus, the job is literally 2 min from my house and 2 min from school. :yay:

Hope you're all doing well and that you enjoyed your Labor Day!!

We spent the weekend in Fort Wayne with family. Had a good time but not much rest.

Angey, I know nothing about DL so can't comment on that. I do know that with my first child I was nervous about taking her anywhere! So I agree with Melody that it's more dependant on how laid back and relaxed you both are as parents. Also keep in mind the baby could be colickly or have some reflux issues. Those kinds of things could have to be factored into such a big trip. Now with my 2nd child I'd have packed her bags and taken her anywhere at 6months. I just felt that much more comfotable with my 2nd compared to being a new mom. A 4 hour plane ride wouldn't have caused me to blink an eye. Babies are surprisingly easy at this age.
