DISer chapter of NKOTB anonymous, part deux... we don't want an intervention!!!

Just checking in....

Sorry I have been MIA lately.

My brother leaves for Afghanistan on Wednesday so I am sure I will be a complete mess for a few days. Still trying to get all the odds and ends together before he leaves.

We had a "favorites" meal last night here at my house, then today I went shopping with him and my sister(really rare the 3 of us do stuff together - so it was super nice) to go buy his baby (Due in Jan) her coming home from hospital outfit. I want frills since she is the only girl (he has 2 boys and I have 2 boys) but he was not picky at all - he just wanted a PINK hair bow and a bib or SOMETHING that said "my daddy loves me" So... I am still looking for her the perfect frilly dress for her newborn pics but I still have time so I am not worried. We are going to a little boutique type shop tomorrow so he can get her outfit and be done with it all. ALSO tomorrow we are getting his son (14months old) his first hair cut. NOTHING like trying to cram alot of firsts into a short amount of time.

OF Course, my mom just called and she just remembered we have not gotten all of our family together for a full group pic. So I guess we all know what we are doing onWEdnesday before he leaves.

Dont worry, I have had my freak out moments. Cried many tears on Saturday at our football game (my brother just started helping DH coach little league football this year) and after the game we took each players picture with my brother so that I can give it to them with a little note he has wrote out to all of them with his email so they can keep intouch if they want to.

So I will be back to check in... I hope all is well in the land of my Disboard friends.

Our trip is 17 days away and I am VERY excited. I've been starting to put clothes aside so they'll be easy to pack the night before we leave. The kids are still clueless!!! My hubby is still bummed about it but it was his choice....it doesn't stop him from trying to make me feel guilty about it though.

12 days to go for us! You're good at keeping secrets! I'm terrible at it lol. I've been keeping it a secret where we're staying (Joe doesn't know) but I let it slip that they were deluxe so it narrowed it down quite a bit. I'm hopeless. Maybe I'll see you there!!!

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend. Mine was good but so busy. I can hardly believe it's already over.

Angela, I'll keep saying prayers for your brother while he's away. It's such a tough time. My family is very close and several years ago my cousin was stationed in Iraq with the CIA. It was so nervewracking because he could never really tells us ANYthing about what he was doing or where he was, so I have a bit of an idea. I'm sure he will be fine, but I'm sending twugs your way as well!

Shelby, I have NO idea how you've kept this trip secret. I'm pretty good at keeping them, but with something like a trip to Disney I think I'd let something slip at some point. Your kids are going to have a blast. What a nice mom.

Angey, I wish I could give you some help, but I'm useles. I haven't had any kids yet and never been to DL, lol. I got nothin'.

We're back from Washington! Ah, I wish I was still wearing a sweatshirt and jeans instead of a tank top, capris and flip flops!
After taking a plane 4 hours across country I saw small babies aren't too fussy on a plane, it's the ones around the age of two. I'm really thinking DL is going to be the total way to go because I think it will be harder to get out there in the next three years, until Jonas is at an age where he can occupy himself a bit more.
Now that the trip is over, we have two things to look forward to ... baby showers for the next two weekends! YAY! Yeah, we have to drive five hours to Louisiana, but I can't complain.

Your family and your brother will be in my prayers. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. My brother just left for Afhghanistan in July. We hear from him more often than we thought we would, and he is doing okay. The time has sort of gone by quickly since he is stationed away from Maine anyway, but we still think of him a lot more when we hear news about over there. It sounds like you are fitting in lots of stuff with him before he leaves though, and that is great!

Braelynn finally got to go to school today. She missed the whole first week last week due to her very unexpected surgery. She was a trooper though, she bounced back pretty quickly. Everyone at school really made over her when she went back this morning, so she felt special.

Things have been crazy busy around here, so I just had a nice relaxing holiday weekend. Did some shopping and found new furtniture for my entire house....YAY!!! Picking it up this weekend. We built a new house a couple of years ago and just brought in the furniture we have since we got married. So this will be the first new furniture that we've had in about 10 years. I'm pretty excited.

Shelby & Jenny have a great time on your trips to Disney! I have to wait until next June for my trip. So I'll have to live vicariously through your trips. Can't wait to hear about Heather's trip. It sounds like she has had a rough time since Brian came home, but I'm glad they were still able to have their trip to Disney together! Hope you're having a great time Heather!!!

I thought Michael Mancini looked good, LOVED his car. Ashley Simpson is one strange looking girl. Her character is a bit odd.

I freaked when I saw Michael Mancini, I was so excited. I couldn't help myself. I freakin LOVE that guy. Best Melrose character, EVER. And what an entrance. Question though: David is supposed to be his and Jane's son correct? So, is Jane dead? Because she's guest starring...

So is Syd done for real this time? Or is this all a set up? And what's going on with Violet taking her picture? I've heard rumors her character is Syd's daughter...

As far as Sydney, no idea if it's real or fake. She's only going to be on the pilot episode?!?! I assumed Violet was her daughter based on the color of her hair. Then she snagged the picture. Who knows! Guess we'll find out.

Isn't Augie the one at the end that was burning evidence? I thought for sure Ella was the one that killed Syd. (if she's even dead!) What a soap opera!!

Yup, Auggie was the one burning evidence. He wasn't in the episode much but I thought he was pretty cute!

Syd can't just be on the pilot and that's it. They're billing her as one of the stars of the show. I want to find out how Michael helped her fake her death...the first time.

Didn't Craig on the original show commit suicide because he was so distraught over Syd?? Kinda messed up!!!!
