Boxing Day sales are our equivalent of Black Friday. They used to close on Boxing Day and then one of the departmental stores decided to open just their city store. After that, it was a free-for-all!

I think workers are paid either double or triple time on Boxing Day. It is a public holiday and their award rates for public holiday applies.
