Discovery Cove- if you don't get a Cabana, where do you keep your stuff?

which begs another question...what kind of stuff do you need to bring with you?

But where would you keep things like cover ups, sunglasses, camera?

We're planning a trip to SW this year and would really, really like to go to Discovery Cove. The admission fee is breathtaking enough but I'm also agonizing over the whole photo package/celebration package thing...I keep waffling. One minute I'm thinking, "just get the elite package and be done with it." The next it's "forget it, I'll just take my own pictures."

Yes, I make myself crazy.:)

There are lots of large lockers available to guests who do not choose to rent a cabana (which is most folks....really, the cabana guests are the exception, not the rule) and they are free. Many folks will leave their cover ups, etc. on a lounge chair somewhere. Cameras and expensive sunglasses I would lock up (just to be on the safe side) but hats and cover ups I would just leave on your lounger.

As for the photo packages....if I were you, and you are doing the dolphin swim, I would try to budget for one of the photo packages (even just one of the smaller ones). Trust me when I say you will want those pictures. You dont necessarily need to get the elite package (as you can buy a photo package on the day of your visit and go without the cabana), but the in-water photographers who are present during your dolphin interaction get some fabulous, close-up shots that are absolutely the best souvenir of your day. And remember, you are not permitted to take a camera into the dolphin pool, so anyone on shore will be taking photos of you from the side or behind.

As for what to bring with you.....other than clothes and personal grooming items (as well as money for souvenirs and photos, if you want them)....you really dont need much else!

Thanks Gina!

The dolphin swim thing is among the things that keep me waffling about the photos. Plus it would be really nice to have pictures of "us" rather than of just my husband & son :).

I have been scouring all of the Discovery Cove threads and they have been extremely helpful.

I'm planning the trip for August but the dates aren't settled on yet. I'll definitely post in the roll call thread when everything's firm.

As far as stuff, I wear prescription glasses. I know that I'll have to bring plain glasses as well as sunglasses since my husband really wants to do the sea walk & sunglasses aren't allowed....but an underwater camera for that is a great idea (see what I mean about stuff?!).

Thanks again.

I agree :thumbsup2 .

They have several different photo package price points, so hopefully there will be one that works for you! :)
