Discount through Cheaptickets

Also, I added the kids to my YC ressie in about 10 min this morning. When I called CT I told her she would have to call wholesale ressie for WDW. She did and it showed up immediately. I spent 45 min on the phone with CT yesterday for my CBR ressie and that change has not showed up yet...
I know he had to fax some stuff over so I'm going to give it another day. I would definitely recommend having them call wholesale though, it was much faster.

I've got a question...I'm linked with MDE now, but am unsure of magic bands. When I pull them up it has the address of CT to be shipped to, I'm supposed to change it to my address, correct? I feel like this should be obvious, but I've never done a third party booking before. TIA!

Yes, change them, and when I called to make our Magical Express reservations, I had them change the address there also. Didn't want my ME info going to Chicago!!! ;)

Thank you! I figured as much just wasn't positive.

Thank you everyone for the 25% coupon update and the extra per person charge tip.

Cheaptickets tried to charge an extra $37 per night by adding my 2 kids. I just kept it at my husband and I and will add my kids when I link to my Disney experience. Saved me $259!

Just got club level for 3 days at GF and 4 days at BC for an awesome price-

What I love most is being able to cancel the reservation up to just 5 days before vacation with no penalty.

Thanks again!

I booked 2 nights through Cheaptickets and did not add my son yet. We are not using DME, so I thought it may be easier to just add him when we arrive?

He's already in the system, as we are DVC & AP. I know I will not be able to order a magic band for him, but we have every color imaginable already, so that isn't an issue either. It's only 2 days so I am not worried about Fast Pass+ either for the 2 days prior to the vacation that we already have booked through DVC.

So does anyone see a problem with just showing up with him? He's 17, so I was just going to say he decided to come with us after all. ;)

I just booked our reservations thru cheaptickets. I called cheaptickets to change to include my 2 kids (Disney reservations would not help me). It took all of 15 minutes by the phone. It pulled up on MDE just fine right away.

What happens when/if you need to change your dates and/or your resort? Do you just cancel the current reservation and re-book? Can this be done online? Is there ever any fee to do this? Has anyone had problems doing this? (Prior to the 5-day Disney free cancelation, of course).

Yes. Yes. And no. Cheaptickets says they do not have a cancellation fee that is levied by them. You do have to take note of Disney's 5-day cancellation deadline.

And since you pay in full, remember that your old payment is going to be refunded and you'll be making a new one. Just in case you can't handle waiting for the first payment to be refunded.

Also, I've read about some issues booking children. Are the issues with children 3 and under or anyone 17 and under? I have a 15-year-old so would I have to call the WDTC after booking and speak to Wholesale? Do you only actually book the adults online then call the WDTC to add anyone under 17?

Issues with anyone. Currently, the Cheaptickets site is treating any guest, of any age, as an adult.

If you are not using DME, you can add him when you arrive as long as he isn't exceeding room capacity.

Just thought I'd give a quick update on my CT reservation.

1) I booked my CT reservation online for Easter week and saved $1500. Booked Poly CL TPV.

2) As I booked for just 2 adults because CT is charging for kids, I called Disney directly hoping to bypass having to call CT....didn't work, so I called CT and spoke with a very pleasant young lady named "Missy." I asked her to add my 2 kids. She put me on hold while she called Disney Wholesale. I was on hold exactly 4 minutes when she came back on the line telling me I was all set. Very slick! :thumbsup2 Of course, I immediately went on MDE and indeed my 2 kids were added -- well, their names weren't selected, but I just chose them from my drop-down menu since they were already added into my MDE.

Things I still need to do:

1) Call ME to add my flight info. Also there was mention to make sure they have my mailing address to mail my tags (and not CT address...).

2) Call IPO to be sure they can see my reservation and also to reserve a cabana. This will be the interesting part because I want to make a room request and I'm hoping they will have a way to put that on file for me.

So, I'm having a positive experience so far. It's just a little more work than usual, but saving $1500 and being able to stay where we really want to makes the extra time well worth it. I'll post again when I have more info.

WOW what a great saving...Congrats!!!:cheer2:

Who has a prediction of what the savings rate will be after 2/2 when the 25% expires? Looks like it might be crunch time for those of us on the fence:scratchin

WDWKOOK, I'm in the process of adding my kids, both age 9, and I will post back in this thread after doing so. I haven't made any calls yet as I'm reading all the relevant DIS threads first and writing down any helpful info.

I can tell you that I linked my CT reservation to MDE immediately after I received my email confirmation from CT (which was instant). So I'm very pleased with that. The thing that I think that might help my process is that I have my family of 4 already listed in MDE connected with our AP's. I'm hoping it will be an easy process for the agent to just "click" my kids rather than having to start from scratch.

Oh, no contact from IPO yet. I have a recollection of reading in a different thread where someone booked CL and did receive contact. I'm planning to actually call IPO because I want to reserve a cabana and they'll need my credit card number. So I'll see at that point if everything is in order.

I'll be back with an update....
Thank you and we also have APs so I think it will be seamless for you since everything is already in your MDX.

Well, I've cancelled from with Disney (after booking with CT) and CT (after getting the better cheaptastic code) and both were very easy. I called and did both cancellations. It just seemed like a better idea, then they could answer any questions I had. My refund from Disney showed on my cc 8 business days after canceling, and my CT refund show 3 business days after. There was NO fee from either. We booked 2 rooms so our boys could have one and we could have one, so I can't comment on the kiddos, but many have on this thread, so it is possible. I did have to re-do all my MDE, but it was also simple. Everything showed up immediately, even before I got the e-mail from CT. I was told by a Disney CM that I didn't need to worry about the reservation. It was showing and everything was fine!!! :goodvibes
I'm ashamed to admit that I have way too much experience canceling and changing WDW Resorts and dates so it's great to hear you've had a positive experience with CT changes.

Great update and thank you. You could also email the IPO anytime. Just put your confirmation number and last name in the subject heading and they should reply tomorrow. (But, don't be surprised if you get a HOWDY instead of an ALOHA…or possibly both;))

Okay, I'm a little lost after reading all the posts.

I'm booked through Orbitz because it came out cheaper for me. My trip is in late April. The room was easy to link to my MDE.

My confusion comes from some people saying we can't call Disney and make room requests. Are we 100% sure about that? Has anyone tried?

Yes, several of us have tried. Several have even reported that the CM they talked with tried to do something for them, but the system wouldn't let them. If you call Orbitz, they will call Disney for you and put in your requests and/or add kiddos to your reservation. :)

Hi Everyone.

We have everything all set up through Disney at the moment (MDE, room and room requests, dining rezzies, fast passes, magic bands, tickets).

If I do go the Cheaptickets route, I will save $ but will I be able able to link the existing dining rezzies, fast passes, magic bands and tickets to the Cheap Tickets Room reservation? Or will I have to start over and maybe lose my scheduled times.

Second, can I do online check in with a Cheapticket reservation?

Thanks for your help!

It will have no effect on your dining reservations. Room requests will be canceled and you will have to call Cheaptickets to have them done. You will still be able to do online check in. I do believe you would have to go back and reschedule your fast passes though and they will set you up with new magic bands. We revised our reservations several times for our last trip and they sent us new magic bands everytime but they all worked since they were all linked to MDE.

I can answer one of your questions. My dinner reservations were linked even after canceling our reservation. I did have to redo our Magical Express reservations, which was easy. I didn't have tickets at the time of booking, so I can't answer that one, sorry! :) And I'm pretty sure you can do the online check in, too!

I canceled a 1 night only at Pop yesterday then book POFQ yesterday through Cheaptickets. It cost me only $20 to go from a Standard Pop room to a Garden View at POFQ! Anyway, it took me one hour to book the room at CT, call CT to have children added (she called Disney), cancel Pop then set up ME to bring us from MCO to POFQ and set up our Magic Bands again. We aren't going until April and it's only a pre-cruise stay so no FP+ for us (we can't book that until the 17th anyway). Our Raglan Road ADR was still there.

We have a post cruise stay room only booked at WL. It's all paid off, but I would save $130 by going with CT. The only problem is that I made the first night deposit back in August 2013 with a debit card attached to a bank account we closed at the beginning of January. How would Disney refund me that money? Will it be one big headache?

For $130 I would just call Disney and explain that you need to cancel, and what is their policy when your original form of payment isn't an option. I can't believe that they would tell you you're out of luck. Maybe they'd have to mail a check, but you'd still get the money back. Hope it works our for you! :)

I almost did book a spring break trip with CT today, until I looked again at the "taxes and fees" and decided to actually breakdown what were taxes and what were fees which lead to me calling SoG and...

It turned out that almost 5% were fees which made the 25% off code closer to 20%. There is nothing wrong with that amount of savings during a period otherwise blacked-out for discounts (we usually use the military 40% or AP rate). But, this made the savings closer to what I could get with a SoG overflow rate.

Just to recap, during military and AP rate black-outs, I have booked SoG overflow rates of 20% off. These are available to SoG eligible guests when SoG is fully booked. In the past, you couldn't book a CL room through SoG (we love WL) and CT had no "Promo Code Eligible" WL rooms at all from 4/14-19 so I was going to book BWI instead.

I noticed that the CT fees made the discount closer to 20%, so I decided to give SoG a call to compare their total price to CT's. SoG was a bit higher since it was only 20% off, but I was willing to book with them since I wouldn't have to do anything to add our DD, I could easily add room requests and I have past experience with them and feel comfortable with them. As I was almost ready to book BWI through SoG, I decided to ask again if I could book a CL room. For many years, I've asked and have always been told NO. This time, I was told YES so I booked WL-CL for spring break at 20% off.

When you are comparing CT discounts with other discounts, make sure to compare the bottom line, "out the door" price with the taxes and fees, not just the nightly room rate. The difference might not be much, but I also think it's worth something to feel comfortable with your choice.

Good luck and I hope the next CT discount is even better for everyone:teacher:

We made the switch from a CSR Standard room to a POR Garden View from getting the Orbitz 15% promo code, but the CT promo code was just better. We originally wanted POR (we're from the southwest! haha) but was just right out of our budget originally, CT saved us another $50 from our original CSR booking. We decided it was definitely worth it to book a hotel with a theme we liked better, and save $50 more. Though, it overall saved us over $400 from the disney website . :thumbsup2

BTW, Cancellations were made immediately, and our new reservation was put in within record time. Magic bands already customized and ready to go! Money was also refunded very quickly. Haven't called yet to reserve/change ME, will sometime early this week. :)
