Cute pose Morgan :cutie:
Someone else a few weeks ago suggested Dharma trading company, so I bought the shirts from there when I bought the dye from them. All they sell are tye-dye stuff, so I am hoping their shirts are good. I am going to do them this afternoon after my DD4 heads to preschool. I don't think that I want her around this project! I have the shirts prepped (the mickeys drawn, basted and tied off, so I just have to dye them. When you say use hot water, do you mean for the presoak in soda ash, the water to make the dye or the post wash in the washer?

Also, has anyone ever done a post wash in a front loader? They generally recommend filling the washer and then putting the clothes in, but that doesn't work for my washer.
The dye water should be as hot as you can stand. We did ours in buckets on the floor so we heated up the water before mixing it in the dye bucket. Not boiling but HOT!
I don't have a front loader but just make sure you rinse and ring out with lots of cold water before you wash them to minimize the bleeding in the wash.
I ran a rinse cycle 2 times before "washing" with detergent. We didn't have any trouble with bleeding.
My dh, ds (who was about 3.8 at the time) and I did it together- well the actual dyeing part. He really liked it. I have pics in my TR- :goodvibes

Now, I know his will be hard to imitate, but try to work these into your pictures! ;)

I am going to work these in next pictures!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

I used to buy the elastic in the precut packages. Then I found out Joann's includes the by the yard elastic in the "50% off notions wall sale" :cheer2: :cheer2: . So I stock up during that sale!

I had no idea they sell elastic by the yard..I was just complaining last night how expensive elastic are. I have been buying the prepackage ones. Will have to stock up next time Joann have their 50% off notions sale.

Well, I definitely have the "Emily" pose!

We are going to WDW in June 7-14...do you think it will be too hot for denim pants? When we were there last year at the end of August, it was sooo hot. Trying to figure out what dd will wear when we are there...and was wondering if I should just buy some denim pants (and try and put ruffles/applique on them), or just make some lighter weight cotton pants....now that I have figured out the YCMT pants pattern!

Thank you for all the nice comments about my DD. (I think she is adorable too-but have been told I may be biased:confused3 ). :lmao: :lmao:

I am not so sure she will be happy when she finds out I posted those pics LOL. When those were taken, she had only been home for a few months. I was NOT her favorite person ( I am now LOL)

Well I am off to sew for the Bitty Twins! (How do you think I got to be her favorite person? LOL)

I don't know if this post should be here but I need some much needed links to those of you who sell your Disney Boutique outfits....
I only have till August as we are planning on going in Sept....

Thanks so much!

I will tell you in advance that I will need at least a size 6X, possibly a 7 depending on the garment.

I can't wait to get a sewing machine!

MIL never has time to do her outfits anymore..:(

Thanks
Forgive me if I wasn't supposed to post this here.

Valerie~

I've seen so many great things lately! I am actually going to join in the fun. I put a couple of picture on photobucket last night so here are a couple of things I've made in the last few months.

This is Drew's Thanksgiving outfit. She wore it to school the last day before Christmas break too.

Drew asked for a special birthday outfit. There is a 6 on the skirt of the dress that you can barely see. I actually played a dirty trick on her. She loves that rainbow rick rack and well, I don't! She is always begging me to put it on everything and I never ever do! So, I was buying this fabric and thought, "I can put that on this dress and she'll love it and I'll never have to see it again!" Win, win!

Well, those are the only two I have up so far. I have a couple of others that I will try to get up later!

I've loved everything and have been stealing tons of ideas from all of you!!!!! Keep up the good work.

These are great outifts! The monkeys are really cute! Good for you on getting to use the rainbow rick rack!

Weird but funny sock monkey story coming!!!
When I was little, my sister and I got a sock monkey as a present. Well, we didn't like him. He looked like a big ugly boy doll. So we got scissors and cut out all the cotton balls, put those in a tupperware bottle and stuffed the monkey sock under our bed. Not sure why we picked the tupperware bottle for the innards. But at age 2 and 4 it just worked for us. Maybe we were creeped out by the cotton balls, I don't know.

I have worn denim shorts before (I have been twice in June) and it was really hot. I would probably stick to light weight cotton pants, etc. Also, if she plays in any of the interactive fountains or rides a ride that she might get wet on, denim takes a lot longer to dry as well -- just a thought.

HA HA! I have some BLOOPERS in my photobucket too....

Yes, June is way too hot for denim pants. Shorts would probably be o.k., as long as they are loose. We made the mistake of putting the girls in their denim bermudas and they were boiling! I suggest as little clothing as possible.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement on my outfits! And thanks for saying Drew's cute. Every mom loves to hear that. I swear sometimes I need someone to remind me!!!!! She is sooooo much more "mature" than her oldest sister was at that age. I think Riley was at least 8 before she knew that I wasn't the coolest thing ever. Drew figured it out at about 18 mos.! Girls with older sisters learn way too much from them!

I have a blooper, too. Sorry anyone who's read my PTR, this is a repeat...

I have plenty others, too. My kids don't like to just pose and smile for pics. They like to "pose".
