OH! You mean a diaper pin!

Which is my highly effective red neck doo-dad! :rotfl2:

he he! That's what I use. Actually, I use a little bitty pin 'cause that works better for little bitty waistbands. That's the my mom always did it so that's the way I do it. :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm posting again to get my post count up again on this new thread!

Saturday night we were eating at a friend's house and one of my friends and neighbors brought up taking the kids to a movie. I commented that the last movie we had seen with the kids was Enchanted. My friend Kristen says, oh, I used to date James Marsden (I think that's his name anway) when I was in college (at Oklahoma State University). I asked which character was he? The prince! How do you date somebody like that and forget to tell your friends? I would have been pretty excited that someone I dated was famous now and probably have told everyone I knew!

It is so windy here in Dallas that my gas grill (a big heavy Weber one) has fallen over three times (I picked it up twice but this time I'm just letting it lie there, that's got to be better than continually falling over, right?) and it broke my dog's food stand in half! They said we had sustained winds of 25 mph and gusts 50-65 mph! You think you're getting blown away. It is nice and warm (68 degrees) but too windy to go outside.

Okay, so that is it for my shameless post boosting!

Please help a newbie! Let me start by saying I am amazed at the beautiful work you ladies have done - you have inspired me to drag out my never used sewing machine my parents bought me 10 years agao for my b-day!

My problem is where do I start? I think I know how to thread the machine, but I have never used a sewing machine. I can't really go out and take a class, but are there any good books or online tutorials you all can recommend?
Please remember I am a complete novice at this!

welcome and you are starting at a great time while your little ones are still "little"

try some singer books, they are a good place to start!

I was sooooo touched by Cindee's (livndisney) generosity for sending me the Pokemon fabric and by all the other wonderful ladies around here that give stuff away or help others out by finding fabric, making stuff, etc. that I thought I would pay it forward too.

I have been in love with 2cutekidz Pooh storybook skirt and today I found some Nemo. I just couldn't pass up the price and bought 3 of them. I am going to put 2 of them up to hopefully use for our next trip (maybe in '09) and I will give the other away.

Here is a pic:

I think it will make an adorable skirt (this is what I am planning to use it for), you could use it for appliques or even make the storybook.

For those that are interested send me a PM. I will take pm's until 8 am tomorrow morning and then I will have Parker draw the winning name out of hat. If you are new and don't have pm set up yet, let me know on this thread!

All of you ladies (and Tom, too) are sew sweet! What a great thing to do. Good luck to all!

And when are we getting another hint from CastleCreations? I'm assuming no one has guessed her middle name yet.

that is awsome. What a great "gift". I may just have to get in the pay it forward mood, and find a lil disney thingy to spread some pixi dust with

could you all please say some prayers or send some vibes my way if you are not a prayer. Silly request but ever since this nasty MRSA  came into our lives 2 1/2 wks ago I have become a germaphobe. I know there is nothing wrong with being clean, but I used to know that germs needed a home too. Well now it seems like all I do is clean, I can't get things clean enough and it is freaking me out. I like clean, don't get me wrong but I used to be able to sit down when DH would get home and just enjoy family time, not anymore. I feel all freaked out inside if a crumb is dropped. If I dont' lysol the laundry it isn't clean. :scared1: :scared1: The camodes get lysol sprayed on them after every use and get thoroughly liquid lysoled at the end of the day. I just want to be able to relax but I live in fear of this MRSA. Once you have it, it never goes away, it lays dormant and rears its ugly head whenever it wants to. I just want to be normal again. please. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

  I know how you feel. I felt this way after my kids caught a bad stomach bug called Shegalla. They had to have antibiotics to get rid of it. I had never even heard of it before. Seeing them doubled over in pain bothered me a lot. I hate public restrooms a lot now. It only takes a tiny amount of this germ to make you sick. So I was wiping everything down with Chlorox wipes. DH and I didn't catch it due to my cleaning frenzy. Anyways, sorry to hear about the MRSA. After some time I felt better about home, but not for the public bathrooms

Well, that is my new siggy and is still tentative (DH hasn't agreed yet) but the kids have 3 days off school and it is DS5's birthday and we're hoping for Mickey's Halloween Treat again, we loved that last year! My nephew is getting married in June, possibly in So. Cal so hopefully we can squeeze in a day or two of Disney then, but DH has no time off work so not sure how that'll work out. It's all mostly wishful thinking at this point.

Hi everyone! just checking in and realize the last time I was on there was only about 13 pages and now 67!:scared1: So needless to say I will NOT be catching up! I did see Anastasia's pic, that is one great pic! Love the attitude!:rotfl: I love the world pics and the castle pics! REALLY PRETTY! Hope all is well with everyone, we have just been really busy and my little one hasn't been feeling well so I haven't been able to keep up! I did have a question:

HOW DO YOU ALL FIND THE BOUTIQUE STUFF ON :wizard: ? I don't guess I am searching for the right things? If you can't post the answer just pm me please! I am always looking for inspiration, but never seem to find anything! Please if someone could help me out? TIA!

Check out the bookmarks in my siggy and in the first post of this thread for some sewing class type tutorials and lots of free patterns. Look under tips and techniques (or something like that!).

And, :welcome:
