Here's dd2 in her Nemo custom at wdw on 12/1/07 - I think I found more of that ocean fabric at the nifty little sewing shop on Saturday. It was up high on a shelf, so I couldn't see for sure. But, I will be going back soon to see!
th_resizedemma3.jpg
Love it cute- the tee is great!!!
Don't you just love how dd2's pants blend so well with Minnie's skirt. This is the Walmart dots and I think they look much better than the stuff from Joanns.
th_minnie4resized.jpg
I have never seen minnie dot at any of the walmarts here- do they carry it seasonally??
Wasn't sure if I posted this here or not. I made dd7 a Cinderella cleaning dress to wear to CRT (that's what she wanted!) and dd8 a Jasmine custom.
th_crt4.jpg
They are all cuties!!
Here is dd2's Little Einstein outfit, also dd8 in front of her showing off her Dream FP that we got at MGM.

Did you paint her jeans??

You guys are chatty!!! And the kids talk too much!!!:rotfl2:

Cute! That's the shirt from DISdesigns right? I love the whole outfit together.

That is super cool. Megan's dot was a little darker than minnie's but the one I am working on now looks like a closer match.

Have we seen this close up? I can't remember. It is great and now you are number one!

Wow, you did all that without a pattern? That is very cool and I can't wait to see it on.

I love the muted Pooh over the bright colored Pooh. That is so pretty and I really liked how the jeans came out. Yay: you're done!

I am here too, I have to catch up though. DD 6 came down with MRSA and had been on antibiiotics for 2 wks. Then my mother who lives with us ended up in the hospital because she was in pain and we didn't know why, turns out my 77 yr old diabetic mom had an open wound on her leg and never said anything and now she is in the hospital with a wound vac on and will likely need one more surgery, she too has MRSA we think she had it first and let it go. A word of caution to you all if you have a mark on you that you THINK is a spider bite, or a boil, GO TO THE DR get it checked. I hope the rest of you are doing well. Good to have a new home I guess.
Lori

So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope your daughter is doing better now. I'm glad you found us!

It's not a competition?! Isn't that what the loser always says! :confused3
I feel "snooty" coming on....

I can see it, does it cut off for anyone else?

Oh, now you are sounding like Jacob.Don't make me stop this car!

I can see your sig and all your cute smilies.

These are super cute!! I hope you have a fabulous time!!

Thanks!!!

Adorable!!!!

Thanks!!

Maureen, this is a cute outfit! Did you make the jumper and top too? Are you getting very excited!!!???!!!

I made it all! First time doing a peasant top. First time doing a stripwork jumper, and first time doing stripwork flare jeans!!!

I love the muted Pooh over the bright colored Pooh. That is so pretty and I really liked how the jeans came out. Yay: you're done!

Yes I really like this Pooh, but found it hard to really have other colors go with it. I didn't want to do brown!

OK how old is the dot? I guess there in no chance in hell of me finding it now? DD 14 has requested a "Minnie" dress for the night we eat dinner at the Yachtsman.

One last shameless post to put me at the top
th_ppak6.jpg

That is so sweet! And I have to laugh that you call things whatever the picture name is ... resized too. :lmao:

I just finished the jeans to go with my Pooh outfit. I love how all of this came together. Very subtle and feminine. I am now officially done sewing for out trip! Only have to suffer through today and tomorrow at home!

This is the stripwork jumper and peasant top:

To precious I love the jeans!

Here is Pierre!! So far he's a pretty easy dog. I don't think he's gotten off the couch, except to go outside! The poor thing, we are his 5th home in 7 years. He lived at the breeder's house until he was 1 1/2 (but she couldn't use him for breeding). Then, he went to another person, who gave him to her MIL because she didn't realize how much responsibility a dog is. The MIL gave him to the woman we got him from because she was moving to Florida (and why didn't she take him with her? :confused3). The girl we got him from is moving to Canada and said it's too expensive to take him over the border and she didn't want him to go through quarantine. But, she's taking her two cats. :confused3 Anyway, we're glad to have him. He seems like a little sweetheart. As you can probably see from the picture, he and Josie aren't too sure of each other yet. I was mean and made them sit next to each other for the picture.

th_DSC05835Small.jpg
They are so cute! We have had a Frazier, a Zoe, and a Shadow that looked just like them. ;)

Thanks for the tips on clothing ladies.

Now my next question ... if one were to really think they were going to start sewing and they were going shopping. What would you buy to stock up on? Or would you just play it by ear? I mean things that no sewer should be without? I have needles and straight pins. A ripper, good sissors, my couple of feet. Any other good ideas on notions it is good to have around?

Ok Saturday night I was looking at vintage patterns online, and I found the cutest reversible, wraparound, jumper dress. The person selling it only had one copy of the pattern and it was a size 12. Way too big for DD. So I thought about it and decided that it was too simple to buy a pattern for and decided to just make it up myself. So here is what I was doing from 12:00 am Sunday until 3:00 am Sunday.

th_CIMG0523.jpg
This is the bottom back of the dress. Those little triangles were a pain in the nose to do.

th_CIMG0522.jpg
The purple front.

th_CIMG0521.jpg
The pink bottom back.

th_CIMG0520.jpg
And the pink front. DD doesn't like the ribbons, so I have to replace them. I was thinking about Disneyfying this dress with something Princessy. DD thinks that the bottom looks like a cheerleader outfit. If I ever do another one I will do it a little differently.
That is cute- lots of possibilities for embellishing!!

That is very springy!! Love it!! How far up is the fabric??
Hmmm, I don't know that I have a picture of my first attempt! It was a pair of seersucker shorts. Very comfy!

I can't see the bottom of Heather's siggy! It cuts off about halfway up Nemo! It must be my screen size. Can everyone else see the whole thing?
I can see it fine.
I am going to look for pictures right now!!

How in the heck are there 47 pages in 4 days! Goodness gracious!
Glad I found y'all.

Ok, I'm giving up. I just can't keep up!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love all the outfits, and I am going to have to CASE the one with the heart-shaped mickey ears!!

Heather, congrats on your new dog. I know I love mine!

Welcome to all the newbies! I am not that far removed from being one myself. My new sewing machine has been shipped, and I am anxious to have it delivered. I have been holding off sewing until it comes! I am excited to get a machine that does more that zig zag and straight stitch!

Awww, Pierre is so cute! He is very lucky to have finally found his family! Love the doggie outfits! I'm about ready to get a new dog, DH is not so sure. Too bad! The last dog we had, DH's brother gave us for Christmas :scared1: and DH brought him home and said "surprise!" So I won't feel too guilty. Maybe DH will be getting a puppy for his birthday in March :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Guess I lost my other quote, if I forgot to mention it before, Camping Griswalds, the pooh bear outfit is very cute! Love the jeans.

I have a little plastic box that I throw in my "essentials." In it I have

*Sharp scissors
*Pinking shears
*Pencil
*Seam ripper
*Tape Measure
*Pin cushion and pins
*Rotary cutter
*Bodkin
*Scotch tape
*Disappearing ink pen

These are the things I use on almost every project so I keep them near. I also have a cutting mat and plastic ruler that came with the rotary cutter. HTH!

Ok here are some pictures I found in my scrapbook-my aunts made it for me for my graduation. The title of the page is what I want to be when I grow up:
This is me at my grandmas sewing machine when I was about 3 or 4.

I was about 13 here and my grandma had a knitting machine- I won first place at the county fair and a sweepstakes ribbon. I recall making a couple of these for different babies in the family.

I know someone that is MIA I just thought about it ... adoptionmama? Has she been over here? I miss seeing her little one in her siggy she is such a cutie.

Thank you Stephres ... I had to look up what a bodkin was  but I can really see how it would be a good thing to have now!

so....the old threads are NOT coming back?

I just want to THANK TeresaJoy(ce) for cataloging them for us....on page one.

OH NO! Is there still a page one catalog?
edited to add: WHEW!!!!! I freaked out for a second! ((blush))

Yes, the bookmarks are still here. However, any links that linked to something in the thread (directions given by posters, or pics of something specific - pictures of all those great organizational ideas come to mind) are no good unless they bring the old thread back. I'm still hoping they bring it back because there is WAY too much information there to lose.

This is adorable! I love the tulle under the other part of the skirt.

Tough question. It sounds like you have the most essential basics. Of course, the obvious, FABRIC!

Yes, this thread is moving very, very fast. I don't know that I'll be able to keep up. There's so many conversations going on here, that it's difficult to keep it sorted in my brain. That's the biggest reason I prefer a board set up. The conversations that I don't NEED to read, I can skip. The ones that I want to read, it's already disected for me. It just seems for me that it takes twice as long to read the original message, then several posts down read the original message again, and then read the response, and then several posts down, do it all again. But that's just me.

Oh no, I hope your daughter and Mom are doing better really soon! How scar for you!

What is this MTV you speak of? Teresa and I had to stay up late on Friday nights and watch Friday Night Videos. :happytv: We didn't have cable. Teresa still doesn't!
What was that guys name???

yep, I only have rabbit ears on top of my TV. But, I did put an Eeyore antena topper on them! :)
I've often said she's lucky she's so cute!
What are you saying about me? :confused3
I just got a PM from fortheluvofpooh. She was lost, so I pointed her to our home.
Karebear1 just PMed me too. She was a lost Diser!
I can see it, does it cut off for anyone else?
I even changed my monitor settings, but I STILL can't see the whole thing, unless you reply to a post with a big picture! It's so cute too!
Mom has/had a picture of Tessa amid a sea of straws, too. I wish I would have gotten it from her. It might have gotten erased by now, knowing dad.
Oh no, not the dreaded "delete all"! :scared1:
Our Dad doesn't know how to get the pictures off his digital camera, so when the card is full, he just deletes all of the pictures and starts over. Good idea, no? :rotfl:

Here is Pierre!!

The Minnie Dot was considered a costume fabric for Halloween. Hancock's sometimes gets it in at different times during the year. Do a search for Minnie Dot on their site.

I made it all! First time doing a peasant top. First time doing a stripwork jumper, and first time doing stripwork flare jeans!!!
You did a great job!!! :thumbsup2 I thought you bought it on :wizard: until I saw that you posted you finished the pants! Way to go Maureen!

That's more like it!! They are cute!! Are you making a matching shirt or an applique tee to go with them??

I am planning on making an applique tee to go with it... I am thinking maybe I will applique "BLAST OFF" and then cut out rocket and applique it on there as well...this should be interesting because I have only done one mickey's head applique!

I love the shirt/skirt...I haven't seen a lot of Nemo fabric in our Joanns or Hancock.

Wasn't sure if I posted this here or not. I made dd7 a Cinderella cleaning dress to wear to CRT (that's what she wanted!) and dd8 a Jasmine custom.

Very cute outfit! I love fabric combination.

I have also had no luck finding the "minnie mouse" style fabric, you know the red fabric with white dots. So I ordered some from voldemort (hehe I think that is so funny)

Do you have a Hancock? I bought whatever that was left (about 3 yds) at my Hancock not that long ago...
