ok so this is what I have been up to since I was MIA for a few days!!!

Lori- I thought this was cute before Jo Jo had it on but now . . . . .

OMG!!! It is adorable!!!! I just love it. I love the gold coins and the rainbows were so cleaver! I feel like I am cheating now with Hannah's little Patty skirt! LOL She better not see this!

I'm on the laptop and don't know how to drive it yet so no multiquoting just yet.

but WOW you are all so clever. Every day I come on just to be inspired by all the talent.

I'm also very very jealous at the beautiful fabrics you have access to and you all know how to match them perfectly.

Well only a wee bit of sewing from me but I can't post a pic just yet as the recipient hasn't received it (hope she doesn't mind that I'm still a newbie sewer lol) but I've been doing lots of knitting (maybe I should post pics of those as I'm starting to feel left out ). But I have been planning. But I need some ideas for an outfit to wear to medievel times (for the girls to wear I mean). Any ideas?? it's all new to me what actually happens at all these parks and themed things so I have no idea where to start but I know someone here will amaze me with their creativity

I hadn't thought to make a custom for Medieval Times (you mean the restaurant dinner show, right?) That's a great idea! I would think just a renaisance style princess dress would work. AimeeG made a cute dress for her daughter that would be adorable. It's blue and should be in the bookmarks. The pattern companies have rennaisance style patterns in the pattern books too.

Flea, I'll have DD take a picture in her ren faire garb tomorrow, she wears and Irish dress with a long chemise under it. We're one of those weird families that go to the ren faire all dressed up. I'm more into pirate reenacting now that ren faire stuff but that's only because we had actually pirates in the family. Guess that explains the relations in Australia.

I love doing ren garb... The only thing I don't make myself is bodices, I require WAY too much boning and civil engineering to do it myself. It's worth it to just pay someone to do that part for me.

I went into the computer to look for a faire shot from this year, I can't find them, I thought DH had a few but they aren't on our website or my computer. I'll have to have him check his later.

If the girls didn't want to go as princesses, you could always just make a quick little peasant top, a longer skirt just use a rectangle and put in a hem and a casing for elastic, and make a little waist cincher without and boning in it.

I am heading off to bed for the night. I've got to make sure I'm up in time to finish packing both DD and my gym bags and her ballet bag. Busy day tomorrow, the swim session overlaps with the last night of ballet. Hopefully DD will be to tired to fight the whole bed thing. She's been working hard at sleeping in her own room, she was a co-slept kid, it's just too much now, she's too big and her and DH are pushing me out. She still comes in but she at least starts the night in her bed, she's good about coming in, she remembers all her stuff and just climbs in.

OK here they are DUCT TAPE DRESS FORMS!

I got these off of Teresajoy's bookmark and boy where they fun to make. I first used colored duct tape, but DD8 didn't like how they came out so I did them again in the usual color. The taping the kids up wasn't a problem (actually enjoyable) but the cutting them out of it up their back - a little painful and scary for both girls. Stuffed it with paper, taped up the back and the top and poof you have your own personalized dress form. I'm going to find a way to get a pole up the center so it's a little more stable, but for right now it will work. Now I can get started on DD5's Ariel shirt and skirt.

Very nice - I don't think my sewing skills will be enough to make something like this though. But it is very very gorgeous. I better start practicing if I want to be able to do something half as nice as this

Thanks so much!!! Jennwdw is making a bow for the dress. She did all of Leslies bows. We are also going to see Mary Poppins on Broadway sometime this spring so my DD can wear this there too.

The Ariel turned out great!! The mickey tee is cute- It will look great with a tutu!!

What she isn't going to have a kitty coming out of the corset at the party..... They are all very cute!!!

I found a brown top that I came home and modified a bit for my AK shirt to match Chris. Here it is. I found the necklace and earrings too.

I still need to finish the ends of the ties.

And brian with the fish- Those northern pikes they do hiss and they have teeth!! They are kinda scary!!
My dad used to go cat fishing. Now those are scary looking fish!!! And they are huge- One year when I was little like maybe 5-6 yrs old he brought one home that was as big as my sister!! I think I might have pictures- not sure where they might be hmmmmm.
