DEANN - Love it all! The Dumbo is really, really great! Did you free hand it?

I"M BACK IN BUSINESS! UPS delivered my new ruffler foot. I think I like it better than my old one anyway. It doesn't jerk around near as much as the old one. ANYWAY, I was able to finish up the Cinderella pillowcase dress. I'll get pics posted soon.

I have a Singer Futura 150. It is a sewing/embroidery combo. I only use it for embroidery, though. I LOVE my sewing machine too much not to use it. Brother is the only machine that has an arrangement with Disney to embroider their designs. However, there are many sources to find Disney designs that have been digitized by an individual and that individual is selling their designs. (:wizard: ) I have several Disney applique designs for my embroidrey machine.

I don't have much advice on the rolled hem and gathering feet since I use my sewing machine for my ruffler, and my serger for the rolled edge hem.

Well, I was going to buy a new serger that does rolled hems and gathering. But, I thought I'd rather spend the $$ on an embroidery machine, then get the attachments for my machine and just use my old serger for finishing hems. Does that make sense?

I'm looking at the Brother Disney PE400D ... anyone have that one?

It is a pieced applique, if that's what you mean. It was fun, and dd2 LOVES Dumbo and this is her favorite so far :)

Ok, here are some things I've done lately:

A nightgown for my dgd2. I'm going to send this to her for Vday.

Carrie & Tom those outfits are so cute. And spongie great job on Norahs outfit too!! Did she make the bow too?? or was that you UM??
I can't believe how fast kids grow up.

Very cute skirt. I think it looks great without the ruffle.

YAYYYY! I found ya!!! I reeeeealy hope we didn't lose all our "history!"

This is the dress Misty (Spongie) made for Norah. She wore it to school yesterday and LOVED it! She got tons ooooh's and ahhh's from other-mamas and teachers. :cool2:

For the picture, she would NOT cooperate  so I bribed her with GUM (which she never gets!)...

She did not get any.

Please forgive her pissy moment. We were running late for pre-school.
Aww that is a cute outfit. sorry she was uncooperative. What's up with 3 year olds? My DS is uncooperative too. .
Look what I did today, at the expense of my dirty house:

Just a reminder, it goes with this outfit:

Hey Nancy! Guess what I got in the mail today? Sophie/Scrappy on my JoAnn's circular! Megan said, how did they get a picture of Scrappy? :rotfl:
I love the American Girl outfit! Isn't that dachshund a cutie pie?:cutie: Sophie is wearing her coat around the house. I think she likes it. I may add some more velcro to help it fit better.
Here's some photos from our trip!!!

Where is everyone's boy stuff!!
ok here is one of mine!

Lori

YAY for the boy stuff!!! I LOVE that "vintage" style Mickey fabric!!!! Reminds me of my childhood! SOOO Cute! Great job!!! My boys totally got left out with the customs!I'm totally going to make them some jammie bottoms! Thanks for the inspiration!!!:goodvibes

I used a peasant top pattern for both of them. You just make a stitch 1/4" from your edge then make your casing from there. That creates a ruffle that's really cute.

Posting all those pictures was like an adventure! Hopefully the next outfits will be posted in ones and twosies.
Thanks for all your kind words. I love this thread!!! It keeps me creative!

No apologizing! Spongie you did a great job! UMama, where have you been?

OK, Guys I am going to take a break from the Dis for awhile. I need to get off these boards some are just weirding me out, so I need to "step back" and figure out if I belong on the Dis:confused3

I need a favor though, once they decide what they want to do with the boards and were our thread is going to be, can someone PM me please?

Thanks!

Hope all is okay.

Uh, gorgeous!

Last year, before my trip, I was frequenting the huge thread for a while, then when we came back, life got in the way! I never thought it would be this long until I got back. I promised to post a picture of my first effort at that time. I never did it. I made seven days worth of outfits for my daughter and my niece.

Here it is. I look at it now and say "what was I thinking?"

th_image39.jpg

I actually made a kind of a t-shirt dress from a tank top, cut out part of the design from the fabric and appliqued it onto the top, outlined with puffy glittery fabric paint.

Somewhere I have pictures of a few of the other things, but this was easiest to find as it was from photopass :)

Would love to see more! We all started somewhere!

Here is me in May 1980 hugging the Mouse! I have the blue shorts and the Tube top. I was 7 years old almost 8. My brother is sticking his hand in Mickey's Mouth. My sister is wearing the light blue shorts and the striped top.

The little guy with the white blond hair in the lower left corner is my other brother he was only 2 1/2.

We all stayed in a tent in Fort Wilderness. It was so HOT. This was my second trip to WDW.

All you guys that went to disney as kids are SO lucky!!! I wish I had :sad1:
My first trip to disney was my honeymoon!!! And now my 4 yr. old has been there twice!!! He doesn't know how good hes got it!!:goodvibes

This I'm sorry to say will be my last post for the evening. My Aunt called me to tell me that her granddaughter, Jenna's cousin who stayed over last weekend, has head lice. I checked DD's hair when she came home from school and found nits. :scared1: Straight to the store for some shampoo and it's gonna be a long night making sure there are no eggs or bugs left over. :scared1: is all I can say. This is my first time to deal with this as the mom. There isn't going to be any hot water left when I get done washing all the bedding.
Okay, this just made my head itch. There was a big lice outbreak here last year-the stores ran out of the shampoo to treat- luckily we didn't get it but it gives me the heebie jeebies.

You're almost as tall as Mickey. Love the shorts and tank. Great pics. We went in 1984 but we didn't see any of the characters, no clue where any of the pics would be.

I have no prob. with opening the leg. Just with sewing it back up! I mean, it really bends me and my needles out of shape!!! Is there some trick or should I just get over it?

Hmm...I'm wondering why it bends your needle. I've never had a problem with that. I just put the two right sides together and stitch through the two layers, along where the seam used to be, and then zig zag the raw edge. Have you tried maybe a stronger needle, like for upholstery or for denim. I have a denim needle on my machine now, but I use it for everything...LOL

I've been looking at that picture trying to figure that out. :confused3 I think he is kneeling down. I am not very tall and I know I wasn't very tall in second grade:rotfl2:
