Yep, just add an inch or so to the bottom of the bodice.

I am making myself a few ribbon tees like these...

IMG_2795.jpg
IMG_2794.jpg

Even made DH a polo...

IMG_2792.jpg

This set I made for DD is no sew! I used Alenne's ok to wash it...

IMG_1201.jpg

ohhhh I love them all! Ok I am so making them all!

Tomorrow after I spray DD's room I will be working on a Mardi Gras dress for DD to wear to our town's Mardi Gras parade next Sunday. :sad1: I wanted to make a Mardi Gras clown outfit for DD, but she said no. :sad1: I know she will like the dress that I'm making her (she picked out the pattern and the material so she better like it. JK).

YAYYYY! I found ya!!! I reeeeealy hope we didn't lose all our "history!"

This is the dress Misty (Spongie) made for Norah. She wore it to school yesterday and LOVED it! She got tons ooooh's and ahhh's from other-mamas and teachers. :cool2:

For the picture, she would NOT cooperate  so I bribed her with GUM (which she never gets!)...

She did not get any.
th_Pict0035A.jpg

Please forgive her pissy moment. We were running late for pre-school.

Oh, poor poor little Norah! Naughty Mommy for not giving our little sweetie pie a piece of gum!!!!! Auntie Teresa would have given her some!

She looks so adorable in that dress! Misty did a great job on it!!!

OK, Guys I am going to take a break from the Dis for awhile. I need to get off these boards some are just weirding me out, so I need to "step back" and figure out if I belong on the Dis:confused3

I need a favor though, once they decide what they want to do with the boards and were our thread is going to be, can someone PM me please?

Thanks!
Oh no, we'll really miss you around here.

Carrie, great photos! You could never bore us with you creativity!

I found this photo from a few years ago. My like second outfit I ever made!
Lets see. Leigh was about 2 1/2. She'll be 6 next month! Where oh where does the time fly?
th_Leighanna_1-1.jpg

I gave up after this one, until about a year ago!
Aww, that is so sweet!!!!

Here is what I made last night- since I couldn't be on the boards-
Still haven't decided about the bottom to ruffle or not to ruffle that is the question???

Carrie & Tom those outfits are so cute. And spongie great job on Norahs outfit too!! Did she make the bow too?? or was that you UM??
I can't believe how fast kids grow up.
That is really cute!!! I say ruffle!
Last year, before my trip, I was frequenting the huge thread for a while, then when we came back, life got in the way! I never thought it would be this long until I got back. I promised to post a picture of my first effort at that time. I never did it. I made seven days worth of outfits for my daughter and my niece.

Here it is. I look at it now and say "what was I thinking?"

th_image39.jpg

I actually made a kind of a t-shirt dress from a tank top, cut out part of the design from the fabric and appliqued it onto the top, outlined with puffy glittery fabric paint.

Somewhere I have pictures of a few of the other things, but this was easiest to find as it was from photopass
I think it looks cute!

Ok, here are some things I've done lately:

A nightgown for my dgd2. I'm going to send this to her for Vday.
th_IMG_0298.jpg
Aww, that is so cute!!! Riley is going to love it!!!
Dd7 designed this dress (with my help, but she thinks it was all her idea :)).

I love that!!! So pretty!

Dumbo for dd2

Love it!!!

Here is me in May 1980 hugging the Mouse! I have the blue shorts and the Tube top. I was 7 years old almost 8. My brother is sticking his hand in Mickey's Mouth. My sister is wearing the light blue shorts and the striped top.

The little guy with the white blond hair in the lower left corner is my other brother he was only 2 1/2.

We all stayed in a tent in Fort Wilderness. It was so HOT. This was my second trip to WDW.
That is a great picture!!!

Hi everyone! I'm definately not new here. You old timers should recognize me;) Just thought I'd pop in and subscribe to the new thread. Every now and then, I come see what you all have been up to. I just can't keep up with the speed of this thread. It's almost a full-time job!:rotfl:

YEAH! Nice to see you! Of course we remember you!

th_sewing006.jpg

Now my question is this looking more boy like to you guys or is it just me? I am seriously pondering putting it up and waiting till I get a little boy (very big possibility). My little one I am making this for I just got word they are starting to look at Grandma as a possible placement for her and I think she will be gone before she really grows into it ... it is a size to big.

My second question for those of you that applique. We are going in Dec again ... I have NO idea who or how many will be with us when we go. We have gotten 2 rooms just to make sure we can accomadate any kiddos we might have and be able to talk a judge into letting us take with us. Obviously I want those kiddos to match the rest of us. Can I do applique work on just the fabric part of the applique and then attatch it to an outfit later if need be? Or would it pucker on the shirt ... pants ... or whatever?
Stop being so hard on yourself, these look great!!
I agree that a little ric rac would make it look very girly, or just a little peasant top underneath.

Lydia saw these last night, and wants a pair now!

Ohhh... I also have a fear of cotton balls. They are not even in our house. I shudder just thinking about touching them. And a wet cotton ball would put me in the nut house!!! :rotfl: I also hate the vegetable Hominy simply because I think it looks a little like wet cotton soaked in butter??? I have issues. LOL! I also have a fear of the following in no particular order: corn fields, crunching apples, the names of bodily fluids (particularly one that starts with a P), public rest room’s and teeth scrapping on forks. Wow when I type that out it looks like I really have issues. I promise I am pretty normal:)

Maybe we should start a cotton ball support group for all of us!

It sounds like you've been busy and it isn't letting up any time soon!!!

How cute - my daughter NEVER looks at me for pictures and smiles... but there are a few rare times she does..

These are super cute - love the dumbo one..

And two that I am missing from my quotes...

Castle - I like the minnie better than the "original" I'll be looking for you in the parks! ;)

Carrie - great pics and welcome! :)

I will be posting another post with my newest things...

Kristina

Ok here's what I've been whipping up :rotfl2: :rotfl2: lately...

the first is for a quick trip to animal kindgdom tomorrow - I hear it's going to be cooler than expected so I guess it's going to be tights and jacket with it... I just hope that punky brewster - I mean DD - doesn't try to wear purple tights and pink shoes!!! Not my most favorite that I have done - but DD picked out the pattern and the fabric combo..

2220209078_e27a79bebb.jpg

Second is the pirates of the caribbean fabric I picked up at Hobby Lobby - these are for DS who will be two in April..working on a T-Shirt for him next...

2220209236_5a8f4e9082.jpg

Next is a top that I have to work on a twirl skirt for - it's for DD to wear for her B-day next weekend...

2220209140_0af3ab9241.jpg

And my favorite - a top/dress for DD - it's her birthday gift and my favorite of what I have made recently... the back is elastic/halter style..

2219416967_76d73fd295.jpg

And well just cause she was sooo cute playing Mrs Potts with Belle (she had on her minnie pillow case dress I made so it's thread related ;) )

2220209522_d0c0961838_m.jpg

Huh, where did all my quotes go??

Krispy, I love the outfits, that black and white one is my favorite too!

I am so so so sorry. I feel your pain. My DD had lice so bad when she was placed with us. It was so bad that 3 caseworkers from our agency came over to help me with the nits. I remember crying as I was treating her. The one thing that worked for us was olive oil and prayer. I am not kidding. After trying all of the OTC stuff (even something to make them glow and a comb to shock them), I doused her head in olive oil, put a bag on it for about 4 hours and prayed a lot. It either worked a miracle for us or the Lord was just cutting me a break because I was about to LOSE it. Good luck!

That is so aweful to hear. I hate to hear that kids go through these things. DD is very lucky as am I that we caught it so soon.

holy moly I've been gone less than 24 hours and OMG look where this thread is?? :)

Everyone's creations are gorgeous :).

I visited the fabric store today to grab some clearance fabrics so I can start creating some prototypes ;) It's a holiday weekend here so I have an extra day of DH being home so hopefully I can get some sewing time (plus finish off 2 of my knitting projects so I can start more :rolleyes1 )

I doodled some ideas last night I was soooo inspired by your creations, so hopefully I can get what's in my head onto fabric and it looks even 10% as good as all yours :D

I whipped up a Valentine's peasant top for DD to wear with her new petti. I'm going to try and get a good picture of her as a present for DH for V Day.

I'm glad I did this top before I did the Ariel one, I'm going to make that one a little wider than this one and I'll do the arms a little different, it looks like it will fit DD but I won't know until tomorrow since she's actually asleep (and finally not talking.)

My DH ended up taking her to bed, he said she yacked his ear off for awhile before finally staying still long enough to pass out. Does anyone else have a child who is just so busy that they can't even settle to sleep but when they finally stay still long enough they just pass out?

I'm off to hit the hay myself. I'm tired but happy I got some time to work with the sewing machine tonight.

haven't seen much boy creations lately!!!!!
Where is everyone's boy stuff!!
ok here is one of mine!

Lori

Cute pj's. I make my 4 year old son jammie bottoms too. I bought some cute nemo/bruce fabric at Hobby Lobby to try to make a button down shirt with. The scary part is the buttons!!! Havent done those. If I get the nerve to try it I'll post it! Love boy clothes.

Yep, just add an inch or so to the bottom of the bodice.

I LOVE the polo for dh. I'm totally going to Case that!!! YEAH!!!! :cool1: I've been wondering what to do for him. Great idea Thanks!

And I still cannot find that cute mickey swirl fabric. I was at 3 Joanns today looking for it. I think its so cute. Does that glue hold up really well? I'm looking for a good fabric glue.

I did find some non-flannel Hannah Montana fabric which I hadn't seen before. All I could find was flannel which doesnt fit in AZ too well!! :lmao: I bought it and will try a layered skirt for dd!

Wow! I had been quickly checking in for a few days and I never had a chance to post. When I came back today, I thought that y'all must have removed my subscription for looking and not saying anything! :) So, to make up, I'll have to say:
Everything that I've seen is great! You all have been very busy and it shows!

Now, I'm off for the weekend and my goal is to finish at least 2 dresses. We are down to 7 days now, so if DD is going to be in a custom daily I've got to hop to it!

I've been steadily reading on the old thread for weeks (months?!) trying to catch up. I still didn't really, but with the old thread gone I picked up here and feel kind of relieved to be current. I don't sew - really - and don't have anyone to make cute outfits for if I did, but I do have a sewing machine and a fabric stash and assorted ribbons and notions! And I love seeing the cute outfits you've made! I love seeing pictures of your outfits after you've made your trip to the world! If I get the chance I'll keep "catching up" (I'm nothing if I'm not persistent!) But I'm definitely glad to be in the here and now!

I do have two dresses I smocked with serious supervision in a class! I'll try to post the pics sometime.

Wow, were you guys busy posting yesterday! I have LOTS to catch up on. Better get my tea, first.

WHAT IN THE HERMIT CRAB IS GOING ON AROUND HERE???!!!!!!!!!!!!
 We know how you feel!

This is from spring 1976 or maybe '75? I don't really know. I just remember it got real cold for FL & we had to wear our winter coats. The 1st is my sis (she loves anything Disney)....
th_70sSnacks-1.jpg

How cool! We always went to WDW in December, or sometimes on New Year's Day. These look a lot like some of our pictures, except that they have people in them! :rotfl: My dad didn't feel it was important to take pictures of his kids at Disney, just inanimate objects. :rotfl2:

That is adorable!!!

It'll be nice when the thread gets back. I've got to go find one of Teresa's posts to get her links, I didn't realize that when my mac crashed that my bookmarks didn't make it back when my DH put my data back on my mac. All those bookmarks that I had, they are on here somewhere I just have to have DH tell me where.
Someone probably already helped you out, but the links are in the very first post in this thread, along with the photobucket link.

Is it ok for me to make a shirt for me? I was thinking of doing a mickey head on a white shirt but since I can't and don't have a way to sew it would have to be like my dd's princess onsies and have fabric paint, is that dorky for a grown woman?
Umm...have you seen the picture of me wearing a crown? ;)

th_MVC-005F.jpg

First ever posting!!!! Where are the balloons and confetti!!!

Can you believe this is the 2nd dress I had ever made? Bonnie is turning 3 here. 2002
:welcome:!! What a way to make an appearance! You have made some wonderful outfits!!!

I'm still on page 13, trying to post as I go!
