Oh, I forgot, I did something for the "everyday collection" yesterday. I was so frustrated with the petti I put it all away and pulled out this clearance fabric I got. I copied the shirt from :wizard: and I made a skort (with pockets!) for the bottom. It only took a couple of hours and Megan is pleased with it.

Hi guys, I thought I would show you the newest things that I have been making. Something for the other love of my life!

Bags and wallets!

DW loves the Ver@ Br@dley bags, so I thought I would come up with a different version!

This is one for her friend. She picked aqua colors, not my favorite color, but I think it still turned out pretty good, except for a few of my "goof ups".

Bag and Wallet:

(I accidentally put the zipper in upside down! Zippers are not fun!):sad2:

Inside of bag with zippered pocket and 2 patch pockets:
scbag007.jpg

And yes, I did quilt the fabric myself!

We were at the mall the other day, and DW got so many complements on her bag. She kept telling everyone that I made it, and they wanted business cards. I guess I should get some printed.
Not sure I want to start that though!

Tom, this is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what a great thing to make your wife!!!!! I made a bag similar to that once and I don't know that I would go through that torture again. But then again, I don't have the skillz that you do. I cannot believe that you made a matching wallet -- that is some kind o' love!!!!! Anyways, my sister loves Vera Bradley too and I am never gonna let her see this!!! Great job!

BTW, did you ever get the names on your crayon roll-ups? I am making some for both of my kids to give to their friends as "end of the year gifts" and was wondering how the name looked on them.

Thanks! Nope! No names. I ended up printing up little hang tags with their names on them and handed them out that way!

Nice job! Your perfectionism shines through!

you asked...

She's a beauty...eh? This machine NEVER breaks down. When I was little my sister and I used to make Barbie clothes with it using Kleenex and fabric scraps. It is a great machine...if all you want to do is a straight stitch :rotfl2: I keep my ruffler foot on it.

and now I REALLY NEED that circle neck top pattern! :lmao:

I have a Singer even older than this but its at my mums at the minute. She bought it for my sister and I a good 20+ years ago. Its got a wooden case and a turn handle; the bobbins looks like a bullet!! We opened up the bottom once and it was lined with a sheet of newspaper from the 1930's.

This project has been in my "To Do Pile" FOREVER! I finally made Lily's big face Tink outfit. I used 1 pillowcase and 3 Tink fabrics (thank you so much Anna) :thumbsup2 I am actually very happy with how it turned out! I LOVE the long ties and I used Lisa Zoe's idea of the buttonhole elastic :dance3:

IMG_0254-1.jpg

Here's the inside view. I need to shorten the elastic a bit, this photo was before I tried it on her. This was my trial version, next time I will know what I am doing and it will look a little nicer.

I want one for my Lily too!!! That is TOO cute. I missed the thing about the button holes, but it seems like a GREAT idea.

I am continually amazed by Toms sewing prowess.

And yet another great applique (not a mickey head) by Steph.!

I'm trying to finish up a round necked dress for Little for tomorrow, however she moved the main fabric and it didn't make it to Nona's w/ us. My Dh is supposed to be bringing it and I've done everything I can. I suppose I could just start cutting pieces for a different outfit.

Yesterdays trip to the quit shop / joanns yielded; 2 NON sew Disney Fleece blankets (clearanced down to 5.95) the 4th of July fabrics, 3 yds of the most exauisite (I may never buy cheap fabric again!:rotfl: ) butterfly fabric, 2 yds of oriental cat fabric (which is way cooler than it sounds and I can't wait to use it!) just over a yd of disney princess fabric for pillow case dresses (which I got for 2.99 a yd- yay me!) and the pre-shirred Minnie mouse fabric.

Then today I had to run to Joanns to get a coordinate for the butterfly to make the dress for tomorrow and found this retro Beach scene fabric that I have wanted since last year clearanced down to $3 a yd. so naturally I picked some up (and a coordinating stripe) and Lily picked the beach for her dress instead of the flutterbys.

So I suppose it's back to the sewing table for me or else I'm going to be cut off from fabric buying FOREVER!

...t.

hey jham- love love love the tinkerbell dress. You know your dd is cuter than cute! I like the buttonhole elastic that is a great idea. I was a little unsure about sewing a couple of things for my younger DD for March. I wanted to get started this fall. I did the same last year and a couple things did not fit.

Also, thanks for the crown clip. It is a perfect crown for the pettiskirt. I hope you do not mind I am going to make a couple. Most likely one per princess. Lord knows they cannot have the same crown! LOL

Hi Everyone...
Tom---you constantly amaze me. I love the bag, It's beautiful. You and LisaZoe have such an eye for fabrics..I don't seem to have that talent..:confused3
I started my appliqued outfit today. I'm doing panels, but haven't decided if they will be in a dress or skirt and top...
Can anyone tell who they are?

This is too cute. If you don't mind telling me, what size is your DD? Mine is in a 4 and I have been looking at doing a big face dress, but was scared the face would be too big for a top for her.
