I think it depends on the fabric. I tried it and it snagged the fabric. Maybe the blade wasn't sharp enough. Thanks for the reminder to get a new blade and try again! It would be so perfect if it does work.

It is important to iron on interfacing before cutting - it makes the fabric stiff enough to cut. I have cut fabric before - but you will dull your blade faster than paper.

DD has a trip to a farm tomorrow. So of course she need something to wear. I showed her the fabric this afternoon and she said I wanted pink piggies! I had shown her fabric (pink piggies) on ebay about a month ago, and of course she remembered!!! I'll post a picture of her in it tomorrow. (This is the new round neck sundress from YCMT.)

IMG_0772.jpg

That fabric combo is cute! What does the back look like? It seemed like on the YCMT website that the round yoke doesn't go all the way around? Thanks! :)

hey guys thought i'd post more outfits from the girls gramma!

sorry for the pics. i was having trouble with photobucket and the lighting in my house is terrible. Thx for looking!

Too cute! I love the blue monkeys especially. Oh, & Flounder looking up at Ariel from the 'water'.

I got a very nice suprise today!!! Mooo-lah!! LOL, so where are we headed...
Walt Disney World...Here we come!!
We're staying overnight for a few nights...What a great surprise in my bank account...LOL. Now I wish my tax money would come, then I would be really happy...but for now...WHAHOOO!!!! Now I have to go and finish that outfit!!!:rotfl:

I have been trying to figure out how to make a rain coat using this. I think that I am going to pick some up and give it a try. Maybe next month. I know that Jenna would appreciate a raincoat with all the rain that we get around here.

I've been thinking the same thing. Do you have a pattern in mind to use? I'm a little scared of the vinyl though. My machine likes lightweight fabrics & has a fit over thick stuff.

update...if it was legal, I would kill Alexis...okay not kill, but almost kill :rotfl:
I just told her I have a surprise for her. She couldn't guess what it was so I told her to get the autograph book, and she got it, and I said do you get it now..and she didn't :confused3 so I said, you better pack that autograph book because you're gonna need it for out trip to Disney this weekend....What does she do????? She throws it down, and says, THAT'S IT!!!! That's my surprise. And now she's crying because she didn't get a doll or something like what she was expecting. What a brat...I'm allowed to say it, I gave birth to that 9 pound 6 ounce bundle of love...LOL
What a stinker...now I wish I could leave her home...I'll fix her wagon. I'll make her go on Thunder Mountain and buy the picture of her screaming...:scared1:
wish me luck....

I tried multi quote and could not do it.....

as always you guys always outdid yourself more and more with the outfits...

theresajoy and heather... hope you enjoyed your trip ,can't wait for the trip reports:hug:

castlecreations: That was a really nasty fall, it's always like that, it doesn't look bad at the begining then the swelling comes... Do not forget the ice, it helps with the swelling.

I have a friend that has a 20 mths old daughter, I had about a yard of pink fabric and I made her this outfits.. I did the patterns myself so I made them very simple..

I know somebody asked about the patterns with different sizes... If I have a pattern like that, I cut it at the largest size and fold and pin the piece to the size that I need , for the curves I usually clip (the same way you clip on fabric) and fold like that I can use it later for a large size

Cute outfits!

I do my patterns the same way. I've never met anyone else (except my mom) that does them that way.

Good morning all.
I agree with some of the previous posters - Hancocks and Walmart, plus Hobby Lobby seem to have a pretty good selection of Disney fabric. There were a lot of Pooh items at Hancocks. I was just really surprised that JoAnns didn't have more. Although they did have a satiny (is that a word??) Miss Piggy fabric that, if she doesn't already know about it, Utahmama would love!!

I finally got some pictures together of the few items I have made for my baby girl who is due in July. I do apologize that only one of them is Disney. But now that I bought all that fabric, I'll get some more made!! These were all my first real attempt at sewing (other than hemming pants - I'm 5'0" and nothing fits!!) and following a pattern. I am currently just using a good old Kenmore with just a straight and zig zag stitch.

Cute outfits and I love your nursery and the hidden Mickey.

As for the weight loss, I initially lose a lot of weight (in the first month or so) by breastfeeding. It is a personal choice and I'm not a touchy feely type of person but I do it b/c the pediatrician says it is best. It is a great side effect that I drop weight very quickly once I have the baby though. With my first baby I was famished for about 3 months (you truly couldn't put enough food in front of me, I was definitely out eating my husband!) and I couldn't drink enough water to keep my thirst away. I think I lost about 15 pounds the first month without watching what I ate and eating everything that wasn't nailed down! By the time I went to my 6 week check up I was down about 20 pounds. I stayed this way forever and I really couldn't get anymore weight off until I stopped nursing at a year and went on weight watchers.

The same initial weight loss happened again with my second baby too. I was never as hungry or as thirsty as I was with my first but the weight came off quickly at first and then came to a screeching halt where it was very hard for me to lose while nursing. After I stop if I worked at it, it would come off.

We'll see what happens when #3 comes (also in July, probably around the first)! I will say though, my stomach, never a great spot to begin with, is definitely stretched and I think only a plastic surgeon is going to correct that!

That fabric combo is cute! What does the back look like? It seemed like on the YCMT website that the round yoke doesn't go all the way around? Thanks! :)

The round yoke goes all the way around. DD is still at school, I'll try to get some pictures of the top when she gets home.

We got our stimulus $$ today!! Guess what I get to buy!!! Yepers...a new sewing machine!!! I think I'm going with a Kenmore.

I think it depends on the fabric. I tried it and it snagged the fabric. Maybe the blade wasn't sharp enough. Thanks for the reminder to get a new blade and try again! It would be so perfect if it does work.

I was able to do this with one fabric, but when I went to cut mickey heads with another fabric, the fabric kept shifting. I had brand new blades and brand new mats, so it was very frustrting. After trying about 20 different settings, I gave up and just cut "patterns" of the different sizes I needed. I also did a dog bone for Dalmation outifts. I will post when MIL gets them complete.

Thanks for the info!! I do plan on breast feeding - for many reasons. I luckily wasn't "overweight" when I got pregnant and I have only gained 22 lbs at 30 weeks. So hopefully I'll be okay. I'm not too worried. The dress I got is very flowy (sp?) and it fit at 5 months when I tried it on. I just plan on getting a good girdle to suck everything in.

Good luck on #3! I think there are a lot of June/July babies coming up. I'm July 17 and I have 3 other neighbors all due within a few weeks of each other!!! :scared1:

Hi Everyone! Since I fell in love with the Stepsister outfits, I had to try my hand at them as well. The girls decided they wanted both the stepsisters on each shirt...sigh...
It took me quite a while, but here's one top so far. I will have the outfit finished tomorrow, but wanted to show you what it looks like so far.
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072131.jpg

Alexis also took a tumble down the drive way. She said. she had a roll over...:rotfl: she literally rolled like three times. Her face didn't look too bad at first, but now her eye is really swollen and her cheek looks really raw and red. But here is a picture right after it happened.
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072128.jpg

It doesn't look too bad in the picture, but it's much worse now...:scared1: poor dear...That's why I didn't get the outfit done...I actually had to take care of my kids...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

SOOOO so cute!!! Absolutely brilliantly done!!

Alexis sure looks chipper for having had a tumble!

with all the step sister fun, I wanted to share anastasia in her anastasia!!
DisneyPhotoImage27.jpg

Your girls are SO darling!!! I love the outfits!!!

Here is Jenna's Minnie Dot dress. I'm going to make her some yellow bloomers to go under the dress. I made her the little mouse ears too. One of the Mickey heads on the apron will have a red polka dot bow on it to make it Minnie Mouse.
S2010149.jpg

Excuse the clothes in the back that is the clean laundry that needs to be put away.

Wow!! What an original, adorable dress!!! The ears make it!

I love the dresses!!! HOw fun!! The yellow one looks like Giselle's yellow dress from Enchanted! It's adorable!!

I LOVE the nursery!!! It's absolutely PERFECT!!! Your baby will love sleeping under such a beautiful blue sky!

:lmao: Gotta love kids...I guess that's the result of living so close to Disney! It's not nearly as thrilling as it ought to be!

Maybe Alexis can go stay with dad while Mommy and Ireland go to Disney.

it's the impy ones that get my goat the most! Mostly b/c I'm secretly in awe of their nerve...I'd have been one broken child had I responded like that...not that i'm advocating such violence...but it just never would have occurred to me to say anything but "WOW THANKS" to ANY gift or surprise trip even if it was a trip to the Q-tip factory...cuz my dad was a little crazy...

acorn doesn't fall far from the tree on that one!:lmao:

Alexis sure is a spitfire! Like her mama I'm going to imagine!:goodvibes

That's cool that you did it freestyle - cute!

I also do that with my patterns because it extends the use.

As for the multiquote function, be sure to click onto the button with " + and then hit reply. You will get the quotes to appear that way and then you add your comments - if that makes sense.

I am loving everyone's projects as always. One of these days I may just share my creations, but I am a tortoise, I swear. ( I have a lot of things on my plate right now, including trademarking one of my businesses. :upsidedow )

Ok I have to start by saying that due to 2 purchases that I made for myself this month (coach;) ) I cannot spent any more money (non-essentials) until the end of the month:sad1: Because of that I cannot purchase patterns (without getting into a fight!!) for a friend of mine that needs simple dresses for her daughter

she is going to Fl in 3wks, so she is also max-out money wise,so I thought that maybe I can come out with simple patterns for her daughter I really like the dress with the tie back(kind of the stepsister style) but without any ruffles, I made a tentative pattern but I am not sure if the top is right, so I just want to know if the top piece looks about right

I love this dress. Adorable!
DD did not want her picture taken this morning!! I'll try to get a better picture this afternoon. The top is a little fuller than the picture shows, DD's arms are holding it down. I llike how it looks with the tee. Tinka_belle, I think it would look cute with a peasant top.

Adorable dresses and I love your Nursery! Great Clouds.
I was able to do this with one fabric, but when I went to cut mickey heads with another fabric, the fabric kept shifting. I had brand new blades and brand new mats, so it was very frustrting. I think it will void the warrenty if you cut anything but paper. I think the best thing would be to cut out the pieces from paper and then trace onto fabric. The dog bone idea is brilliant! Can't wait to see it.

I love the dresses!!! HOw fun!! The yellow one looks like Giselle's yellow dress from Enchanted! It's adorable!!

I LOVE the nursery!!! It's absolutely PERFECT!!! Your baby will love sleeping under such a beautiful blue sky!
I got quoted by Miss Cammie!!!! Wow I am soo excited. I have been following your trip report and just love it!! It makes me so excited to take my kids to Disney someday!!

Thank you very much for the kind compliments!

Thank you!! The sky really wasn't that difficult, just time consuming. If anybody is interested I used a product called Cloud Wash from Watercolor Walls online.

It looks about right to me. I just finished cutting out a similar pattern piece for myself & that's pretty much what it looked like. Here's another option for you that I used last summer & it turned out pretty good.

Alexis's head is okay, just a bump and a bruise, but for some reason, her cheek's scratch has gotten bigger...weird..she has been complaining of pain, but just skin pain, I don't think it's too bad. She should be fine in a couple of days..

Oh yea...don't blame me for the stepsister outfit thing..it's not my fault...someone else started it..I just jumped on the wagon with them...LOL:banana:
