Lost my quote - but just wanted to say that I'll see what I can do about getting a tutorial together. My machine is in the shop right now, so it'll be a few days before I can get it together.
I just can't keep up with you guys!!!! I wanted to share what I just finished. These are for dd2 and dgd2 to wear to MK when dd7 wears her Cinderella custom. I didn't care for the Anastasia at first, but once I got Drizella finished, I love them together!!! Since I took these, I did attach a green ruffle to the front of Drizella and they are all packed for December!

Good morning all. I just love what I am seeing so far! (I'll comment in a bit).
Well, I didn't get my sewing machine last night. But, it's okay, because I think I have finally decided which one to get! And it neither of the ones I was thinking about. I think I am going to go with the Brother CS6000i. I know a lot of you, like Nana and Tom, use this and really like it, so I am going to go for it!! I am really excited. I tried to get it last night, but my dinky Walmart didn't have it, so I am going to keep looking. Hopefully by the end of the weekend!!! Then I can start showing what I have done! Making stuff for little babies is so fun - and pretty cheap (MUCH less material!!) Thanks for all your help with types of machines/rufflers. By the way, for the CD6000i, did you just get the Brother ruffler, or get one off of Voldemort?
Okay, now back to reading so I can get caught up (at least on this particular thread) and start commenting.

Most commercial patterns have measurements on the back so you can find the one that most closely matches your daughter. I try to match the "around" measurement (chest, waist or hip) and then lengthen. The patterns usually have lines to cut to shorten or lengthen the pattern.
CarlaC's patterns have measurements too, so you know how much fabric to buy for each size and which size your kid is. She is very good about that!...
Very cute. Can you still find the Epcot/Small World Fabric with the faces??![]()
I made this for Epcot, but Kirsta wants to wear it to MK becuase of Small World.
I like this a lot. I think a bow could add something to it, but either way. For the ribbon - do you just sew a stitch across the top and bottom from seam to seam or is it "bonded on"??![]()
My mom is thinking there is something missing on the front, maybe a bow to make it a "Minnie" instead of a "Mickey". I think it is fine the way it is. What do you all think?
These shirts are SO cute. Did you use an embroider machine or just a regular sewing machine for the names??
These are ADORABLE. I may have to CASE for my little one!!
This dress is just lovely!! And she is so cute! The birthday girl in her party dress. of course, it was too cool Saturday for her to wear it without something under it. Figures.

The ribbon came with the white stitching on it, but my mom did sew it on. We figured it would hold better.I like this a lot. I think a bow could add something to it, but either way. For the ribbon - do you just sew a stitch across the top and bottom from seam to seam or is it "bonded on"??

What (brand) patterns do you ladies find are best for beginners? As I mentioned before, I would like to try my hand at a simple dress/skirt.
