Love both of the dresses! The whale one is fantastic! Love the fabric especially!

Same here, I've made oodles of easy fit pants for both kiddos, here are a few pairs for both my son and daughter in all different lengths

Wow, these are fantastic and you're so quick about getting them done! It takes me forever just to get one outfit done!

We put sock curlers in DD's hair last night. Her hair was so curly this morning that it was up above her shoulders, and I had to wet it to get it to relax a little. Her hair was actually in ringlets when she came home from school. It was pretty tangled though, so I had to comb it. We went to the library today and took some pictures. Her hair is naturally wavy (curly in the summer), but this is what it looks like after a day or two of school and play!!

And, after the sock curlers...

wow ! i need to try that with Jayedyn's hair

Thanks!! Matthew's top is a McCall's sweatshirt pattern I just left the sleeves off! I had to size it down though. This one is a size one, the next one fits better.

BTW - the green grass is my neighbors, the brown straw looking stuff is our lush lawn!!

Hope Tessa feels better soon!!

And last but not least, my beautiful stepdaughter Emily . She was in town for the week, so I put her to work modeling! The shirt is made from a mix of Amy Butler prints. She picked the fabrics out herself!

Thanks for looking - hope everyone isn't burned out on bowling shirts before I even get the pattern written! I'm really going to push to finish it up soon, I just have to force myself to stay off this addictive board and work!

Carla
cute stuff;)I have made so many of those shirts just in one week i can sew them blindfolded  no not really. thanks for sharing

HI EVERYONE!!!!
Whew! I have been away for WAY TOO LONG! Why does life have to get in the way of everything FUN? YEESH! Well, not really, but, sometimes that's how it feels!
I can't wait to try and get caught up, I just wanted to check in really quick and say HI! HI!
I'm sure jham has mentioned our boutique we're working our tushies off for next week....eeek! We've been talking about it for months and it's actually here and I'm SURE not ready! ACK!
Anyway! I've seen some dang cute outfits and gotten some great inspiration (as usual) and I can't wait to see more!
And since we all love the Mouse, I wanted to post a few pics of Saylor in her Mouse outfit....

Thanks for letting me share! I promise I won't post and ditch! I've missed my DISers!!!!

Can't wait to (try) catch up!!!

OH OH OH! One thing...I am a HUGE Napoleon Dynamite fan! Okay, not quite Titanic, but, let's hope I don't ever obsess over anything like that again! I've been watching Napoleon while I sew the past couple of weeks! I was  because even though I wasn't here with my posts, I was here in spirit!!!! GOSH!
she is just so cute . it is good to know you are okay i am so excited for the bootikue me and wendy lou will be there the 1st day.....i have been watching napoleon also it has been on tv... i love that show his moonboots :rotfl:

I am finally getting around to posting the photos for the question I raised yesterday regarding the right size for the Simply Sweet pattern:

First, is the halter bodice. I made a size 6. The elastic in the back was too long, so I shortened it.

th_DSC_0147.jpg

th_DSC_0148.jpg

I'm wondering if a size 5 with the wider bodice would be better.

Here is the jumper bodice in a size 6. This one ended up being too big all over, so I definitely think I need to make a size 5 in this one.

th_DSC_0155.jpg

th_DSC_0160.jpg

My daughter is thin, so I added ties at the waist, but it is still way too big.

Thanks everyone for posting your photos of this pattern. It helps me get a better idea of how it should fit.
i am sorry they are too big but they look great . it should be something easy to fix.;)

I just came across this picture- It is my favorite crying picture. If I remember right he had the whole arm flapping thing going too. I think I was trying not to laugh, I am so mean.

too cute;) i love the giselle dress :thumbsup2

Aimee, thanks got the heads up about Giselle. We are watching that movie a lot these days. Hopefully they'll get meet and greets going with her soon. I love the yellow Giselle dress.

We got fun mail today, Delaney's provincial Belle outfit came today, she's in love with it already, I couldn't wait to see her in it. I even managed to find my camera and get my all-in-one printer to cooperate (wonders never cease :faint: ) and to top it all off photobucket was actually working too...

DSCF1084.jpg
DSCF1087.jpg

And I have no idea why one picture is larger than the other but okay, at least I got them to work without too much trouble.

Delaney and I are going to head off to the Disney Store, since DH is away we're trying to do a lot of work around the house and still manage to get in some fun girl time together.

We were waiting to go until we got the mail and until we heard from my mom that my dad was doing okay after surgery this morning. He's home and sleeping and doing fine. It was relatively minor surgery, he had his gall bladder removed today, it was done in less than an hour.

We're off to the store and then hopefully I'll get some sewing done tonight. I just got Carla's Easy Fit Pants today. I'll probably get the capri's next week.

I've been able to make some progress in the house so I won't feel so bad about sewing.
that is so awesome ! i am envious of your grass too it was snowing here earlier:eek: Blahhhhhh
 for your dad i am glad his surgery went good i have had my gall bladder out no fun ...:sad2:

I think your halter looks fine. Maybe tighten the elastic in the back next time and you'll get the fit you want.

I would definately go with a size 5 in the jumper. Now that I think of it, I usually make a size smaller than DD wears in CarlaC's stripwork jumper.

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question. A lot of you use the easyfit pants. Im not really good with patterns, so what I had done before was to just take a pair of pants that fit the child well and use that as my pattern - is that really bad???? Im tempted by that pattern, but not being good at patterns I'd hate to purchase it and not use it, you know?????

Thanks!! Wendy

If you are happy with the pants you make then I would say you don't need the ebook. I use a pair of shorts to compare length.

Stevesgirl: I lost your pictures, but I love the jumpers you made! The size 6 was so pretty, I love the fabrics you used!

th_IMG_0608.jpg

OK, I'm done hogging the board now.
Look at you, sewing up a storm! You are getting so creative and boutique-y! These are GREAT!!!

Mainly, I have really only quilted and made costumes. I am fairly new to clothing but I am very excited! I know I can do it, it's just going to take time and patience. (And of course, trial and error!) So, may I ask you all a question taht may seem strange?

What exactly ia s serger and what can you do with it? TIA~
:welcome:!!! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'll have to check out Tessa's reviews--I think Luke first fell in love at her Giselle review :lovestruc :lmao: I hope our Tessa is feeling better soon!
I didn't even know he watched that one! How sweet!

WOW!!! I am LOVING that shirt. The different colored strip in the back of the one shirt is so cool! I also love the same one you said was your favorite! The girl sihrts are too adorable! Louie is a little doll and Emily is so pretty! The little girl is a beauty, too. Did you say who she was?

I AM BACK!!!!

I just got back yesterday and am working on the TR now. had a fab trip with brand new customs!
Lori
YAY!! Can't wait to read your TR!

That is SUCH an adorable picture!! I love the outfit, the cutie pie, and the Minnie!

We are kindred spirits- first Titanic, now Napoleon Dynamite!

:rotfl2: That is too funny! He manages to be quite handsome, even mid-tantrum!

Oh my goodness, I'm in love with that yellow Giselle dress! I love yellow and I love eyelet! Both of the yellow Giselle dresses that have been posted on here have been so cute! Too bad Tessa already has too many Disney outfits. I might have to try this when I get home, though.

The whale outfit is so cute, but that model of yours (both of them, actually) is GORGEOUS!!!

I like it even better close up!

Carla

I absolutely CANNOT wait for this pattern! I have 3 boys who always always ask what I am going to sew for them!

Yes please!!! Is there any chance at all of this CarlaC bowling pattern being avaiable for men and women??? Pretty please???

Oh! That's it! How did you get such a nice fit on that halter top! This is exactly what I am trying to accomplish! :worship:

Wish I could say it was me, I'd have to chalk it up to Carla's pattern though, it's the simply sweet halter with long ties in a size three. I made it exactly as written, even the elastic measurements in her regular sewing size which is a three and it's a perfect fit. I've also made the jumper version which is a looser fit for her to wear over tees and such but I added a ribbon sash so I could snug it up a bit.
2423761913_c5c4fb2943.jpg

the straps are slightly long without a shirt underneath but fit nicely with one :)

I loooove these Carla!!!! I am thinking I might just need that pattern! I hadn't thought of making it into a girl shirt!! That black and pink one is adorable!!! The planet material looks similar to some Lydia picked out the other week! I still need to sew that up!

I AM BACK!!!!

I just got back yesterday and am working on the TR now. had a fab trip with brand new customs!

I think they look pretty cute!!! I just finished the jumper, and I think I'll go with a size smaller next time. But, Lyddy was between sizes, so I went up a size, so I sort of figured it would be a bit big.

That is so pretty. I like the design that you came up with. It's very original.

Thank you sooooo much!!! I love how you have done the top of yours better than mine -- I made my waistband top too long. I am going to shorten it now b/c I like your 3 tiers better than my 2! I am making a patchwork twirl skirt for a friend and I am going to do hers like yours!!! Thanks again!

Thanks! I had a hard time deciding how to do the waistband but I really like the way it turned out. I will likely do it this way from now on.

I should have know it was gymbo, it is too cute. Where did you get the fabric? It matches perfectly? I just have to add that Lily is so flippin' cute.

Thanks! I think I got the solid aqua at Joann's and the rest at Hancock. I'm surprised it matched so well! The "dotty" fabrics are a Hancock's brand that I found on their quilter's wall. It took me a while to find fabrics I liked.

Why Yes, yes it does!
YEAH!!! Another Napoleon Dynamite fan!!! I just knew I liked you guys!!!

I didn't realize it until I saw these pictures, but I think I just bought some of that blue dot fabric over the weekend at WalMart!

Definitely! I can't wait to meet Steph, Megan, and Jacob!! Of course, if she brings her hubby along, I'd be happy to meet him, too!

Everything looks great ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanted to say that my husband and I are Napoleon Dynamite fans too! I just watched it again this week -- I love it!

BTW, Teresa and Heather....are y'all going to give us a little preview of all your outfits before you leave and where they will be wearing them too????? hint hint!
