Oh, I definitely am the same. Zoe didn't have anything special to wear for any of the recent holidays except Halloween and Christmas nor for the 100th day of school.

As for the jean legs, I don't know what I'll do with them. I have quite a few of these hoping to get some inspiration. LOL I did use one leg from different jeans for a bodice of a dress once. I should do another one.
I got this book at the library it's called 99 ways to cut, sew & deck out your denim. It has some fun ideas and tells how to do in a very basic way. I think it is marketed toward teens. My FIL lost about 50 lbs. recently and he saved all of his "fat" jeans so I could cut them up and make stuff!!

Great idea about the elastic with button holes- My ds lives in those type of pants. He is skinny with looong legs.

Cute-good job!! Good for you making things for yourself too!!
I finished Lily's goldfish skirt. I think I like buying a top and making a skirt to match. These are the bows I ordered on :wizard: I think they are GINORMOUS but they are cute. Do you think they are too much? I can wait until her head grows into them.

He looks so happy to be outside!! Gotta love easy outfits!!! great job!!
This is not a new dress but we just got this beyond cool headband in the mail today. Hannah did a little retail therapy on :wizard:. There is a kid that is picking on her at school.

Sorry hannah is being picked on!! Her head band is really cute!!
Here's my halter from the simply sweet pattern. I think it's fine. If you raise the arm holes though it might be better. (I think that's what you said you were going to do.)

Very cute spongie- so sorry about the having to see the dentist again!! Feel better soon!!!!

We had a super fun time at the museum today!! My grandma who the kids call nana went with us. I think we wore her out!! DS loves the childrens museum, we try to go at least once a year and he is really remembering things now so he has favorites. ok well the pictures are done uploading so here they are:
DS knocking on oscars can and yelling "Are you in there oscar???"

They also got to watch and turtle and snake get fed and loved running around and playing with all the different stuff especially the water tables!! :headache:

Thank you!! I think so too. I just wanna eat her up! She makes me laugh all day long. She is fiesty (she likes to fold her arms and "HMPFF" with a pouty face and sometimes you just look at her and she yells "I'M NOT!!" :lmao:) I like to say she is the frosting on the cake that is our family. (there's lots of other good stuff in there too, like cream filling, chocolate, and other stuff :thumbsup2 ).

Oh my gosh, my little sister used to do the same thing when she was little! She was copying my older sister who was VERY fond of saying "I'm NOT" when my mom would catch her being ugly and get after her about it. My little sister would tromp around the house and shout "I NOT!" out of the blue. We just died laughing over it. If Lily is anything like my little sister, it must be pert near impossible to keep a straight face around her! Makes life fun huh?:goodvibes

what a bunch of cute outfits:worship: i was once again at the dentist today so i am drugged and in alot of pain:rolleyes1 i had to have my left molar pulled and my gums prodded for the prep of implants, one more time for fillings and then my screws. :scared1:

awww Poor you! Dental pain is the WORST!!! to you!

I hate to say but she is being bullied at four! There is a very physical little boy in her class. It got so bad that she was waking up in hysterics in the middle of the night. I *think* we are taking care of it but only time will tell. She loves when she get's presents in the mail! LOL

If you need any "scripts" to use to speak to the teacher, please let me know. If Hannah is so upset over this bullying even after school, then the teacher needs to be a little more firm with the bully. Children at this age certainly ARE capable of bullying one another. The sooner it's made clear that that sort of behavior is unacceptable, the better.

grrrr...I do NOT like mean little poots who pick on little girls.

We put sock curlers in DD's hair last night. Her hair was so curly this morning that it was up above her shoulders, and I had to wet it to get it to relax a little. Her hair was actually in ringlets when she came home from school. It was pretty tangled though, so I had to comb it. We went to the library today and took some pictures. Her hair is naturally wavy (curly in the summer), but this is what it looks like after a day or two of school and play!!

I LOVE seeing your little girl reading Olivia!!! I just LOVE Olivia! She's got all kinds of Sass and Spunk!!! YAY reading!!!:cool1:

looks like your little girl is heading for the pages of Vogue!!!

Good morning everyone! We had a busy weekend - spring cleaning! Woo Hoo. Still in progress, actually. I was hoping to have pictures of my scrapbooking/sewing area all clean and organized to share, but it's not quite there yet. Soon, I hope.

Caleb had a Dr. appointment yesterday for a checkup and his kindy immunizations. Poor kid, he had to get 4 shots and they gave them in his legs. I was a bad mommy and really just didn't even think to give him ibuprofen or anything after. Then, around dinner time last night, he came to me all teary eyed, saying that his legs were sore. Oh, man I felt so bad. But a little bit of motrin, some homemade pizza and an ice cream sandwich later, he was a bit better. He says his legs are still a little sore, but he's at least been up and playing this morning, so it can't be too awful.

I have one more thing to share - hopefully you will all be laughing with me, not thinking I'm some horrible, cruel mom. So Ella has this crazy, curly hair, right? Well, as I was watching Napoleon Dynamite for the millionth or so time a few days ago, it hit me that she has hair just like him! So, I felt the need to make her a "Vote for Pedro" shirt and dress her up like Napoleon. My husband just shook his head. Ella actually thought it was funny - a friend gave me a talking Napoleon doll for a gag gift a while back and the kids both love to play with it, so she thought it was neat to be dressed up like that "talking boy dolly" as she put it. I was trying to get her to make some goofy Napoleon-ish faces, but she didn't quite get it. Ok, so here she is:

napoleon1.jpg

napoleon2.jpg

And for those of you who now think I'm absolutely and totally nutso: well, you're right, but I'm embracing my inner crazy!

Lori!!! I was just going to sneak in here tonight and skim through, but look what you went and posted!!! I HAD to comment!!! That is just too funny!!!!

Have I mentioned that Napoleon Dynamite is in my top two favorite movies (Titanic being the other)?? The first time I watched it, I had to pause it, because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! I made Lyddy a Vote For Pedro shirt when she was littler, Corey had one, so I made her one to match.

I always say, there are two kinds of people in this world, those that "get" Napoleon Dynamite, and the others.... :rolleyes1

And some  for Caleb getting those nasty shots!!! I know Lydia is due for one or two soon. :sad1:

Ok, back to skimming.....

We'd better get up to 250 before Heather and Teresa leave so they can start a new one for us! I don't think they give us any notice. Teresa just watches and gets a new one up before they close us off. (thanks TJ!)
Thanks! Yep, I just pay attention, and start a new thread around 249. I'll have internet on vacation, so if we don't hit 249 before we go, I'll still be able to do it while I'm gone.

Cute cute outfit!!!

I was wondering today how your teeth were going Misty! I hit a set back with mine. :headache:

I hate to say but she is being bullied at four! There is a very physical little boy in her class. It got so bad that she was waking up in hysterics in the middle of the night. I *think* we are taking care of it but only time will tell. She loves when she get's presents in the mail! LOL

Mean little booger picking on sweet Hannah!

There was a little boy that was picking on Arminda at the beginning of the school year. He had to go to the counselor a time or two. The strange thing is that now, he and Arminda are really good friends. She is a very forgiving little sweet heart.

I'm working on a Marie outfit, from the material Glorib sent me (thank you!). I actually CUT it, and that was VERY hard to do! I am combining Carla's Simply Sweet top and the ruffled bottom from the peasant dress, I think it's going to be pretty cute. Lydia will like it even if it's not, she loves Marie! It should be done tomorrow, I hope...

And, I must say, I am very pleased at the amount of people that love Napoleon Dynamite on this thread! :dance3: And, for the record, Heather loves it too! (she bought me the movie)

Those are such adorable sets!!! I love the baseballs - so fun for summer! The applique is perfect, too! It is VERY hard to get kids to pose together. I always have visions of Louie and his best friend Abbey posing together for eBooks. I usually end up with blurry pics and sore legs!

Here's my halter from the simply sweet pattern. I think it's fine. If you raise the arm holes though it might be better. (I think that's what you said you were going to do.)

IMG_0450.jpg
IMG_0492.jpg

The triangl over the cotton candy is going to be a pennant that says go team. I haven't finished that yet!!

And Ds's matching set...

IMG_0530.jpg
IMG_0532.jpg

And what happens when I try to get a picture together!!

IMG_0545.jpg

OOOH! Great job with the enlarging! I adore those colors, and you can tell she just loves her oufit!

I haven't had a lot of trouble with it cause I "enlarged" the pattern to fit my 10 year old (who wears a 12 or 14 usually). I just hold the pattern upto the kid....I am quite annoying when I sew cause I keep calling the child in to hold things upto them to adjust. Here is Carla's halter on DD10:

IMGP5265.jpg

And here is a similiar bodice that I designed by holding paper up to my DD 4 and tracing where I wanted the fabric to be. I then added seam allowance and cut it out...I shirred the back.

IMGP5258.jpg

Carla can I say again how awesome your pattern and directions are for the Sweet Tops and Dresses. :woohoo: I really love :lovestruc how you did the layers and all....and I could go on and on but I love making stuff with your pattern!!!!

:rotfl2: Too funny! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only wondertape addict! I have 3 or 4 rolls working at a time because I tend to lose notions. I use it for everything! The other day I made a set of bows with layered ribbon, and I used a few pieces to keep the layers together - made a huge difference!

You should be! :lmao: You made me run out and buy some and I about had a panic attack the other day when I couldn't find mine (my heat 'n' bond wasn't sticking on one of my fish :scared1: )

So true! Same thing with Nacho Libre - I got that movie for my parents, and they just didn't get it at all! I felt like I didn't know them anymore! I'm not even going to try them with Napoleon Dynamite!: sad2:

I always say, there are two kinds of people in this world, those that "get" Napoleon Dynamite, and the others.... :rolleyes1

I hear you. Wait till your oldest is almost 14 will be Friday. :sad1: :sad1: She is taller than me. :sad1: And has a bigger foot. I feel so old.:sad1: I will be 33 on the 28th.

Melanie

I hear you! Mine is 13 and is taller than me too. She is long and thin and too pretty. I am 34 and feel old too!

Attn: Simply Sweet eBook owners! I "modestified" the halter bodice a bit by raising the bottom of the armholes a wee bit (0.5" for the smaller sizes, 0.75" for the bigger sizes). The updated version is on YCMT now, and can be found on your "My Library" page! Thanks again for all the great feedback! :goodvibes

I'm still plugging away on the bowling shirt eBook! Problem is, I'd rather sew the shirts than write about sewing them! I've made about 10 so far - at least 1 in every size and an inordinate number of 3/4's! I'll try to get on later and post some pics!

I love the baseball outfits! Too cute! What pattern did you use for Matthew's shirt? LOVE it! The easy fit pants turned out great, too! I just love seeing pictures of Matthew, he looks like a little sweetie!

Your grass looks good for this early in the season!

Shame on him! Honestly, as much as I appreciate all the compliments on my applique, I really don't think it's something others can't do just as well with practice. I started doing pieced applique in December of 2006 so I feel like I'm a beginner. Admittedly, I've done more applique in that time than many would who are sewing only for their own children but I learned/improved the most in the first couple of months.
I feel the same way! I think anyone can do it, if they give it a try! It just takes practice and patience.

We'd better get up to 250 before Heather and Teresa leave so they can start a new one for us! I don't think they give us any notice. Teresa just watches and gets a new one up before they close us off. (thanks TJ!)
I was thinking that we'll have to appoint someone to start a new thread at page 249 if we're gone then. They'll have to copy all the info in the first post. We'll wait and see what number we're on later next week.

Oh, I wanted to tell Luke that Tessa is in a lot of my reviews on expotv, if he's needing a "Tessa fix". :rotfl2: She demonstrates her bike, her scooter, and our swingset in my most recent reviews.

awww, poor little button...that's not fun at all! I hope she feels better soon!!

I watched your review! I found it VERY helpful!!:thumbsup2 YOU are too cute for words girl!!! I can't believe you are "new" to sewing...must have some natural artistry running through those veins!!!:goodvibes

 to Tessa!!!
Aww.. thanks for saying I'm cute! I don't hear that too often! Thanks for finding my review helpful, even though expotv did not. :snooty:

Tessa's still feeling icky today, so I had to reschedule her kindergarten screening for next week. It's at a different school (the one I went to as a kid), so I won't get the personal tour of the school with the principal. :sad2: I was actually looking forward to that.

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been on lately, but I have been lurking every now and again when I can! Life is just crazy for us at the moment! Too much and too bad to go into detail, so I won't! No need to get anyone depressed!
I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going so well. for you. Don't worry about depressing us if you want to share what's going on. We're always here to listen.

I've just shown this to DH and do you know what he had the nerve to say.....I'd give up now if I was you, you'll never be that good!!!!! OK so in my heart of hearts he's probably right, but like I'm going to tell him that :rotfl2:

What do DHs know? I think your applique is wonderful!! That is one adorable baby, too! My DH is always telling me "I bet Teresa would know how to do that" when I have problems sewing. He is such a PITB!!

LOVE it!! Those little fish on her shoes are too cute!! I just love the whole thing!

I love your ticker, that is so cool!

It's adorable! That Parker makes me smile every time I see her!

Thanks!! Matthew's top is a McCall's sweatshirt pattern I just left the sleeves off! I had to size it down though. This one is a size one, the next one fits better.

BTW - the green grass is my neighbors, the brown straw looking stuff is our lush lawn!!

Hope Tessa feels better soon!!

Carla - I checked out my library on YCMT. Are the modifications in a seperate file or in the original ebook purchase?

After seeing all of the cute Easy Fit Pants from 2cutekids, I’m going to take the plunge and order the ebook! I have 2 weeks to make some shorts for DS2 before our SURPRISE Disney trip. I think I need a ticker.

Mainly, I have really only quilted and made costumes. I am fairly new to clothing but I am very excited! I know I can do it, it's just going to take time and patience. (And of course, trial and error!) So, may I ask you all a question taht may seem strange?

What exactly ia s serger and what can you do with it? TIA~
