Those are very cute. I need to make something for my cousin. His girlfriend is going to have a little girl in June or July.

Steph - love the doxie fabric!!! I love that site. I have the sleeping beauty and now I'm eyeing the snow white. Really, I love all of the fairy tale prints from them (They have an adorable Peter Pan!!)

And for those of you who now think I'm absolutely and totally nutso: well, you're right, but I'm embracing my inner crazy!

Dude...those pictures are FLIPPIN SWEET!

I love that movie. I hate to admit it but I do. I love it.

Okay, I have been busy busy busy since you posted this. But I just had to respond that of course Sophie does not drive. She is too short to see over the steering wheel.
IMG_6102.jpg

OH MY GOSH!!!! Sophie is SO completely DARLING!!! Just seeing a picture of her sweet face brought about a VERY loud AWWWWWWW! I so want another Doxie...but I don't think that Beau-Jack would appreciate that very much. He went to the vet last night to get his Bordatella booster b/c he has Doggie Day Camp on Friday...the vet had the NERVE to say he was slightly overweight! He HAPPENS to have very dense bones.:snooty:

and he's VERY hungry...and sleepy.

okay...he's a TEENY bit over weight which is really bad for dachshunds. He has to lose two pounds. He's clinking his bowl in the kitchen as we speak. Poor hungry baby!

Oh she is so sweet! Megan just asked me if she could kiss Sophie. Yes, she kissed the computer screen!

This is from the superbuzzy site. And look, they are wearing sweaters too! :rotfl:

I'm going to have to use the Discover card again. Husband is NOT going to be happy...but I really have no choices at this point. :confused3 Sorry hubs.

OK, that fabric is so cute! We have a dachsund, too - his name is Frank. I do believe I need that fabric! Now just to convince DH of that . . .

We need to start a Doxie Disboutique Society!!! Sally will wear anything with a doxie on it! I got her a doxie tee from old navy for her birthday. Anytime I see clothing with a doxie I have to buy it. It's for Sally!

Is your Frank black and tan or is he red? Or chocolate and tan? Or piebald? Or dappled? Or English Cream? Long haired? Smooth? Wire haired? Standard or Tweenie or Miniature?

:rotfl2: So many flavors of dachshunds!!!

Hey everyone. Just popping by to thank everyone for their support and prayers for my family. We went to see the counselor today and will go back in 4 days. Things have been better for my DD. ONE DAY AT A TIME. They don't want to admit my DD, but will if she needs to be.

On another note... I got the friends around the world fabric in the mail. Thank you! Please pm me so that I can get your address or e-mail and get the money to ya.

Again, thank you all so much.

Hi everyone - Thanks for all the well wishes for my surgery. I actually came home last Friday - but this is the first day my eyes have cooperated and I was able to focus. Couldn't even enjoy lurking. I have been up to my sewing room a couple of times - just haven't felt like sewing. DD has Daddy Daughter dance Friday night and I do have material I was going to make a summer dress with shirring - did some samples of that and love the way it looks. So maybe I can get to it tomorrw.

As for the surgery every day I feel 100% better than the day before. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2/22 and oppted for double mastecomy with immediate reconstruction. The mastecomy/reconstruction was last Wed. So far so good. Have not yet been able to look at the scars - can see enough from above. Chemo will begin inn 3 weeks. I am 48 years old and have a DD9 and DS7 plus a wonderful husband.

I just wanted to say thanks once again for all the well wishes and prayers you all sent my way - to a perfect stranger - this is such a nice and friendly board - you were able to ge me out of my lurkdom. I hope to be regular poster here. even with pictures

Marla

We tried some rag curls last night. It was really hard because my hair is long and thick, as is my older dd's. I did all rags (actually scraps of fabric) and dd did socks and some rags. Mone came out really curly, I had to brush the top and pin it up, hers came out so cute.

th_2008_0421Image0004.jpg

And my horrible, good morning picture...no makup, no caffeine and in pj's!
th_2008_0421Image0003.jpg

That turned out great. DH usually does the rag curls for our DD's. I had never even heard of it. He remembered his mom doing it for his older sister so he showed them one time. They loved it.

Good luck Marla with your recovery. I have heard that the recovery is hard and you are such a strong person for going through it! Good for you for going with the double mastectomy too! That is so brave! Cancer is so scary and you can't be too careful!

I am excited!!! I got the children fo the world fabric and the minnie dot with 2 in dots at Hancock today. Both were 20% off. I got the last two yards of the children fabric. but they had a whole bolt of minnie dot. It was the 2 inch dots and, it was $2.99 a yard.:cool1: :cool1: I also got some tutti frutti for a sundress. It was 40% off. Now I have a question. I thought about cutting some small squares witgh the children in them out and appliqueing them on a solid bodice in a kind of random pattern. Do you guys think this will work???

I'm so happy to hear that you are doing good. I was thinking of you the other day and was really hoping that we would hear from you soon. You are very brave and I think that you will recover wonderfully.

That sounds like it would be cute. I also bought some Tutti Fruitti fabric to make an outfit for Jenna. I think that I am going to bump it up on my to do list just so I can see how it looks when finished.

1) No need to be ashamed to admit you love Napoleon Dynamite. It is, after all, a flippin sweet movie.

and

2) Frank the Tank as we like to call him is supposedly a mini short hair, but I do believe he is more a medium size with medium hair, LOL! He's mostly red with black on the edges of his ears and tail. And he's sort of a pain in my rear. The kids LOVE him, though, and he's actually really good with them. But sometimes he drives me batty! He's an excited pee-er and a barky barkerson! We haven't been able to "break" him of either. But I do love him - most of the time!

That's funny that you call your dog "barky Barkerson" That is what I call our Tinkerbell when she is barking for no reason. That and Barkerhead.

Hello everyone! :wave2:
I'm completely new here but have been trying to find the disboutique thread since forever! I am heaving a big sigh of relief and joy to have finally gotten here!:yay:
I haven't gotten a chance to look through all the pages of this thread yet but I'm very eager to.
I was also wondering if anyone knows anyone who makes those awesome outfits for slightly bigger little girls (as in me). Whenever I'm in WDW I always see little girls with the most beautiful outfits that obviously were made just for them and wish that I could have a fantastic outfit like that to wear to meet the princesses. Any info would be fabulous!:cutie:

just wanted to say hi. Im alive and reading and lovin everything y'all are posting. how come no one makes me gifts (like that fabulous diaperbag)!?
my allergies are trying to beat me down.
Megan turned 2 yesterday- and shares a b day with Elisa. ;)

got a pretty bruise on my foot. fabric is washed and draped around the house drying.

And to be more on topic here is the Diaper Bag and Burp Cloths I made for the baby shower gift.
