I'm about to start on those last minute Easter madras.(I'm askeered!:scared1: ) I got the fabric at JoAnn's 40% off!! Woo Hoo, thanks RevRob for the sale tip!:woohoo:

Glad you found it! I hope they come out great!

OK Ladies (And gent!) .... It's been a while since I really posted, so I'm gonna try to remember how to download pics from photobucket with this post. It's just the first of a few of my FINALLY organized craft room.

SO THIS A TEST..... THIS IS ONLY A TEST!!!

here we go.....

I would do one of two things (for the cords) - if you have a Hobby Lobby near by, they sell cord covers for lamps. They're basically really long strips of fabric that have snaps down the length of the fabric that basically turn the strip into a tube. When HL puts their lamp stuff on 50% off, they're fairly inexpensive. OR, just sew a big tube of fabric, and pull all the cords through. I'd make it twice or three times the length of the cords so that the tube is scrunched up and looks decorative.

Great job on these! Keep up the good work!

I love all of the pictures that were posted today. Especially the Tinkerbell dress. I have been at work today so I haven't done anything in the line of sewing. I did make some PJ's last night for DD and a dress for her dolly. I have a couple of other things that I want to work on today, but I am tired. I have been working part time for a friend of mine that owns the local Dairy Queen. He needed a cake decorator and since I'm a nice person I helped him out for the second time. I have not had a job that wasn't behind a desk for about 3 years. So needless to say my feet, back and arms are killing me. Well enough of my complaining. Ya'll are doing a good job keep up the good work.

Wow, you ladies have been very busy! Once again I'm too far behind to catch up much less comment on all the cute work I see. I got a job, just part time, in late February and it's really cut into my time on the computer. :-( I'm finally getting used to the schedule but I still have to limit my time chatting so I don't get behind on sewing. Our trip in May is coming much faster than I expected so I need to get busy. I finally got started on a set for Zoe. I still need to make capris to wear with it but the size of the applique on the front is something I've been wanting to try for awhile... and I'm glad I finally did!

th_tink_pout1.jpg

The back of the top is the Tink fabric from JoAnns I got 50% off the clearance price during the President's sale. I haven't decided if I want to use the same fabric for the capris or the coordinating floral Tink print on white.

th_tink_pout2.jpg

I'm going to try to have at least one outfit for Zoe each day we're there. I have ideas for most of them so I just need to get them made. I also want to make some sets for my great nephews but I'm having trouble with ideas since I don't often sew for boys. It seems harder to think of what to make. So far, my only ideas are tees and shorts or camp shirts and shorts. Not very imaginative. LOL

LOVE IT!!!!! I really like Tink's expession.

I had a nice long post prepared this morning and then the power went out. We had an Easter egg hunt this morning and I finished the purse I wanted to match my dress for tomorrow. It rained all day so I took the kids to see Horton. Megan kept telling us what was going to happen since she just saw it with her class. I thought it was cute, but I was glad I was sitting between her and Jacob because I don't think he would have appreciated it at all!

I do remember that I wanted to compliment Jayden on her excellent choice of fabrics for her cute skirt. I have extra leftover if she would like a little purse!

It made me smile because I was buying some shoes the other day, just plain white flats and the lady ringing me up (who had to be in her 70's at least) told me she had just bought the same pair, in silver. It didn't make me confident about my choice at all! At least I have the same taste as someone younger than me this time!

I think my ties are less droopy this time (I said ties, Spongie, LOL).

OK.......So here are the rest of the pics opf the room from different angles:

Close ups:

IMG_5381.jpg

It took me a long time to find something that was relatively reasonably priced and well constructed for the ribbon holders and stamp & stamp pad holders, but I'm pretty happy with these. They look nice and hold a lot! I also needed a place to put all my glitter, embossing powder and sprinkles. I used spice racks and jars that I bought from World Market for this purpose.

IMG_5383.jpg

I used 3 tables I got from Target on clearance to form an "L" to make my sewing/craft table area. These tables were $89.00 a piece and they provide a good open area to do everything I need, including laying cutting for quilting etc. I still need to purchase some cork board for the wall behind- can you see how I pinned the quilt squares to the wall so I could lay them out as they are finished??? According to my husband, this is not a good thing- lol!! Problem is, for the cost of what a cork board wall is- it'd be cheaper to put up new dry wall in that area! Does anyone know where to get cheap cork board?

IMG_5370.jpg

IN the closet behind my sewing table I bought drawers from Target (again on sale and used the millions of plastic shoe boxes I have purchased in years gone by, to store all kinds of things.

IMG_5378.jpg

On the other side of the closet I assembled wire cube units into a station that can hold my fabric bundles and scraping paper. See those hangers?? Does any of this look familiar to you guys???

IMG_5386.jpg

Desk area- this was the easiest part, (hmmmmmmm...... I wonder who that cute little guy on the computer screen could be??? )

BUT ..... I EVEN organized the drawers in here!! WOOOHOO!!!!! Do you know that as a result of doing this, I found that I had 6 tracing wheels and 4 seam rippers! Enough to open my own store! HA!!!
IMG_5379.jpg

SO that's it! I REALLY want to thank everyone here for all their ideas on how to organize things in an area that can be such a catastrophe if you let it be! You guys are the BEST!!!

Now....... I NEED YOUR HELP!!

Does anyone know what to do about this???????

IMG_5388.jpg

It's driving me CRAZY!!!!!! LOL!!!!

AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!:faint: :faint: :faint: :worship: :worship: :worship: WOW! I LOVE IT! Okay, next time you are in SLC you are COMING OVER TO MY HOUSE TO HELP ME ORGANIZE my craft room!:rotfl: That is a thing of beauty!

Everyone has made fabulous creations today. I am inmpressed and I think it is wonderful. Love the disney outfits, tinkerbell and the purses!!!! Big congrats everyone.
I of course went fabric shopping and went to a huge fabric quilt store got some great fabrics at 30% off!! WOO HHOOOO

Oh and picked up an emb. machine!!! yep the borther 750d ... woop woop!!! Excited to start using it!!!

Lori

Lori those sound like great finds!!! I bet you are super excited!! Now can we see something you are going to do with that lovely machine????

The sewing room is fabulous!!!!

I absolutely adore these. Are they very difficult? Do you think a beginner could tackle this? Is the pattern available online, or can you purchase them in the store?

Then I made a Farbenmix Anna for overtop. I used minnie dot and pirate fabric and made it reversible because I like how neat the hem is when something is reversible.

Love the outfits. I let Jenna design her own uniforms. She tells what she wants and try to match what she is telling me. The blue top and pants were her idea and so was a tan dress that I haven't posted yet.

No cork squares - extra wide felt from JoAnn's in a neutral color. 3-5 pins in the wall (good pins...) at the top and let it hang loose. It'll hold lots of squares without pins, though a quilt top will fall off, and if something's being difficult you can pin to it. It's what I use!

Ok so I am going to finish up Georgia's Easter dress. As much as I want to, I am soo tired and it really might not get done! Luckily its jelly bean fabric she picked out so not Easter eggs or anything. So its wearable for Spring and summer. She does have a cute dress I made last week she wore today to the Community Egg hunt this morning.

So we had to head to the fabric store this afternoon for elastic, I didnt have any wide enough. I ended up with $57.00 elastic. bwahahahaha I got 8 yrds of different Elvis print fabric! Plus a butt load of elastic and ribbon. I plan on making a strip work skirt or a dress with it. I will have to take some pictures later and show ya'll my new stash.

I keep trying to multiple quote and it's not working for me- neither are the smilies, or colored text or size change! Anyone else having this problem???

Well, let's see if I can remember who and what I was trying to quote.......

Utahmama- Somehow, I knew you would appreciate this room. I love organized things too. I sometimes think I just buy stuff so I can organize it! LOL!! Good idea to cover up the desk with fabric so you can't see the cords, but now , I have some decisions to make as I have been given some other very good ideas to solve that problem with.

Camelotcats, Revrob and Astro Orbiter- Great suggestions for the cord covers and the cork/felt board. I'm gonna head out to the hardware store Monday and see what I can find that is economical. I never thought about felt- that might work!

Jham- I'm actually coming into SLC next Saturday, but only staying for the weekend. Little Henry is being Blessed on Sunday. I have no doubt that I will be back! And when I am.....I'm all yours! I really love organizing and seeing the end result. To me, it is FUN!

I don't think that anyone answered yet. I'm not sure if anyone designs their own shirts on the Disboutique thread. We applique images from fabrics etc. The printed T Shirts are from the DISer desgin thread. Here's a link:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=892906
Mostly folks use transfer paper to print DISer designs out & iron onto blank TShirts.

I've used alot of disigns from this thread. But my understanding is that Disney's trouble with certain Disigners was because they had "donation" buttons on thier sites. and I agree, they are great designs!!

It's driving me CRAZY!!!!!! LOL!!!!

:worship: I love your sewing room. I have my stuff under the dining room table. If anyone kicks my machine, I'm going to kick them. I think you can get cork by the yard that isn't expensive. Or even cork squares.

I have the same wire trouble with my TV. You really can't see them, but I know they are there and it drives me crazy. I've seen where you can get this wire shelf thing, that goes up under the desk to hold the wires, then drop downby the desk leg. My BIL is a computer geek, and he's been hooking me up with some wireless. But I'm holding off on the mouse and keyboard. I just know I'd sit down to the computer and my mouse would be missing. So I think I'll wait on that a while. :goodvibes

Hey ALl!

I'm poppin gin from my ILs to say, WOW! OK, MIL needs the computer soon! I'll catch up later!

When I first read this, I thought you were trying to tell us something was wrong with the ILs. Phew. Glad I misunderstood.

Love your tink!! How'd you get the wings to be shadowed? I'm having trouble trying to come up with something for my nephew also. Why are boys things so boring?

I really, really love brown and pink together...and that, my friend is beautiful! I just "lof" it!
So, has anyone made that pattern a smidge bigger for all my mama gear? OR should I stop lugging sooooo much crap?

MISTY! I'm trying to pretend I haven't seen em in real life...but you are soooo good! That puppy one is freaking adorable and that applique is really sweet! I love the heart shaped wings.

Y'all-I picked up a fabulous "shabby chic" chair to go in my sewing room today at the D.I. (a thrift store). It's super cute! I'll post a picture of it when I post the Easter Dress later. I chose a shabby chic theme for my sewing room because it's easy and cheap and cute to do! The mismatched hodge- podge is it's charm! It'll have lots of cute baskets and pinks and greens etc. It's beautiful in my head :lovestruc

I almost bought a desk that was that off white style for little girl rooms that would make a nice sewing desk...but it was $75.00 which was a little more than I can spend at the moment. I'll hit the upcoming yardsales for the big stuff :cutie:
