I found fusible fleece by the interfacing by the cutting table at JoAnn's. What I can't find is tracing paper at either JoAnn's or WalMart. At JoAnn's they have never heard of it and good luck trying to find someone to ask at WalMart. I am trying to decide if it worth it to drive into Tampa and look at Hancocks.

Happy Easter everyone! :grouphug:

What a bunch of Dingledorfs those sales associates are, the tracing paper is on the notions wall near the marking items like tracing wheels, invisable marking pens, tailor's chalk etc. I can even picture in my head where it is at the JoAnn's St. Pete store. Nana

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hope everyone has a great day! Enjoy your little ones in the custom creations you made just for them!

I will post photos hopefully of my little Easter princess later!

Too bad it is so darned cold here! Have to cover up with a winter coat today!

I know that when I went into JoAnn's asking for fusible fleece, they looked at me like I had a third eye!

I told them that it should be with all of there other fusibles and interfacings. And lo and behold, there it was! Some of these ladies even "proclaim" to be sewers! I just don't get it!:confused3

This had me cracking up! I say this all the time!

I am up pretty darn early, but you know I was trying to catch a sneak peak at the Bunny hiding those darn eggs. I Hope everyone has a great day!

Just a quick photo before we head out to church!

Are you looking for the kind to use on Farbenmix? To copy a pattern? It's called pattern ease and kept with the interfacings behind the counter.

So, I'm not 100% finished yet but here is my 1st dress! Yay! I fell in love with this fabric at the store and had to get it. As some of you may remember I had started a dress with a butterick pattern and some pretty brown and pink fabric. Well, I decided to put that one on the backburner. It was a little too complicated for a beginner and for my 1st dress. I got this pattern off ycmt.com. It's the new perfect dress pattern. As you can probably see from my pictures, the gathering is kind of loose in the front on one side and it's really bothering me. I've been trying to fix it but I can't get it to stay. The thread broke so I tried to stitch in between but it's not staying. I feel like if I were to fix that gathering I'd have to undo so much and I don't wanna...haha...But I'm a perfectionist and looking at it is bothering me. Maybe it'll look different once Violette puts it on and I topstitch it. Anyone have any suggestions for fixing it without taking the whole thing apart?

I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. But I'm a perfectionist also. so I understand completely!! There is a contraption called "ruffler" that alot of us use. I've had mine for years, but still don't use it correctly. Someday I will read the directions at YCMT. You could also use a heavy thread and zig zag over it to gather. Also, another way is to mark (I just use pins) your circle of fabric off into 4 sections. Gather each peice individually. These marks can be matched to your front, back and side seams.

I've had a devastating morning!!! See this dress?

I made it last fall, and it still fits, but shorter. Only worn once. It was announced to me this morning that she looks like a fool!!!

I had to promise, no more Disney outfits except when we go to Disney!! Can you believe that!! I promised when she comes home, we can take the dress off and give it to my neice. (my sister has a "store" in her attic of multi sizes for her 2yo).

At least I can still Disney sew for my little niece. She'll love her princess dressses!!

Ok Boutiquers! This is the last time I'll do this to you:

I just updated my TR and it's my LAST one for a reeeeealy long time. :sad1:

So this is my last shameless plug.

(and you are contractually obligated to read it :sad2: LOL)

Now I can read it! I don't like reading them in progress. I like to read the whole thing at once!

RE: giant purses ~ I am a big fan! My youngest is 6 and I thought that by now I wouldn't need the "mama bag" but even my 10 year old always wants me to carry stuff. I'll probably still be carrying their junk around when they are in the 30's.

Happy Easter everyone!

We are all finished up hunting for eggs and my kids are gone from the breakfast table and are now shoveling jelly beans in their faces as fast as they can. Enchanted is playing on the t.v. and we are having a slow morning. Riley is still recovering from the flu, so we decided to stay home from church and I am feeling a little guilty about how nice it is to celebrate something and not have to run out.

We are going to run some cinnamon rolls to Daddy at the fire dept. so at least a few people will see them all gussied up in their EAster outfits. I am not crazy about them, but they are going to wear them anyway. I don't know what I was thinking when I cut out Drew's top. I was planning on making it much longer, but when I started sewing I realized I cut it too short and even though I have a ton of the fabric, I didn't feel like redoing it.

I will post pics. when we get dressed which won't be for a while! I love jammy mornings!!!!

I was reluctant to spend money on that becasuse I had really large tracing paper that I got for free years ago. I finally splurged and it was the best decision! It is a little tricky tracing the pattern onto it because it is so filmy that it moves around a lot, but once you get it traced the stuff is magic.

It's got a kind of felty texture so when you lay it on fabric it doesn't move. I don't even have to pin! I think cutting is my least favorite part of sewing and it speeds it up a ton.

HAPPY EASTER everyone!!!!I love all of the pictures of the Easter outfits that were posted today.
Kell-I love the pics of the Easter baskets and I thought I overdid Jenna's basket.
