Okay, here is what I made yesterday, yes I finally made my girls' Easter dresses :yay: And they were much easier than I had anticipated
I used this pattern for DD10, mainly because it had no zippers, buttons or anything of the sort--it is a pullover dress!
th_IMG_1088.jpg

I was really happy with this pattern! It was so easy. The skirt is basically like the YCMT tween flare skirt. You do need the ties though for a more fitted look. I used ribbon instead of making ties and I added the ruching. This pattern has 3 different sleeve styles or sleeveless. Jayden wanted the longer length. I'm just happy I found an easy, modest dress pattern that DD likes! I'll be using this again.
th_IMG_1082.jpg
th_IMG_1083.jpg

For Lily I used Carla's YCMT stripwork jumper pattern (again).
th_IMG_1084.jpg

Here it is with the underdress. I have a hard time making lengths match up to what I want them, so either the dress is too long or the underdress is too short on this combo, but hey, it makes it fuller :thumbsup2
th_IMG_1086.jpg

I will get the photos with the girls eventually. I need to make bows and headbands and bracelets etc.

Those look great!!! Very Springy- I am so ready for pastels!! So how did you do your ruffle- is it the tube one or the serger one or something else completly?? And YAY for a good pattern for your older dd!!

Well, I finally got back my sewing grove back!!

I made this for St. Patricks Day, but I'm hoping because of the red (and ladybugs) that DD will be able to wear it all spring and summer.
th_IMG_0216.jpg

The sockies were easy to make! I made the headband too small. I'll have to fix that! I'll try to get pictures of DD wearing it this afternoon. The top is looking a little small - I hope it fits ok!!
Love the accesorries and i love the fabric with the red. Great combo! Hey where is the model?

here is dd #1 outfit. Didn't have time to post it yesterday.

Like it. Love those colors on her!

I love these dots. I like that you used 2 patterns for 2 different looks for sisters to match! :thumbsup2

I think you did a great job!!! I have yet to attempt applique, your look great!!! Your boys are just so cute!!!!

Teresa ~ I really hope your teeth are feeling o.k. How long will it be before you are all finished and back to smiling with confidence?

Does anybody else have those dreams where your teeth are falling out. I know it's pretty common. I can' t remember what it is supposed to "mean" though. Mine are soooo realistic that when I wake up in the morning I expect to have missing teeth!

I will have temporary bridges put in the last of this month and then in April, so I might actually get to smile without being too embarassed at Disney!

I have those dreams too.

I have that dream often too. I think it is supposed to mean that you feel like you're out of control or something. Okay, I just looked it up... One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.
That sounds like a reasonable explenation to me! Thanks for looking that up!

Question for you all- Do you all think dd will be "to old" for the jon jon/ rompers?? She will be 2 in July. At what age do you think they are no longer appropriate??
I think 2 would be fine to wear these, especially for a girl.
I am pretty out of it they had to use alot of sedation i was mostly asleep and have been all night and just woke up to eat a lil' and take my pills and dis a lil' I think tommorow will be helk because i am having 5 broken teeth pulled . Thank you for watching the lil' ones for me today i hope they were angels for you . I owe ya a drink.
I will probably have a very good weigh in on FRI ...;)

I hope you get feeling better and remember DRUGS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!
i just had root scaling ,gum scraping and cleaning and i hurt like helk . I go in tommorow for 5-6? broken teeth extractions . yowza.. Take care...
:hug for you Misty! It will be so worth it when it's all done! I've heard that the root scaling really really hurts! You poor thing!

I'm feeling pretty good today, just really out of it.
Teresa - glad everything went OK today! For the next few days, you can love by one of my mottos: "Better living through chemistry."
Teresa - hope you feel better today!

Jenny
Teresa- hope you are resting and well medicated. Glad it went well!!!!
Thanks!

First I have to finish DD8's surprise Belle's grand ball dress - the red one. I got the abric last night and worked on it until midnight. I was puling he baste stictch last night to make the bottom for the skirt while I was watching New Amersterdam and darn it the thread broke. So tonight I'm back to the sewing machine. I'm doing it in a cranberry satin fabric with sparkles for the body instead of the velour because I think it's going to be too hot. Then I found white brocade in clearance for the front and down the middle, but I found a gold swirl fabric to put over the top of the bottom. i'll post the pictures when It's done. It's taking no time to do it, which I'm excited about because DD5 is going to want a new dress for April's trip once she see's DD8's.
I can't wait to see pictures!!! It sounds gorgeous!

Well, FCAT (Florida state-wide testing of 3rd graders and up) began today. Jacob has aced every practice test but he is still nervous. The teachers really scare the bejezus out of them. Wish us luck this week!
Arminda always get so worried when they do these tests here too. It's so much pressure for little kids! Last year one of the teachers told the kids that if they didn't do good on the test that some of the teachers would lose their jobs!!!:scared1: I told Arminda that if the teacher lost her job, it wasn't Arminda's fault! I was SOO mad about that! Arminda is the kind of child who takes everything to heart, so she thought it was up to her to saver the teachers jobs! GRRRRRRRRRRR

(sorry, rambling again!)
1.)There's a multi-quoting tutorial in the very first post in this thread.

2.)I LOVE your boys, they're just too darn cute!!! The outfits you made them look great!! I think your applique work is terrific! Tessa has been practicing her karate moves a lot. I'll have to get pictures. She does slow-motion karate, so it should be pretty easy. :lmao:

3.)have that dream occasionally. Far more often, I have a dream where I'm in high school and I've forgotten where all of my classes are. I have that dream so often that I started thinking it actually happened, like a memory! What else do you all dream about on a regular basis, that's appropriate for the Disboards? :thumbsup2

4.)Ouch!!! I'll be thinking of you today, Misty! Just keep your eyes on the prize, a beautiful smile!!

1.) Yep, everyone should read the first post, lots of good instructions and information there!
2.) I love her slow motion karate!! SUCH concentration!!!!
3.)Ah yes, the forget where your classes are dream. I HATE that one!!! I also sometimes have a dream where I am running late for school and forget to get completely dressed so I'm running around in my undies all day!

And, this is about the time of year my vacation nightmares start. I realize that this is the day that we are leaving for Florida, but I don't have ANYTHING packed! Hmmm, I wonder what that dream means??? :rotfl2:
That is so cute Leslie!!!
I couldn't even find a picture to scan. I think they are in my old computer. So I just took the dress out and made Zofia put it on. :lmao: It's a little small on her, because I made it for my brothers wedding about 18 months ago:rotfl2: Anyway, here it is! I hope it gives you some inspiration!

zofia009.jpg
That is so pretty!!!!! I love the little scrunchie things too!!!
I used to work for a major airline. I worked at the airport and was often out on the tarmac. Since I stopped working there (about 12 years ago) I have a lot of crasing airplane dreams. I'm not afraid to fly :confused3 but sometimes these dreams are pretty scary. Usually I am working at the airport and seeing a crash landing. :scared1: I'm never on the crashing planes (or helicopters) in my dreams, I'm always watching from the ground. I wonder what that means? :rotfl:

That is gorgeous! I don't know what you did with that skirt, but those little pinchy things are cool. Did that make any sense? :rotfl:

Ooh, those would be really scary dreams!!!

pinchy, scrunchie, whatever we call them, they are cool!
here is dd #1 outfit. Didn't have time to post it yesterday.

I love that! It looks adorable on her!

Teresa, hope you're feeling a little better today! Keep those meds going!

Misty, good luck at the dentist today! Same thing on the meds! Maybe your MIL can come stay with you and help with the kids. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Yep, I'm feeling better today! Arminda has an ice cream social at school today, so I'm trying to make it through with just Tylenol.

And, you are just mean about Misty's MIL!!!! I have a sneakin suspion that that would NOT make her feel better!

That is too cute. That is the kind of princessy dress that I wanted for DD to wear, but last night I asked her (hypothetically of course:rolleyes1 ) "If you could be a pirate or a princess what would you be?" and DD said "A pirate, but a pretty one." :sad1: Well I guess I don't get to make the pretty princess dress, but I have come up with what I think will be a very pretty pirate dress. I hope she likes it. It will be a mix between a pirate and a princess.

Okay! I am off to make some daisies for the boutique outfits...wish me luck! I'm also planning on finishing some headbands too! :scared1: We'll see!
HEY! What're you doing Thurs? Wanna get together and give me some pointers on my serger action? I NEED some tutorials on that and some other things...like the ribbons you did on the girls dresses!!!!

Hi all
I have spent the past week reading and looking at all of your wonderful creation. You guys rock!!!
You have inspired me to get out my sewing machine that has been sitting in the top of my closet for almost 5 years.
The only thing I have ever sewed was diapers and that was 5 years ago so,
probably have lots of questions. Hope you dont get tired of me lol

My dd saw some of the twirl skirts so that will be the first thing I tackle.I have lots of old fabric left over from my diaperig days, she has already picked out the one she likes so off I go.......

That is so cute, and very versatile! You could even put a long-sleeved shirt under it next year for Christmas!

How gorgeous! The dress is really pretty, too! ;) I love the pinchy things, too!

Wow, now that's a scary dream! I think I'll stick to dreaming about getting lost in high school! :rotfl:

How cute! I love the top's twirl factor!

:
Thanks for your help sometimes I just need reassurance. I was also thinking about adding on a little skirt to a few, just to girl it up.
That would be really cute!

YAY!!! We've got another convert!!:goodvibes
:welcome:!!! I can't wait to see your twirl skirt. Don't hesitate to ask questions. You can also look in Teresa's bookmarks (you can even do a search in them if you're looking for something specific).

Thanks, I got it somewhere on the internet, you can find it on :wizard: It is Michael Miller's pastel disco dot.

I think Thursday sounds good. I'll double check and email you. Your house or mine? If I go to your house that will mandate a Hobby Lobby side trip :scared1:

Yay! on the modest DD10 dress!!!! :lovestruc Modest is the Hottest! ;)

Love your fabric choice with them. Not your typical Easter fabric so you'll get lots of wear out of them.

I love the underdress. Did you use a pattern designed for that purpose of adapt a dress pattern?

I need a little more Hobby Lobby fabric (I under-bought...again!). But I'll call you and Sugarbees if I make the trek out there.

Too cute, I love the bright polka dots and the way you jazzed up the ties on your older daughter's dress. Yours looks better than the one on the pattern cover :)

Hi -I love all the outfits, the girls look so adorable!!!! I was wondering what pattern you used - and also, do you find that you need to undo the buttons in order to get the tops on and off? or are they more for decorations(I'd love to not have to make button holes)!!!

Thanks, Wendy

Wendy,
The pattern is an altered McCalls for the largest girl to give it buttonholes to match the other two and an altered Butterick for the 2 smaller ones. As far as I know they are undoing at least one button to put them on.
