It's 7:19am and both my kids are still asleep...so I will try and catch up! This is rather rare - they are usually up at 6am...

Question for you all- Do you all think dd will be "to old" for the jon jon/ rompers?? She will be 2 in July. At what age do you think they are no longer appropriate??

I have no idea but my ds will be 3 in June, and I made him a mickey mouse one for Disney. I would think that at 2 yo, it will definitely be appropriate for her.

And I finally got the Dora Jumper dress Mostly finished- Still have to hem and add the buttons. I chickened out on appliqueing the face, well I just did the nose. I was scared to mess up her mouth and eyes!:scared:

The Dora outfit is adorable!

Great outfits, and I love the both the Nemo outfits.

It's fixed! I took her to a pediatric dentist today, and they did an x-ray and said that she doesn't appear to have damaged the permanent tooth. Also, the broken part was only the enamel, so no damage to the dentin or nerve!! They roughed her little tooth up a bit and then squirted this goop on it and shaped it to look like the other tooth. Then they put that blue light thingy on it to harden it up. And just like that, she looks brand new! She was sooooo good, didn't fuss, cry, pull away, or anything. I was such a proud mama!

Yay..that is great!

Love the matching outfits! I never even thought about making matching outfits for dh and ds. My ds is only 2 1/2, so he won't be complaining yet. Not sure how dh will feel though.

Ok, gotta come back and catch up later. DD is up!

Teresa - hope you feel better today!

Jenny

Steph, you and Megan look darling! The guys may think differently when you and Megan are getting all kinds of compliments in your custom outfits! And I love the little jumper you did - the snaps look great!

OK, told the kids I would play some wii with them. Is it sad that DS is far better than I am? I am truly pitiful at video games. Oh well, we'll have some fun!

1) Thank you! Yeah, the guys will be sorry then!
2) Love the owl outfit and skirt! Glad you got the tie thing figured out so you won't have wet ties. It really is a cute pattern and I love the retro fabric. That hat is so cute too!
3) I actually play tennis and my 8 year old creams me at wii tennis! I get so mad! I will only play wii sports and wii play with him because the other games are too complicated for me.

Those are so cute. I love plaid. I told you the snap pliers were easy. I think it is fun too, because they are so fast. DD saw me do it the other day and she said, "That's it?? I could do that." :rotfl:

You were right, they are fast and easy. Thanks!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the plaid!!! Love it!!! It's the Celtic girl in me I suppose, but I think plaids look fresh and fabulous on anyone!!!

Can I also just say that I am BEYOND green with envy that y'all are sassing around outside in shorts and tees and cute bare feet?!

It's still North Face weather up here!! I have a fire in the fireplace at the moment...layers on...shivering...chillywilly am I!

Love the little Mickey romper too!!

:goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks! I got the idea from looking at some fancy pants magazine that had kids in Ralph Lauren plaid every page. I thought, hey I can do that! Sorry about your chilly weather, soon it will be unbearably hot and humid down here and I'll wish for some cool weather.

Well, I grabbed the wrong one: they are all great but I really love the little fairy outfit! That is just adorable. And your daughter's polished toes look so sweet.

Okay, I love the shorts and t, but I totally expected to see you in a darling shirred top like Megan's!! I think you'd look good in that style.

That probably would be more flattering since I am like three sizes bigger on the bottom that the top. Good idea!:thumbsup2

Tell Megan that Tessa said she looks really cute and that I think she is looking FIERCE! I love your plaid outfits. You two will look so sweet together! Too bad the guys are going to miss out.

I know, doesn't she look like trouble? I told her what you said and she said, "I was trying to smile with the lollipop in my mouth!" I had bribed her with candy because I needed pictures for :wizard: . She was pretty much over it at this point.

I love your outfits!!! What's wrong with those boys of yours!
Ok, what did you do with Scrappy? I don't see him!

LOL! Megan said he must have been playing in the backyard. Usually, he is right up on us when the camera is out. Glad everything went well and what a sweet husband to make you soup! :lovestruc

Your outfits are cute, but these pictures crack me up! Sweet boys! I bet they will get lots of attention in their outfits, great job mom!

i love the plaid so preppy and cute i love the mickey heads on her white shorts cute
I love the mickey jumper jon jon that also looks great.

Thanks! I hope you feel better when the drugs wear off.

I love the matchy matchy! Adorable shorts! what pattern did you use for those?

I used Simplicity 7229. It says 1 hour, which is a lie! I don't think they count cutting out the pieces. Actually sewing it went really fast. It has a draw string so no elastic. Be sure and measure your hips. According the package, my hips make me two sizes bigger than what I wear in off the rack clothes.

Well, FCAT (Florida state-wide testing of 3rd graders and up) began today. Jacob has aced every practice test but he is still nervous. The teachers really scare the bejezus out of them. Wish us luck this week!

The lighting on your pictures is just beautiful. Do you mind sharing what kind of camera and flash you use?

I shoot with a Canon 30D and a 50mm 1.4 lens. I rarely use flash at all if I can avoid it as I hate fiddling with it. When I do use flash it's just a cheapie off brand Bower flash from Ebay. I also use Photoshop to enhance and correct images as needed.

Question for you all- Do you all think dd will be "to old" for the jon jon/ rompers?? She will be 2 in July. At what age do you think they are no longer appropriate??

I think up to 3 years is good for jon jons. but remember if they potty train it may be hard for them to get on and off.

Steph - I love the preppy plaid sets!! I'm looking for a plaid like that - hopefully they'll have it again this year. You could do matching tees (or polos) for your guys. Just put a small Mickey head on the chest. I made 2 for DH for, 1 for AK and 1 for dinner on the cruise. He wore them happily. I wish I had made him more to wear!

I LOVE your boys, they're just too darn cute!!! The outfits you made them look great!! I think your applique work is terrific! Tessa has been practicing her karate moves a lot. I'll have to get pictures. She does slow-motion karate, so it should be pretty easy. :lmao:

Does anybody else have those dreams where your teeth are falling out. I know it's pretty common. I can' t remember what it is supposed to "mean" though. Mine are soooo realistic that when I wake up in the morning I expect to have missing teeth!
I have that dream occasionally. Far more often, I have a dream where I'm in high school and I've forgotten where all of my classes are. I have that dream so often that I started thinking it actually happened, like a memory! What else do you all dream about on a regular basis, that's appropriate for the Disboards? :thumbsup2

I think it's a personal preference. If you think she'd look cute in them, then put them on her! I'm sure she'd look adorable! I always get flashbacks of Henry's dorky cousins wearing these things when they were 5 or so (complete with knee-high socks and sandals). Now, THAT'S too old! :rotfl:

I am pretty out of it they had to use alot of sedation i was mostly asleep and have been all night and just woke up to eat a lil' and take my pills and dis a lil' I think tommorow will be helk because i am having 5 broken teeth pulled . Thank you for watching the lil' ones for me today i hope they were angels for you . I owe ya a drink.
I will probably have a very good weigh in on FRI ...;)

I hope you get feeling better and remember DRUGS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!
i just had root scaling ,gum scraping and cleaning and i hurt like helk . I go in tommorow for 5-6? broken teeth extractions . yowza.. Take care...
Ouch!!! I'll be thinking of you today, Misty! Just keep your eyes on the prize, a beautiful smile!

I hate the cutting fabric part! It always takes me forever! If I just counted the sewing time, minus ironing, seam ripping, threading the bobbin, etc... every pattern would probably be a 1 hour pattern! :rotfl:

It's too bad they put so much pressure on little kids to do well on the standardized tests! Poor Jacob!

First, I followed the directions for the cuff hem in the pattern. Then, I cut a strip of fabric 3x the width of the bottom of the skirt and 6" tall. I put the right sides together and sewed up the long end. Then, I turned it right side out. Next, I used my ruffler to ruffle it up. But, instead of sewing along the edge with the ruffler, I sewed in the middle of the strip. So, it's extra "fluffy". Next, I folded over the unfinished edges of the ruffle and sewed them in place. Then, I started at the side seam of the skirt and sewed the ruffle on top of the cuff, all the way around, sewing right over the thread from the ruffler. I hope this is what you were asking!

/QUOTE]

This is exactly what I was asking! Thanks! I was thinking it was pretty close to what you explained but I wanted to make sure:)

Well, I finally got back my sewing grove back!!

I made this for St. Patricks Day, but I'm hoping because of the red (and ladybugs) that DD will be able to wear it all spring and summer.

The sockies were easy to make! I made the headband too small. I'll have to fix that! I'll try to get pictures of DD wearing it this afternoon. The top is looking a little small - I hope it fits ok!!

Oh Oh please do.
I couldn't even find a picture to scan. I think they are in my old computer. So I just took the dress out and made Zofia put it on. :lmao: It's a little small on her, because I made it for my brothers wedding about 18 months ago:rotfl2: Anyway, here it is! I hope it gives you some inspiration!

That is so cute! I love the ladybug shamrock fabric!

I used to work for a major airline. I worked at the airport and was often out on the tarmac. Since I stopped working there (about 12 years ago) I have a lot of crasing airplane dreams. I'm not afraid to fly :confused3 but sometimes these dreams are pretty scary. Usually I am working at the airport and seeing a crash landing. :scared1: I'm never on the crashing planes (or helicopters) in my dreams, I'm always watching from the ground. I wonder what that means? :rotfl:

That is gorgeous! I don't know what you did with that skirt, but those little pinchy things are cool. Did that make any sense? :rotfl:

sohappy, love your boys customs! And love seeing pictures of those darling boys!

Teresa, hope you're feeling a little better today! Keep those meds going!

Misty, good luck at the dentist today! Same thing on the meds! Maybe your MIL can come stay with you and help with the kids. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Oooh yes, I know that feeling. I made myself a skirt once that wasn't all flow and lovely, so when I went to put it on, I was like um did I gain weight??? hahahaha Lesson learned. I love drawstring!

GOOD LUCK for testing Jacob!!

Ok here are the pics of what I have been up to.

th_S2010089.jpg

This dress is for :wizard: . I made it using the Daisy Kingdom pattern and the Pooh Bear toile fabric.
th_S2010085.jpg

This outfit is for DD. She wants to wear it to Crystal Palace. I altered the Daisy Kingdom pattern a bit to make this into a top.

It's all really cute, but I just love these. I still have my Pooh toile just sitting there waiting for me to make something out of it. I can't make up my mind & I love the fabric so I want to really love the end result.

Okay, my photos were messed up on this post so I'm going to start over!

Okay, here is what I made yesterday, yes I finally made my girls' Easter dresses :yay: And they were much easier than I had anticipated

I used this pattern for DD10, mainly because it had no zippers, buttons or anything of the sort--it is a pullover dress!

IMG_1088.jpg

I was really happy with this pattern! It was so easy. The skirt is basically like the YCMT tween flare skirt. You do need the ties though for a more fitted look. I used ribbon instead of making ties and I added the ruching. This pattern has 3 different sleeve styles or sleeveless. Jayden wanted the longer length. I'm just happy I found an easy, modest dress pattern that DD likes! I'll be using this again.

IMG_1082.jpg

IMG_1083.jpg

For Lily I used Carla's YCMT stripwork jumper pattern (again).

IMG_1084.jpg

Here it is with the underdress. I have a hard time making lengths match up to what I want them, so either the dress is too long or the underdress is too short on this combo, but hey, it makes it fuller :thumbsup2

IMG_1086.jpg

I will get the photos with the girls eventually. I need to make bows and headbands and bracelets etc.

It looks great- These kid are growing to fast!!!
That is beautiful!! I like the pinchy things too.
I have no idea but my ds will be 3 in June, and I made him a mickey mouse one for Disney. I would think that at 2 yo, it will definitely be appropriate for her.

The Dora outfit is adorable!
Thank you- Did you put the snaps in yours too? I think that is what I want to do. dd is expressing interest in the potty. She likes to sit on it but doesn't know what to do yet.
I think up to 3 years is good for jon jons. but remember if they potty train it may be hard for them to get on and off.
I just wasn't sure- I remember them being up to 24 months at the store when my son wore them. He had a few and really liked them. Now come to think of it he was about 2 when wore them in FL.

Thanks for your help sometimes I just need reassurance. I was also thinking about adding on a little skirt to a few, just to girl it up. :rotfl:

Good luck Spongie!!

Hope your feeling not to sore today Teresa! :flower3:
