I noticed these things, too, on my recent stay (this past week). I won't be back anytime soon unless I hear of improvement. And I am penning a letter to the GM, noting the bad, and the good, but emphasizing the bad. I was not impressed with this last stay. How sad.
I would encourage you to write to DVC as well. The more guests speak up the better.
Maintenance did come right away and tape it up, I hope the room was taken out of service for further repair. My daughter loved the shower design and jumped right in, too much water gets outside the shower door onto the floor, bad design or tile installation, not sure, but I wouldn't tolerate that at home. We ordered room service and called for dishes to be picked up about 8:30pm. I pretty much knew they wouldn't be picked up and covered food waste with plastic wrap; the next morning tray and dishes still on the floor outside the room with bugs crawling around. Same huge bags of trash in hallways for 2 days. Even with these annoyances I hope to stay again.
