oh, gina.......i LOVED the story!!!!!! how romantic and sweet! and the ring is beautiful. you are one lucky lady! and of course he's one lucky man!!!!! i'm glad you shared your story with us - and hijack any time. i've done it many times. i feel like we're all friends here and we need to share our stories with each other! CONGRATULATIONS!!! (again!) :bride:

GINA!! So cute! I love your story, and I am so glad that you shared it with us. Like Dawn said, we are all friends here too and this is a HUGE moment in your life. I am so happy for you!

Well ladies, I am asking for some prayers and pixie dust for myself - which I don't normally do, but I'm worried. I have a spot on my lower abdomen that acted like a (strangely located) pimple at first, but is now larger, with dry skin on top and looks like it's bruised underneath. I don't like the way it looks, and I made an appointment for two weeks from today (the soonest availability) with a dermatologist. I hate that I have to wait 2 weeks to learn more about this. It is a little tender (like a pimple or bruise), but other than that it isn't bothering me physically. Emotionally however, it is driving me nuts! I will NOT turn to food to comfort me!!! I am stressing though. Anyway, if you could just send some prayers, pixie dust, or just good thoughts my way, I'd really appreciate it.
Prayers and pixie dust coming your way!

sorry for the takeover...hope you don't mind!!!!
Love the pics. Wishing you all the best with your sweetheart.

Did I mention things are very stressful at work? (Rant coming on) My boss has really lost it. On Monday she sent out an email, mark anything in the workroom that we wanted to keep, otherwise she would dump it (Dump being the operative word here). I walked into the room today, and here are ten or so Avery-type boxes full of papers dumped out on the floor. Not set on the floor to go; overturned and dumped out. Thrown on the heap was a book-binding machine (I didn't know she was going to throw out equipment), and it's been literally thrown, so all of the little pieces of plastic and paper inside are scattered everywhere. Also, it looked like a piece was broken off from being thrown. She screamed at the custodian to clean it all up. Then, when he started cleaning, she followed him into the room, and says that she had thrown out the wrong machine (not in a nice way, either). The custodian had to fish it out of the garbage can, where he had put it in an effort to clean up. I thought, I sure as heck hope she didn't break the only one we're going to be left with.
Then, at the end of the day, she had this big, emotional meeting where she read a sentimental book about memories as her way of saying goodbye (she's moving to the middle school). People pretty much just sat there quietly when she finished. It was weird and draining. I come home physically exhausted, partly from the work, partly from the atmosphere. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to summer.

OK, rant over. Just 2 more days of school:thumbsup2

Hi all!

I know I've been MIA for a while, things have been pretty hectic lately. I'd go through all the details but I don't want to bring the thread down. I also haven't been very peepish lately. It shows in my attitude, energy level, the fit of my clothes and on the scale. I'll try to come back more often, I miss everyone here.

It's late and I have to get some sleep.

Gina~ I loved your story with photos. How fantastic, what a romantic guy!:thumbsup2

Danielle - ugh!- 2 days and then no more of that whacko boss! Stay strong my friend!

Noni~ glad you are back here now though. Hopefully you'll stick around and let us help you with whatever you are going through right now. If you can't at least check in once in a while! Sending good thoughts your way.

Sounds like you are a terrific friend too helping your friends move in that heat wave we just had..We live so close to Wall Street, we live in Tribeca which is about a 10 minute walk away. I love what they are doing to downtown manhattan they are building it up so much i know when most people think of nyc as this super busy place and for mostly everywhere else in manhattan it is..BUT downtown manhattan is super quiet, walk down there on a friday night - sunday when most people are not working and its a ghost town...They opened up a bunch of high end stores there now too, Hermes, and Tiffany's etc.. I use to work right on Wall Street on The New York Stock Exchange, my fiance still works there...next time you come to nyc you have to let me know so we can have a mini peep meet!

Thanks for the welcome back. My issues are mainly stress, all the things that come together and make you feel nearly overwhelmed. I worked extra hours the first two weeks after vacation, DD#2 came home sick (she actually got ill while we were in DTD on our last day.......) and I still have a BIL living with us. Toss in two teenaged DD, reconfiguring our budget to include our new DVC :cool1: and a few annual expenses that I forgot were coming up :headache: and a speeding ticket :rolleyes1 and the fact I'm not feeling 100% myself. We've had storm issues, a yard sale and an out of town wedding where DH is the best man to keep us busy and a bit off kilter.

Gina~ Congrats!!! How exciting! I love hearing about all the sweet and romantic proposals. DH never acutally proposed; he wanted to ask my dad for permission before he did and he never had the chance so we just picked a date and started planning.

Wendy~ WTG on new pants!! And a size 1 at that. :lmao: I HATE pants shopping. I feel like a cow. Bras aren't much better either. I'll have to check out LB and see what they have. I think their semi-annual sale is either right now or startign soon........ it runs about the same time as Bath and Body and Vitctoria's Secret.

Danielle~ I am so sorry about your principal. I've known people like that and it's never any fun to deal with them, worse I'm suspecting when it's a supervisor and some one who's supposed to be a professional. Let's hope she doesn't continue this behavior around more impressionalbe children.

Lynda~ PD :wizard: coming your way. I hope it's something simple like an ingrown hair. Sorry we never got to get together in WDW. It was such a hectic week for us.

Shannon~ Congrats on graduating!

Kat~ WTG on losing the WDW weight. Mine has moved in for the long haul and I think it's starting to invite friends over..........

I'll have to get my pix uploaded and pot a few along with a mini-TR. We had a great week and are ready to go back. I had to cancel our Sept trip, we just couldn't swing a second trip this year with purchasing DVC. The up side is, I will most likely get an AP for 2009!!!:cool1: We're looking at trips in Jan '09, Nov '09 and just because we can..... early Jan '10 so I can use my AP 3 times.

I've got to run, I have to drive Dh up to meet our friends so he can do his pre-wedding stuff today and tomorrow. I'll go to the wedding on Sat and bring him home then.

Noni, sorry that things have been so crazy! I hope that they settle down and that you get back in the groove.

I wound up taking yesterday off from work due to sheer exhaustion, I think. I have been keeping my calories too low and working out too much. I basically wound up sleeping 16 hours out of a 24 hour period, and I ate 1500 cals yesterday (well, drank a few of them, too), and feel a lot better today.

Hope that everyone has a great pre-weighin day!

Kat! Be careful!

I've been sleeping way too much and am still tired and have ZERO appetite thanks to some lovely drama. I'm trying to "snap out of it" by faking my way through the day. :bitelip:

hey, peeps!

danielle and noni -

glad to see you here, noni! :)

i've been super stressed today - last night i found out that the ABC taping of the christmas parade is the same day we were planning on going to MK. um........NO THANK YOU!!!!!! i would end up going to jail because i'd assault someone for crowding me too much. so you'd see me on ABC at disney world getting carried off to the slammer. :rotfl2: so i've been revamping our plans and i think we're just gonna change our dates. i'm in court right now and i hope the judge can't see that i'm in the internet!

i'm doing the "no mercy" class tonight that i told you guys about awhile back. this is the first time i've had the chance to take it b/c she switched around the schedule for june and it's on thursday nights now. wish me luck!

Good luck!

I just got an invitation to my 20 year reunion for Law School....how the heck did that happen. But, wow...they had old pictures in a brochure about the reunion. I was in a group shot, man I was thin and cute! :faint: I thought I was fat then. It was probably more like 10 pounds overweight instead of 60! I'm taping this picture to my fridge for inspiration!

Hi all. I was wondering if I could get a wee bit of help. Is there anything that you all say to yourselves or to to make yourself motivated to do the exercise thing. The food thing I am ok with but the exercise part of it I guess I am just to lazy. I spend the whole day thinking about it but never seem to get doing anything about it. Pure lazyness I suppose:( ... I want to do it .... I guess I don't have to report my exercise routine to anyone so I guess I never worry about it getting it done. Help please!popcorn:: Bad smiley...bad smiley....:lmao:

You might want to check out the exercise challenge threads on these boards. Usually someone posts a monthly challenge where you pick a goal of the # of minutes or hours you will exercise during that month. My current motivation is looking at myself in summer clothes...can you say FLABulous!:( I hide underneath my warm winter clothes and then sumeer comes and KERPLOWY :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Kat/UM/Noni -

Dawn - I would also end up in jail - crowds I can handle, super-mega crowds where people are trying to get nearer to the camera, no thank-you! :rotfl:

Farmergirl - I struggle with exercise, I would much rather watch tv or something! Sooo, I bought a cross-trainer so now I have no excuse as I can go on that whilst im watching television (or thats the theory anyway, putting it into action is another thing!) :rotfl2:

Well, I solved my Something old, new, borrowed, blue problem (or rather my mum did!). She bought me a beautiful lace garter (new), with ribbon running through it (blue) and theres a tiny silk pocket on it which holds a genuine sixpence (old) and a tiny copy of the poem 'Borrowed' by Tom....something or other, which takes care of the borrowed part! Its such a beautiful gift, and it solves all my problems at once! Ive never seen anything like it before, so its nice and original too! She bought it from a company called 'The Lucky Sixpence' who specialise in things like that! :cool1:

Hope everyones having a good day :)
