Oh I love wedding talk...even though I'm not married, nor do I have a boyfriend

Anyway, I like the idea of the prelude music and the bridal party walking to disney music, dream is a wish your heart makes, so this is love, when you wish upon a star, etc (not super crazy about a whole new world being thrown in there but it's not my wedding ;) ) And then I would walk down to something more traditional. I personally don't plan on using the bridal march either but I do like canon in D and there is another classical song that I can't think of right now (sorry!). Or would you consider a disney song as your recessional in addition or instead of? I'm trying to think of one that is romantic, yet a little upbeat...

Have any of you been to St. Augustine, Florida? Even though I'm a native floridian, I've never been there so my mom, our dog and I are going for a long weekend in July. We're staying at the St. Francis Inn (the oldest Bed and Breakfast in the U.S. and supposedly haunted...oooh spooky!)

I've been doing some reading up on the local attractions/things to do, but I was just looking for some tips on the actual city and also some tips for traveling with a dog. Mind you, this is a standard poodle who weighs about 55 lbs - not something I can just throw in my purse.

Hey Peeps

What do you think of this idea, we are having a string quartet for our ceremony on our wedding day. I was thinking about coming down the aisle to "when you wish upon a star!" is this cheesy?

We were going back and forth about favors, i didnt want to have anything on the table and i felt like most people throw favors out anyway, i know i cant remember the last time i got a favor i actually liked..so we went with this idea. we rented an old fashion photobooth where guests can take the pictures home as a favor and then i get all the pictures on a cd to keep forever
I LOVE When You Wish Upon a Star! That's a great song for coming down the aisle. I used to sing it to my kids when they were tiny, and searched everywhere for a music box that played it. It's a beautiful, touching song. (Just don't do what my friend did, and come down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast. I thought it was rude to the groom.)

The photobooth is a fun idea too. :thumbsup2

I LOVE this idea! Very clever! :thumbsup2 And really like your idea of walking down the isle to " When you wish apon a star " I wish I would have thought of that!

:( I didn't get my magnet!

Me either :sad1:

HONEST OPINIONS PLEASEEE I CAN TAKE IT!!!!! I dont want to come down to the traditional "here comes the bride" my other option is canon in d

Prepare yourself Peeps I am going to be throwing alot of "what do you think wedding questions by everybody over the next 3 months

I think When you wish upon a star would be a great song for you to come down the aisle to! Not cheesy at all!
I Love love love the Photobooth idea, its so original!
Im walking down the aisle to 'Annies Song', but not the John Denver version, its a flute version played by James Galway. I know when we picked our songs it was a nightmare - everytime I thought of a song I liked I listened properly to the words and its surprising how many weren't really appropriate!

tell me about it! i always wanted to walk down the aisle to "wild horses" (the sundays version) and once i listened to the lyrics i realized that's probably not the best song to walk down the aisle to. one of my best friends is a huge tori amos fan like me and she walked down the aisle to "1,000 oceans," which in my opinion is about someone dying. i didn't say anything to her, but i thought that was kinda strange!

I completely understand about listening to lyrics and disecting them for a wedding, I pretty much did this all last night until about 2 am.

Me either :sad1:

sorry you didnt get your magnet, I have to be honest when this challenge came about I had a feeling the losers would not follow through with sending magnets to the winners...but maybe there is still time on this situation.

Sorry to take the Peep Thread Waaaayyy :offtopic: but i consider everyone on this thread friends and could use everybody help to bounce ideas off of.

I am going to give myself a good week to think about what ceremony music i decide on using...right now this is what i am thinking

Prelude Music: Everlong Foo Fighers, One U2, So This is Love (that is all I have right now)

Processional: I will pick 2 songs
Baby I'm Amazed
Whole New World
Bittersweet Symphony
Cant take my eyes off of you

Bride Entrance
When you wish upon a star
or
Canon in D....basically I want to have the processional music or the bride entrance song more traditional, i dont want everything to be so modern

Recessional
All you Need is LOVE...Beatles

BTW..this is the FIRST time....I THINK I learned how to multi quote!!!! :worship: :worship:

I love the idea for the wedding processional. I didn't use the traditional wedding processional and recessional either. I used "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" for the processional (Love that music) and "Ode to Joy" for the recessional. Love your idea for "When you wish upon a star".

I think that you photobooth idea is great. Unique and no one will throw those pictures away!:thumbsup2

LMO - I totally love the idea of walking down the aisle to "when you wish upon a star" I went very traditional and I wish I had the dis boards way back then, I totally would have done that. I also like the photobooth idea. I love candles, Yankee Candles to exact and that was my favor. I votive holder with a candle in it tied up with plastic wrap and jordan almonds with a ribbon. The color of the ribbon and candle was burgandy/maroon since that was the color of my girls' dresses.

so i got hershey's kisses and hugs, wrapped like 4 of them in toulle, tied it closed with a little silver ribbon and i bought some business cards that had cute little silver swirls on them and had "hugs and kisses from the mister and misses, ray & dawn, april 13, 2002" printed on the cards, punched a hole in the corner of the card and attached it with the ribbon. i just sat them out in a silver basket next to the sign-in book and then we moved them to the gift table during the reception. it was cute and inexpensive and, best of all, people could eat them!

i love the idea of "when you wish upon a star," especially since you were proposed to at disney world. i had "a dream is a wish your heart makes" played while the guests were being sat at my wedding and everyone commented to me on how cute that was.

I love that idea with the kisses. And I agree she has to have that song especially because she was engaged at WDW.

Oh I love wedding talk...even though I'm not married, nor do I have a boyfriend

I read the DIS wedding boards and I have been married for almost 12 years. Although I would love to do a VR at WDW for my 25th anniversary. Better start saving.:)

I LOVE When You Wish Upon a Star! That's a great song for coming down the aisle. I used to sing it to my kids when they were tiny, and searched everywhere for a music box that played it. It's a beautiful, touching song.

Did you ever find a music box? I have this CD it's called Country's best signs Disney's best and someone sings "Baby of Mine" from Dumbo, well one day I was listening to the CD while giving him a sponge bath (which he hated) anyway he started to cry and then I started dancing with him all wrapped up in his hooded towel and that song came on and I sung to him and he stopped crying. To this day I say that's our song to him. Ok now that I'm going to cry now gotta move on to another topic. and I would sing that to my first son if he cried

(Just don't do what my friend did, and come down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast. I thought it was rude to the groom

Yeah I kind of agree

You go girl:woohoo:

DH proposed to me RIGHT before IllumiNations started. So we went with IllumiNations music. While guests were being seated we played the IllumiNations music, and while the bridesmaides and matron of honor walked down the aisle they walked down the aisle to the first part of the song they play at the end of IllumiNations (We Go On) just as the globe opens up. And then we timed it just right so at the end of the same song when the choir porition started in the song, I walked down the aisle. And then for DH and I 1st dance we danced to Promise, the song they play after IllumiNations is over. So you wanting to walk down the aisle to when you wish upon a star is NOT a cheesy idea! You walk down the aisle to whatever you want to. You have the music you want. Its your wedding.

LMO - I've played in wedding quartets before. Usually people decide if they're going "traditional" or "modern," then choose the songs. You can get really lovely arrangements of popular songs for strings so they don't sound too cheesy. It sounds like you want to go a little more "modern," so go for it, all the way! Just give the musicians plenty of time to find the music they'll need, unless you're providing it.

I LOVE "When You Wish..." That's a great choice. Classic Disney, I think. It's romantic, and true!

You'll have to let us know how the plans go.

And the photobooth idea is so good. I have a friend who went crazy with her wedding - and lots of the favors and ideas were things that most of the guests wouldn't keep. For example: their wedding programs were given out in small silk bags (kind of like envelopes) with their names embroidered on them. Very nice, but what will the guests do with that? Something that can go home and be useful, like candles, candies, or the photos is SO much nicer.

Have fun!

LMO, I love the wedding talk too. I love your dress!!

Mine was 3 years ago. Here is a pic of me in my dress: http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm130/katcanes77/brideoutside.jpg

We got married in a church and were required to do sacred music only. I love sacred music anyhow, and my uncle is a church organist (and is totally awesome at it), so it was okay with me. I don't remember the processional music, but the recessional was from Handel's Water Music.
