Dropping in quick to say good-night and hoping everyone sees a number they like on the scales tomorrow. I will probably be on early to post, but if I am running late it will have to wait.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs (or an attack of the munchies) bite!......P

Sorry to hear about your kitty :sad1:

I am so sorry. I know how upsetting it is to lose a pet.

I am thinking of your boys. A friend of ours had a cat that died around age 2, and when they took it to the vet to find out why, the heart had not grown correctly and had just given out. Give your boys a hug from me. I was never a pet person, then our DD's therapist recommended a cat for her, and we all love our kitty. I shudder to think of the day we lose her, so my heart goes out to your family.

 sorry to hear this.

So sorry. I know it's hard to tell your kids about a pet dying. Give them a hug from me.

I am so sorry

francesca - so sorry to hear about Sam. Give your boys a hug for me.

Fran~ I'm sorry about Sam. It's so hard to lose a pet, especially one so young.

Francesca, I am so sorry about Sam I am. I hope your boys are doing OK today.

Nothing like a little Disney talk to bring about a few smiles. We use that trick with our 3yo. Do you know how you are going to surprise them with the trip next year?

Thanks Everyone! We appreciate all of the virtual  .

I thought that maybe I would make a countdown calender for 30 days out and hang it in my computer/scrapbook room, and just wait to see how long it takes the boys to figure it out. I don't know. I also thought of surprising them during my youngest son's birthday party. His birthday is May 30th and next year we will be at Disney for this 6th birthday and of course would have his party a week to 2 weeks early. It would be really cool if he opened a birthday card saying "Surprise! You'll be spending your birthday with the Mouse." If you have any suggestions let me know. I always appreciate other's input.

my2boysrtwicethefun - for some reason this didn't show up in my quotes. I feel the nursing would be too hard for me because I have a very bad memorization thing. I went back to school for a med tech when I was about 20 (I'm 37 now) and I had a hard time with the A&P classes and memorizing everything for that class so I stopped after two years ago credits. I like the medical field though. Maybe just go to work for a doctor's office as a secretary which I also enjoyed too (had that job too) I was going to ask my midwife if they need any help in their office when they open up another location in the same town I live, this way I'll be near to the kids when they are at school. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

I also have a horrible time with memorization. :confused3 I did read somewhere that it takes information being repeated 27 times before you'll never forget it. I can't imagine reading med/surg books 27 times. I would be insane.

I saw it. It was really awesome. :thumbsup2 In fact, I was going to mention in my previous post that I would like to do a countdown like Dawn's, but I forgot to include that before hitting the submit button. :upsidedow I told my husband that when we pass a Home Depot that I would have to stop to get Mickey shaped paint "cards?". I don't need them yet but stocking up now won't hurt. ;)

Wow! You've done great on the weightloss! Now toss that 14 and go treat yourself to a 12!

Thanks!! Not quite ready to toss the 14s but close... most 12s seem a bit snug although I have a few in the closet that fit. If/when I get below a 12, I will definitely have to go shopping, though!

Hope everyone has skinny dreams!

Speaking of bed bugs.....the schools sent home flyers last week because there has recently been several infestations of bed bugs in the county. Yuck! :scared: It makes me itch just thinking about it. :scared1:

I was born in '71. Not to much older. Let me know how Mama Melrose works out for you!

My DD loves Italian food so I made the resevation for her....then I tell her this morning on the way to school and she's like "But I wanted Chinese food!" She asked where else we would be eating, and I said Narcoossees.
She said," Ok, I mean what kind of food do they have there?"

"Steak and Lobster"

"I HATE steak! I don't even want to eat it when were at home!"

"Fine, trade with your brother, you can eat the hot dog from the kids menu."

My son was in the backseat, and he let out a genuine, heartfelt, shriek of "Oh my Gosh!" Like he was about to die from the thought of getting to order the grown up meal of steak and lobster. Honestly, you just had to be there. My daughter and I could only laugh at him, she said he sounded just like a girl. He is such an easygoing kid.

My daughter? Well, Ms. Picky said she would rather have the hot dog anyway.:snooty:
:rotfl: I just love kids. My DD (who recently became an adult) swears she is a super taster. So she can't just eat any hot dog. It has to be the right kind of hot dog. So I feel your pain.

Hi.

Wooo hoooo

For those of you who have been around the Peeps board a while, this story will rival the Trixie locking me out of my car story. ;)

Great story. Love how Dory saved the day. Glad you are OK. glad the neighbor boy is OK. These are the days parents have to say, 'I'd kill him, but it's not worth doing time." Then be creative and make his life heck.

LONG week around here. DS has reflux and we have been trying to get it under control for a few weeks now without much luck. No fun for any of us. We also had a heck of a storm come through here last night that set off the storm/tornado sirens at 4 am, so we had to get everyone rounded up in the bathroom to wait it out. I am so tired and DH is still at work...so I have had my hands full all day with cranky kids...and I have been snacking. Hoping I didnt do too much damage:headache:
Sorry about the reflux and storms. Here's a pat on the back and a ,"There, there, you'll sleep one day."

We had Open House at school tonight. after talking with kids all day and parents all evening, my throat is shredded. I was too tired to make dinner, and my teaching partner offered me half of her Chinese chicken salad. I have no idea how many calories were in it, but I ate really well the rest of today, so let's hope the fiber cancels out the fat. I better drink some more water to wash away the salt.

Happy weigh-in all. Remember, it's only a number, but if you don't like it, it's a good chance to evaluate your habits.:magnify:

down 1

Going to dance competition in Memphis this weekend. We got invited to dance at Graceland as well.

Another good morning on the scales!!

-2.2

I have hit my "lose 30 before Disney" with a little bit to spare!!

Hope everyone is a BIG LOSER today!...........................P

Either my new 1,500 calorie-a-day diet has already kicked in, or my good eating last week is finally paying off. I'm -2 this week. :goodvibes

Hey Peeps!

I have to catch up! Put me down for losing a half a pound this week Which is pretty good considering last night we went to the Mets Game and I had a hotdog and piece of midnight pizza!....I don't know if it was the fact I was buzzed but that midnight pizza was soooooo good!!!!!

It went smashing!! I passed with flying colors!!!!!!!!

QUOTE]

Its Great! :cool1:

Im sorry to announce that this week I am a SAMER Ive been so good with my exercise, but made some terrible choices with my food - had a bit of stress this week and turned to my old friend chocolate :sad2: . Im now back on the peepalicious wagon and vow that next week will be MY week.

Catch up later!

ETA: Ahh, I almost cracked the multi-quote! Not quite!

Good morning everyone!

It's rainy and gloomy but I am DOWN 2 POUNDS so who cares? I'm still happy!

Can I ask the Calorie Counters a question? Most of what I cook for the family has too many calories per serving for me to stay at my recommended number. Obviously the greater problem is that I have to learn to cook new things...

Do you all eat mostly pre-prepared stuff, like South Beach and Lean Cuisine meals, or do you have another plan? I want to keep it simple for now, but once I lose the weight I want to be able to eat whatever the rest of the family does. Any suggestions?

Good luck with your numbers today!

I've been eating a lot of Lean Cuisine recently, and now I'm snacking on fruit a lot, instead of the chips I used to mostly eat, big calorie difference there, and the fruit is a lot more filling, for several hundred calories less of food too.

I just reread my post, and I think I've dated myself. Does anyone even remember the Life cereal commercial with Mikey? (He likes it! Hey Mikey!)

Was it even Life cereal? Dang, now the memories even going.
This commercial convinced my grandma that every kid you saw on TV was either in college or dead. She had read somewhere that Mikey was in college while they were still replaying the old commercials; so she just assumed that all commercials with kids were filmed 20 years earlier.

You know, I try really hard not to get frustrated with a lack of progress. But for the 2nd week in a row, I'm a samer. And I'm the same weight now that I was on March 14. My motto (What's a motto? Nothing, what's a motto with you!) has been "slow and steady wins the race"; but at this pace, I think the tortoise has lapped me twice already. And I'm starting to get those old "I'm fat and I'm always going to be fat" thoughts creeping into my head. Not cool. But I'm just going to have to pick myself up by the boot straps and keep on, keeping on. The tide will turn eventually.

Have a great day everyone!
