"jon and kate plus eight" is on TLC right now and they're taking their kids to disney world.....it looks like it'll be a good show!
I set my DVR for that last night..i can't wait to watch it!

This Friday on the Travel Channel is a new Samantha Brown show called Samantha Browns Disney Favorites
ditto for this one!!! :)
I'm sorry that I offended you, but it was something that was bothering me from work.
Soapbox alert:
i also joined in on the FS conversation a wee bit...and i read back all the posts and honestly, i didn't read anything that pointed fingers at people that USE public assistance the way it should be used..in a thread like this it is impossible to not sometimes touch on "hot topics" i think..and overall we def. stay away from them.
End soap box. ;)
Whew...That said..have a Great day everyone...and enjoy the view..oh wait, who am i whoopie goldberg today?

It's just that taxes and stuff are so high right now, and everyone who pays taxes have to pay for food stamps, so I get annoyed when people abuse the system.

.

My DH and I own our own business, and we pay ALOT in taxes. When people "abuse the system" that tells me that the system needs to be worked on. The best way to solve this, is to vote for effectual leaders. If you feel strongly enough, run for office and change the system.

We had a fuel cost of $26,911.51 for 2007. That is up from $17,867.41 in 2006. Same trucks, pretty much the same routes. Now that annoys me.

On a happy note....

We got free dining! :yay: YAY! I was on the phone at exactly 7:00 am, and we got 4 days at POR in September!!!
And the all the dining times that I wanted!

1.Kona Cafe 5:30 9/18
2.NARCOOSSEES! 5:30 9/19
3.Mama Melroses 3:30 9/20

I can't wait! Our annual passes have expired, but this year I think we're going to go with season passes instead. It's to hard to get away during summer months anyway. (Not to mention it's HOT) We have 1 day passes left over from last year, and with using those, our season passes will only be about $150.00!

How can you not love Disney?

Also, check out my new tickers! Someone posted over on the AKL thread on the resort board that they got a new ticker and I liked it a lot. So I went and grabbed a new one for my trip and a new one for my weight loss. They have all kinds of different ones. The weight loss tickers can count how many pounds you've lost and/or your waist size. So if you want that ticker, just click on my ticker below.

I like your new ticker :thumbsup2 AKL is on my list of favorite resorts.Maybe I will actually make it back there one day...

Well.... 7 days and counting until I leave for the World. It is certainly keeping me on target with the "weight loss journey". Plus, I joined a "Biggest Loser" contest in January at the school where I work and it ends this Friday. It appears that I am in the lead, but someone could come in with a big loss at the end and blow me away. If I do win, I will be using the cash prize to buy myself something special while in Disney (it won't be a lot, but I will have EARNED it!!)

Well... off to run my errands. ........................P

Congrats on your success with the "Biggest Loser" contest at work. I hope you are indeed, the Bigges Loser...:)

7 days...you are so lucky!!! The sunshine and warm weather alone would be enough for me. It has been raining and cold here since Sunday...

I thought I had more quotes.:confused3 Been gone for a while but trying to recommit myself.I lost three pounds last week so I am off to a good start.:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 3lbs is EXCELLENT!!

I was fighting a headache all day yesterday. Finally took 3 generic Tylenol at dinner...turns out it was Tylenol PM!!! I was falling asleep by 8:45 and was completely drugged by 9:15!!!! I did see most of Biggest Loser though! I definitely won't do that again!!! :sad2:

You're right...if we all could lose the way they do on Biggest Loser, it wouldn't take us very much time to lose. However, we don't have all day to exercise and do nothing else!!!:confused3 If only.............

Ohhh nooo! I bet you were a load of fun. I would have been drooling on myself  I bet your headache was gone though.

When I win the lotto I am going to spend all day exercising with a trainer and only eating what my nutritionist/cook makes for me and I am also going to grow wings and fly to the moon.

My starting weight as of 1/18/08 was 168. Last week (4/4) my weight was 151.8 and the previous Friday (3/28) was 152.4. I think that's what you need - if not, let me know! Seems like the pounds are coming off slowly, but I can tell a difference in my clothes.

Thanks so much and hope you're feeling better soon!

Slow is good. YOu are less likely to gain it all back. You are making great progress!

Thanks for the support! I am actually not nervous, I have decided that I am going to have fun with it! In fact, I am wearing black kacki pants, a red polo, mickey crocs, and my mickey jewlery that my husband got me. :lovestruc I think all will go swell and it will be good. I'll try to post the power point for you guys at some point.

The big moment is today at 9:30 AM EST so send me mickey vibes. :rotfl:

I am sure it is going great!! How could they not love this thesis defense?!? Your outfit and bouquet alone would win me over...:flower3: I can't wait to hear how it went. Sending you lots of this pixiedust:

I love David Achelauta, and although it wasn't his best performance, I am still in awe of a kid who can play the piano and sing so beautifully. And Jason Castro brought a tear to my eye. they played the "IZ" version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow on the boat when we scattered my Dad's ashes, so it has special memories for me. I thought he(Jason) did a great job too. He does remind me of John Travolta.
We are watching AI Gives Back right now on the DVR. I'm going online to give, because the AIDS stories just break my heart.

Got to see my new principal today. We used to work together several years ago, and she is very nice. I'm excited to have her as my new boss. They had cake at the meeting, but I had my trusty 100 cal. South Beach bar with me, so I ate that instead. I went over my calories by 50 points today (1600 instead of 1550) but it would have been much worse if I'd taken the cake. Oh, and the new principal is on WW, so maybe we'll have some healthy choices at meetings next year.

I love the IZ version and I get choked up every time I hear it. Not for any particular reason other than it is a beautiful song and he had such an amazing voice. I need to get more IZ CD's.

I am glad you get good vibes from your new principle. I love my boss and that makes such a difference on those days when all I want to do is stay home with my babies.

MY TMJ is all out of whack!!! I can't open my mouth bigger than a spoon. So today was just soup and sugar free jello. Plus, now I have a fever! Plus, I'm nearly clean and sober from diet Pepsi since Friday. I only drink enough to keep "the headache" away. I'm drinking Crystal Lite and water only (plus that one iced coffee...don't tell my Bishop :rolleyes1 ) Plus I have a doozy of a fever now. I just took 800 mg. of Motrin for the pain.

It was a fun visit. I wished Misty/Spongie could have been there. Her youngest fell back asleep so she couldn't. Later, Misty brought me over the Bells Bracelet she made for me from the Twilight series. It is AH-mazing!!!!

Wendy, I am sorry you are sick! That really snuck up on you. I hope you get lots of rest today.

So what is a "Bells Braclet"?

Feel Better!!!!

Wendy, I apologize for posting this in your otherwise wonderful thread. And I'm sorry but I will have to bow out going forward as I'm not interested in reading about this type of stuff.

To the other peeps, I'll miss you. You've been great to me and I appreciate it.

Pakey, if you are reading this, please don't go!! You are always so supportive of everyone. We need you here.

This Friday on the Travel Channel is a new Samantha Brown show called Samantha Browns Disney Favorites

My DVR is set and ready to go. I want her job! Really, is that not the best job ever!?!?

My DH and I own our own business, and we pay ALOT in taxes. When people "abuse the system" that tells me that the system needs to be worked on. The best way to solve this, is to vote for effectual leaders. If you feel strongly enough, run for office and change the system.

I agree with you and that is all I am going to say about that....:snooty: :)

:scared1: $26,911.51...that is insane!! I don't know how small businesses are keeping afloat. :sad2: That is a seriously hot topic in my house. Uggghh, there is so much I could say on this subject but in light of keeping peace on the thread I will keep my democratic mouth closed..:flower3:

Have a great day Peeps! Good Luck tomorrow!

I agree! I am getting so close to my Disney vacation I am starting to stress out about everything... I'm freaked out about all the airline cancellations I hope they get everything straightened out before its time for me to fly! I hate flying to begin with!

I am getting married in Sept and you would think the stress would be about my wedding (for now it isn't) its about my Disney trip. I think it's because I usually just go with my fiance and I. This time I am going with 8 girls and I am in charge of everything not that I mind I love it. If you ask me how many days till my wedding I could not tell you. If you ask me how many days till my bachelorette party at Disney I will tell you 34! ;)

On a positive note I weighed in at 132.5 this morning on my new scale! I was worried it would be off...I def think I can get into the upper 120's before I get my butt to Disney. In January I weighed in at 154 pounds...Thanks peeps for helping me shred those LBS!!!

That is SOOO awesome! :yay: Although, I would love to weigh in at 154 lbs... but I am 5'8" so that is pretty close to goal for me. I weighed in on Feb 5th at 192.2, and last Friday was 173.2. I am hoping to get into the 160s before my May 17-23 WDW trip.

I am feeling really good today, in spite of my wake-up call from my boss at 8AM. It is supposed to be close to 80 today, I am wearing a loose 14 Old Navy skirt, and for some reason my 7.5 hours of sleep last night seemed to be plenty. Where is that bouncing off the wall smilie when you need it?

UM,hope you are feeling better today..

I am going to take my girls for a walk-its beautiful outside.I am still getting over a nasty stomach virus so there won't be alot of eating today.I wonder what the virus will do to my loss this week.:confused3 On Tuesday I ate about three hundred calories and was sick all day,Wednesday I managed to eat about five hundred calories and was sick most of the day.I was also dehydrated those two days.I am going to try to eat a thousand calories today now that I am feeling better but I figure my body may be in starvation mode this week and not show a loss.I don't weigh except for on Fridays so it will be interesting to see tomorrow...

Everyone have a successful Peepish day!!!:grouphug:

I just reread my post, and I think I've dated myself. Does anyone even remember the Life cereal commercial with Mikey? (He likes it! Hey Mikey!)

Was it even Life cereal? Dang, now the memories even going.

Oh well, have a good night everyone!

i remember! i was born in 1976 and these commercials were still around when i was little.

I thought he(Jason) did a great job too. He does remind me of John Travolta.

i agree! and the john travolta thing.......OMG.......yes! i didn't even think about that until you said it.

They help me make it through the year till time to go back to our happy place.

for those of you who love anything disney on TV, check this out:

http://www.bartlett-sloan.net/tv/agenda.php3?modeagenda=soon

they update it once a week, i think.

Wasn't this a great show??? I just  that family! They are sooo cute and very real!

i really liked the show and the realness of it. it did bother me though that the mom FREAKED out over a little dribble of ice cream. i mean, it was ridiculous. kids are gonna spill stuff. and especially if you have 8 of them....i'd think she'd be used to spills by now! :confused3

When I win the lotto I am going to spend all day exercising with a trainer and only eating what my nutritionist/cook makes for me and I am also going to grow wings and fly to the moon.

You read my mind. Now I just need to buy some lotto tickets!

80+ degrees here today. Summer is coming!

i remember! i was born in 1976 and these commercials were still around when i was little.

I was born in '71. Not to much older. Let me know how Mama Melrose works out for you!

My DD loves Italian food so I made the resevation for her....then I tell her this morning on the way to school and she's like "But I wanted Chinese food!" She asked where else we would be eating, and I said Narcoossees.
She said," Ok, I mean what kind of food do they have there?"

"Steak and Lobster"

"I HATE steak! I don't even want to eat it when were at home!"

"Fine, trade with your brother, you can eat the hot dog from the kids menu."

My son was in the backseat, and he let out a genuine, heartfelt, shriek of "Oh my Gosh!" Like he was about to die from the thought of getting to order the grown up meal of steak and lobster. Honestly, you just had to be there. My daughter and I could only laugh at him, she said he sounded just like a girl. He is such an easygoing kid.

My daughter? Well, Ms. Picky said she would rather have the hot dog anyway.:snooty:

UM.... No Fair

you snitched my weight loss plan...

Sorry you are feeling poorly- but on the positive side- your numbers will look good on friday. ;) We should start a new diet. The "I'm so sick I cant eat diet"

That's great! You're eating at some of the same places as me, and I have free dining too. :goodvibes Well I have the discounted deluxe plan, but it's still cheap food. ;)

UM - I made your soup today for lunch. It's very good. :) I kept the recipe pretty much the same, but I didn't use mushrooms, and instead of Italian seasoning I used sage sausage, 1/2 tsp of oregano, and 1/4 tsp of rosemary. I think it would also make a dish vegetarian soup, if I didn't use sausage. I have a vegetarian friend, and it tasted like something she would like.

Hi.

Long story short.

I fell.

I got back up.

I am here to stay.
