Gotcha...that is understandable. I'll be sure to let you all know when I'm really ready to lose weight. Which will probably not be until May. Let me give you all a timeline of the next couple months for me. I have this horrible internship to finish up and my last day is April 11. 14 days. But who's counting? Then I am going on a 7 day cruise with my mom to celebrate finishing grad school. (if that you know what doesn't pass me, we're still doing the cruise but I'll be in a much bitter mood). Then I'm thinking of taking a job offer I got from my previous internship supervisor. Which means I would not start until the fall when the school year begins. Maybe some part time stuff in her office, but otherwise I'll be a lady of leisure for a couple months (assuming I actually do graduate). Then I found my annual pass! Which happens to expire on May 18. And I thought...maybe I should take a long weekend and go to disney. By myself! Just to relax, hit a couple rides, soak up the disney-atmosphere, and meet up with a couple friends that live in orlando while getting one more use out of my annual pass. What do you all think?
You should totally do it! I go solo all the time, and it's my favorite way to do Disney. Though it isn't very relaxing when I go since I do run around the theme parks all day, (great way to burn calories though,) I do enjoy the alone time, and being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want to.

Yah, what she said!

You still need to socialize with us ok? We'd miss you too much.

My mom tends to make me feel like I'm a kid too.

Mine too... and I am 32 and haven't lived at or near home since I was 17.

I love the pic UM! You are looking good!

One of these days I will get around to taking a full body pic. I try to take them in the mirror and they look like crap because the lighting in my house sucks, and I don't really have any other occasion to have someone take a picture of me.

Dizneydawn

You must have missed my earlier saga- the one when i won mother of the year.

My DD1 is 16- a young 16- wont be 17 till August. The MAN in question is a cook at the resturant that she works at, he is from Mexico, has been in the United States for about 5 years, I havent met him but I have seen him when we have gone to eat dinner at the resturant and he is a nice looking young man but my objection with the whole thing is that he is 22. And the thoughts of a MAN wanting to date my CHILD sent mama into a tailspin.

As mad as DD1 has been with me over the past few weeks, she still needed her "mommy" and called me at work sobbing hysterically, (she calls me mommy for real), I sent her dad in to rescue her since I was at work, and dad held her that night and she fell into my arms crying the next morning.

She had a hard time going to her job the day after the big cry. But she put on her big girl pants and kept her obligation with much loving from mama. We had a talk about the job whether to keep or not- alot of her high school friends work there, she likes the job and makes good money- So I dont know where we are going with that yet.

I've rambled on enough- gotta go to work now!- I'm late and my hair is still wet.

MAMA!!!!!

I didn't know you had a thread here! Can I join in? It's been a LONG time since I've been on the WISH boards, but want to come back. Can I mama, can I????

If it's ok, can someone please update me if you have challenges etc? I am so ready to get into a healthier frame of mind/body. Ya know, back in the day (oh... about 4 years ago) I challenged WISHers to do the WDW Half Marathon with me- and look what that's turned into! :woohoo:

Hello again Peeps...and Happy Belated Easter!

As you can see, I have been busy tormenting my children so I was not able to post here ;) I am about 50 pages behind since last I was here....so if somebody can give me the short version of what I have missed I would appreciate it! Happy Birthday to all those I am sure I missed, and :wizard: and  to all who may be in need of them!

Soooooo cute! :goodvibes

Ok, sounds like the consensus is to have our next mini-challenge be set for Cinco de Mayo. So far I've got:

Me - Lose 4.1 lbs to get under 165
HockeyKat - Lose 5 lbs (I promise I won't lose you half way through this time!!!)
Pakey - Lose 7 lbs
UtahMama - Lose 5 lbs

Who else is in?

Have a great night everyone!

I think I'd like to go for 5 lbs too! :)

P.S. My mom is home from work and giving me the silent treatment. Like I already don't feel bad enough for calling in "sick". I swear, the effect she has on me, you'd never know I'm 27 years old.

So sorry to hear about the internship issues. :guilty: But I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a mental health day if you need it. And my mom can still make me feel that way too, and I'm 34. There is just something about moms that way. Take that solo Disney trip! You deserve it!

Alright. 5 lbs. for me too. I need something to help me have some self-control for everything that comes up. My baby turns 18 today, and she graduates inMay, so 5 lbs. off would be good for the graduation party.

Then I found my annual pass! Which happens to expire on May 18. And I thought...maybe I should take a long weekend and go to disney. By myself! Sounds like a great idea. And my mom makes me nuts, and I'm 46. We had some drama Saturday night going into Easter. The police called me at 1 a.m. because she had been "abandoned" by her live-in caregiver and they needed me to come take care of her. I pulled on my robe and slippers and high-tailed it across town. When I walked in the front door, she laughed at me for being in my pajamas.:furious: It turns out her caregiver had run to the drugstore for Motrin because she had a toothache. I told her(the caregiver) to call me if this happens again. I bet she wet her pants when she pulled up to the house and their were 2 police cars out the front. I was just so relieved that the call wasn't a)about one of my kids, or b)something more serious about my mom.

It was hard to love her through her first heartache/breakup- (she has had 2 other boyfriends but both times she was the dumper and not the dump-ee)
It was especially hard since secretly inside I am happy. Is that mean?
I'd say that phone call was a godsend. Good mama for giving her lots of love. Not mean at all. And remember what I said. It's not illegal for a 22 y.o. to date a 16 y.o. He only has to worry about the law if he's expecting s*x. And if he is, good riddance.

MAMA!!!!!

Hmmm, I dont knowwww....

OF COURSE!

We weigh in on fridays. If you weigh on a different day (say for ww or something) then just check in on fridays.

Do whatever diet you want. We can help you choose something. Lots are on WW or calorie counting, or low carbing.

You're just in time for our Cinco de Mayo challenge. By the 5th of May how much would be a nice little goal? I'm shooting for 5 pounds again. I can adjust it if it it all comes off in one week

We are in a competition with DizneyDawn's wish thread. Thats a friendly competition with the 5 highest losers from each team (we are team peep) with the % of weight lost, not the pounds. The losing team is sending state magnets to the winners (so far it's us)

Now, if you want to do that, you need to PM DizneyDawn with your starting weight and address to receive your magnets if we win. WE don't post our weight but some do. On fridays we just post here how much we lost, nice and bold since I record on a spread sheet. It looks like this: -5 or if you didn't lose you can say: samer or if you gained you do + whatever number.

I try to have everyone post their progress on fridays but sometimes there's late people,,,which is fine.

We cheer any little progress. We freak out over BIG progress. And generally support one another.

There is no OFF TOPIC since everything in our lives tend to effect food and eating and our health, ya know?

Now and again, we lose people. Some return, some dont.

It's a BIG thread, so post often. SOMETIMES your post may get lost in the shuffle. Don't take it personally!!!!! It happens occasionally. With so many of us, it just is hard sometimes. But post often and you'll totally be heard. I KNOW you won't have that problem :rolleyes1

Often times we post to vent or talk ourselves out of overeating or snacking when we're just bored. You use this thread any way you need to.

JUST ASK if you need anything! Collectively, we are a wealth of information.

YOW! Sorry so many spelling errors. The Ni-Quil smoothie is kicking in! :sad2:

OK girlie.... I'm in!
My goal for Cinco De Mayo is ...............ummmmmmm............ohhhhhh.........let's make this a stretch...... Let's say 7 lbs. DO I get in BIG trouble if I don't hit that? Will I have some 'splainin' to do? IF SO...... I need to start thinking about my exccuses NOW!!!:rotfl:

Not sure as to which way I'll be doing it- I see a dietician in a couple of weeks, so up until, I'll just be cutting out sugar and white flour, rice AND I'm gonna start walking again. I enjoy it, and it's starting to warm up some here, so I'm going for it. Jim and I want to start doing 5-10K's this spring, so I gotta get going on this.

Dance2874- Can I just tell you how darling you little ones are?? How old is that baby? My daughter just had our first grandchild 8 weeks ago- your pics made this grandma missing her little one!

Thanks! He will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. I cant believe how fast time is flying by this time around. With my daughter I didnt notice it as much- until she turned 5 this past fall and I said where the heck did the last 5 yrs go?!

I agree with those of you commenting on drinking the diet sodas, etc. You need to really watch out for the Nutrasweet/aspartame. It not good for you and there are some studies that suggest it can contribute to weight gain. Probably has some metabolic effect or something. In addition to the diet sodas/Crystal Light type things, it is in lots of other things that you may not think about like snack bars. Pretty much anything marked "sugar free" or "light" is definitely suspect to contain aspartame.

From what I have read and heard, Splenda is not as bad for you and doesn't have the same effect on your body as aspartame, but I would certainly limit its intake as well.

I hope everyone has a good day and can avoid the leftover Easter goodies!.....................P

I found out awhile ago that aspartame turns into formaldahyde in your system when you digest it and that I am allergic to formaldahyde! :confused3 Could there be a corolation between all I've eaten/drank over the years and suddenly having an allergic reaction??? Could be. I cut out ALL aspartame and only use splenda in my coffee....1 tsp per day. Also only drink 4C flavoring in my water as it is made with splenda. No Crystal Ligt for me!

Just checking in everyone. I'm home sick with a horrible cold. I think I'm going to cough up a lung.

Hope you are feeling better. The colds going around this year have been horrendous! Drink LOTS of fluids and get rest!!!

Weight Watchers....again!

I've got my slider and my official notebook. If I get bored, which I will, I'll do the CORE. That's The Plan, anyway.

I've been doing WW as well. When I'm diligent, I lose...when I'm not, I don't. Think I'd learn something from that! :rotfl2: Definitely need exercise! :yay:

Hello again Peeps...and Happy Belated Easter!

Count me in!!! My goal will be 5 lbs as well. WE CAN DO THIS!!! :thumbsup2

We have LOTS of leftover candy from easter. DH threw out the rest of the cake and I sent a bunch of candy home with DD & SIL. I need to stick the rest in the freezer and send it back to school with DS. :hippie:

OK...I really need to get ready for work and pack my lunch and snacks! Have a great day!!! :goodvibes

I made most of my ADRs this morning. Since I have a twelve-night trip, I couldn't make all of them today, and I also couldn't book Raglan Road or Yak and Yeti yet, so there are a few meals I have to call back for. But, I got all the ADRs I was worried about, including CRT. :goodvibes

I've been on WW for one whole day so far. I was pretty "hungry" last night! For dinner (at around 6pm) I had a great bbq'd chicken breast and some veggies. By bedtime, I was famished. Now, I realize I was experiencing "head hunger". My body was not starving. But my stomach was growling and I caved an had a piece of toast with spray butter (I call it "S'Not Butter") and felt much better.

THAT is my one behavior I have no idea how to break. I've substituted. I've distracted.

I can save up points for my toast and just live with this behavior if it's not so wrong. :confused3

On South Beach, it was a little better, for some reason. I know protein physically keeps you fuller longer. But last night's CHICKEN should have been fine. Hmmm...

I'm pretty sure I was feeling deprived.

I haven't been shopping for food that would make better use of my points.

I want to ask any of you doing ww online, do you think it's worth it? There's a special of $5.00 per week. The recipes you don't have to be a member for. Do I NEED to record my food online when I can write it down for free? I feel like you guys are such great support that I'm not needing to pay. I'm 50-50 on it.

IF more of you were involved in their online chat forums I'd do it.

Wendy, I have done it both ways. I spent the money online and it was nice to have all the resources. However, I would forget to post my meals online. I was writing them down and that works for me. I think the best thing about paying for the online IS the resources....points for food, points for restaurants, exercise info. However, I am cheap and google points I need and find "free" sites with the info.

There, that's my 2 cents! :hippie:

I do WW online but as far as the forums I just use the Peep forum. I like having it online because I feel its more specific than writing things down (at least for me..anyway) plus I like seeing the weight loss progress chart ...

I think I'm going to jump into the Cinco de Mayo challenge. I need something to keep me motivated to continue to lose weight AFTER my trip to WDW. Last time I lost weight for the trip, but lost ALL motivation after I returned (even though I was many pounds away from my goal). I need something to keep me going after the trip this time. I will put myself in for 5 pounds. That will give me time to lose some, gain some in WDW, and then lose it again!!! :rotfl: ....................P

That's right....the Body Boarders....have risen from the ashes and are circling like the great Phoenix!!!:cool1: :worship: :rotfl: The Body Boarders have posted their first week victory with people who this week carried some of us who have not done the hottest....and that is what this is all about...

Both teams have been helping each other...being strong when others become weak...never giving up and never quitting on ourselves...we can postpone our success but we shall never quit that race...

We have less than a week for the final weigh in and there is Magnets on the line....so lets all drink lots of water...garbage disposal any leftover girl scouts...(er I mean cookies) and get off the sad sap train of self depression and sympathy and get moving on the sweet ride of better bodies!!!

I honestly see nothing wrong with your nightly toast snack if you have the points for it. I have a friend who studied dietetics who told me there is no real evidence out there that eating after a certain time is bad for your diet perse....now other places say it is bad, so who knows. To me it is simple math, calories in vs calories burned. It doesnt matter when you take them in or burn them off, you know? And fiber will fill you up too, remember? Get some high fiber bread for that snack and it can really help keep you full.

I choose to pay for WW online when I do it. (I even did their combo plan last time where you could do online and meetings for $40/month) I find I stick to it better when I am paying for it. Hit me where it hurts, the wallet! :rotfl: And when I feel myself slipping, going to an actual meeting can help. But I liked that I didnt HAVE to go every week.

I don't get the time thing either. My grandmother insists that eating after 7:00 PM is a bad idea, which I don't get at all.
