GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!
Learning to live with food, not without food.
The hardest part about our sensible approach to weight loss is convincing people that it works. When we tell people that we've lost three hundred pounds eating fabulous food, they simply can't believe it. For most of us, trying to lose weight has always been associated with feeling deeply deprived while eating horrid food. But we'd "been there, done that" with the deprivation and horrid food. A lifetime of "yo-yo" dieting is how we got to be so fat!
Most of us with weight problems no longer have any idea what it takes to support a healthy weight. We're always either dieting or planning to diet. And when we're planning to diet, we're EATING! How do you lose weight and keep it off? You have to stop dieting, stop planning to diet, and start learning to eat correctly. How do you begin?
Choose a reasonable goal weight. Calculate your daily caloric intake using the following formula:
Female: Goal weight in pounds X 12 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake
Male: Goal weight in pounds X 14 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake.
Start eating a well-balanced diet that contains this number of calories.
After a few days, take a good, hard look at how you're doing. If you're not happy with the amount of food that maintains your goal weight, you have two choices: you can either start exercising or you can decide to weigh more. If you lose weight by eating less food than you're willing to subsist on forever, you're wasting your time. As soon you start eating more calories, you'll start gaining weight.
If you lose weight by "practicing" to maintain the weight you wish to achieve, you'll know how to sustain it when you get there. And we're living proof that it's possible.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!
I loved this! It actually allows me a lot more calories than I have been going for, which makes me feel not so bad about my recent choices. That being said, I had slim-fast shake for breakfast. Which, actually, worked out great. It filled me up enough to get through the morning, got me some vitamins AND saved a bunch of calories. After reading this I am really glad I decided to use it for more of a quick breakfast than meal replacement- it makes me feel liek it would be easier to stick with wieght loss. Thanks!
Welp!

That is a lot of stress, but you made it through the worst.
There's lots of time to undo any damage. You can do it! Get a bunch of healthier options... NOT that a chocolate rice cake will help at all when there's cinnamon rolls, you are human after all. But maybe it'll help a little or a lot?
That is a good idea, to go to the gym. You'll feel so much better! (I was just talking to myself as well

)

to you!!! Be good to yourself today!
I think I will do much better when I make a little more money and am in school all day. I only teach until around 10 now and then I am home for the rest of the day because I am PT. With full time I can bring my lunch and control what I am eating almost all of the day. I am looking to get a good jumpstart on wieght loss this summer so that by back to school I already have a set routine, ya know? While, I know you are right about better options my most recent problem is that since I haven't been home, the good is not accessible but the bad is! Will power is what I need!
BTW -- does anyone have a suggestion for a decent Point and Shoot Digital camera <$200??
I LOOOOOOOOOVE my Sony. Its a little more than your price range but Sony makes GREAT digital cameras. Before this one I had a Fuji which was very durable but the pictures did not come out as nice as the Sony. Also, I would try reading up on epinions.com to see what other people thought once you find a model. Sometimes you will see a great looking and feeling camera at the store and then the software is horrible and such.
Hi Peeps! I hope everyone is having a skinny day! I have been doing pretty well at keeping within my points each day. I have to start doing some excercise though! That is something I am really slacking on. I have been working on my Disney scrapbook. I think it is coming out pretty good for my first attempt. I also have been working on....school stuff

! I know I have a lot of time before school starts in August. But I figure if I do a little at a time I won't be as stressed out trying to get it all done. If anyone eats Lean Cuisine meals, I love the Lean Cuisine meals with twice the veggies. They are so much more filling! I had the peanut chicken one for lunch and I liked it.
I have def had plenty of planning for September as well! Any tips for a first time full time teacher? Disney Scrapbooking is the best! Scrapbooking is one of my favorite hobbies!
Hi Peeps!
Just stopping by to let you know I won't be around all weekend, as I leave 4:30am tomorrow morning on a train to Albany for my nieces wedding! So, I am recording my WI now....
1 lb lost!!!!! I am on a steady downhill progression, but it is slow. I guess it's true..."Slow & steady wins the race." I'll win this weight loss race before I know it!!! (Said with all the confidence I can muster!!!

)
Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy your weekend!
Congrats on the weight loss and have fun at the wedding!!
Well hello Peeps! I am embarresed to admit that I haven't been on here since I thin March...I hope you haven't forgotten me!!! I see so many new names that I am completely lost!
Anyways, Dismom emailed me and told me to hop on here because someone is planning their first trip to NY...I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS!!!
My DBF and I went for the first time a couple of months ago and absolutely fell in love with the city!

We would move there if a 700 sf apartment didn't cost $2600!!!
Anyways - I just wanted to jump in and say hello
I promise I will try to do better...I think about you guys alot...I have my bracelet on my key chain and it keeps you all in my thoughts!!!
Bad news is I haven't lost any more weight...Good news is I haven't gained any either. I really have to get my rear motivated again!
NY is the best! You just made me feel great pride for being a NYer! I guess that is how everyone feels about their state though! I am going to see Beauty and the Beast tomorrow and I am sooooo excited! I will be sure to post up all about it!!!
So, I added red to the headpieces...it looks better I think
I loved it yesterday and I love it more today! Great job!
Well, peeps, today was good and bad. Did alright in the eating department and in the exercising (took the pool cover off and cleaned it out and all that yucky stuff). BUT had a horrible day at work. Found out that someone fudged up and I hadn't gotten any deductions taken all year for the Teacher's Retirement System in New York! Found out that I owe 3% of my year's salary to the district!

And they are taking it over the next 2 paychecks! So I am losing like $700 out of my summer balloon checks! I was so sad and mad and everything! I was like half being angry and half crying on the phone. The women in accounting helped a little but there is no way around the fact that someone fudged up and no one noticed. And since I am only part time my wee little balloon check that is supposed to last me all summer... is much more wee and little. I feel better about it now, but I sort of had a mental breakdown earlier!
Oh and my kids are doing pretty darn good so far in my grading so I did all that nervous eating for nothing!
In any case- thank god tomorrow is friday! Phew! Let's get this week over with and go out with a bang! Beauty and the Beast on Broadway here I come!!
