DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

Well Peeps, I have decided to give up on catching up and jump back in here. If anything important happened over the weekend, someone let me know, k? :) I saw something about punkin making a WDW trip possibly, and I've read this page, but that's about it! I still probably won't have much time until Thursday night, and I need to use that to work on the wedding pics I took Saturday, but I am hoping to at least stay caught up this week. And maybe I will get a couple of workouts in this week somehow, besides tonight's agility class. I hope everyone is having a skinny day! :)

I'm with you Lynda! I give up trying to catch up on everything I missed since Thurs when I was last here. It is WAAAY too much! ;) So, I'll look forward to a recap of the important stuff from someone as well. Thanks!

I caught the train at 4:30am Fri morning and ran with my sis from the time I got to her house, until her DH dropped me off at the hotel at 9pm! The wedding was beautiful Sat and was held at the state park near them. Danced like a fool at the reception and really didn't eat that much. Nothing like dancing with a very drunk Marine who you are old enough to be his mother! (OK, dirty dancing with this marine, with a pitcher of beer in your hand...yeah, blackmail pics are out there! :rotfl2: ) Good thing I have a very undersatnding husband!

Sun we drove to Conn to meet with DD's future in-laws and see the church where DD is getting married. There is a beautiful outdoor sanctuary that will be the site and it will be perfect. I feel better now that I have seen everything.

OK, off to work. BBL

I'm here!

It's MEET WINKERS day!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

We're going to Olive Garden, me, Winkers and Spongie.

I managed to get the BEST babysitter for a few hours!

NO KIDS!!!!!

As for home daycare, I also don't have a registration fee or mandatory deposit. But, I don't hold spots without payment because I only have 4 spots and need the money from each. So far, I haven't had any problems.

I don't charge for MY vacations or if I'm sick. But if they are sick, they still pay. They get one free week's vacation, if on consecutive days (not one day here, one day there). I only have ONE mom who pays but she pays late. Which she's pregnant and leaving anyway, so I dont really gripe.

I take all national holidays off. If there's a no-mail holiday, I'm off. So far that hasn't been a problem either.

It's really good money. Well, better than if I had to pay for daycare for 3 kids.
I charge $400 per month per child. So if I need more income I can get more kids. But 4 is my happy limit!

Ditto on the vacation stuff. I can't see how it's ecomonical for someone to pay me while I am on vacation, while having to pay someone else at the same time to watch their kids. I also don't charge when I am sick, which is very rare. I take 6 paid holidays. And my ususal two weeks vacation throughout the year is unpaid. I just can't justify anything else.

While I am on Maternity leave, I found someone willing to help out those who can't find 5-6 weeks of backup care. She's in the area and does in home day care. I find when I'm this accomodating, my parents really like my business ways and come back. Not to mention, I'm a great caregiver!:goodvibes

Plus being pregnant I've only taken a long weekend off this year. I don't want to take off more time this year than already necessary.

Everyone does what's best for them. This works for me and my daycare families.

Thanks guys! I am on the same page with the vacation and stuff too. As a nanny I got paid vacations and holidays, but that was very different. As far as the deposit, I am willing to 'hold' her spot because I would like to take the next few weeks to get ready for my surgery anyways. And afterwards I will be recovering so it isnt like I will be out actively recruiting anyone. However, I dont want to not have something in place (written agreement and deposit)so she wont be as likely to back out last minute and leave me with no options. I get calls/emails almost daily asking my availabilty, so it is a hard decision. Childcare is very booming here, and hard to get somebody good. I think I am also more willing to hold it for her beacause it seemed like a good fit for both of us. That is very hard to find!

Hope the mini-PEEP meet went well! :woohoo: I am jealous, wish a PEEP lived close enough to me to meet up. I could use a real-life diet friend.

ARIES- did you start Alli yet? I am hoping for an update!

I started yesterday..
Its a complex process

you sign online and register your product and fill out your personal goals and plan...

then you get meal plans and shopping list for each week and goal charts and all kinds of stuff. Its very thorough.

I dont get to start the pill till thrusday because they make you get in a routine first, so far everything has been good with it.

WO, that does sound pretty thorough! Cant wait to hear more as you go along. I may have to try it myself regardless though.

Spongie and I just had the BEST visit with Winkers!

Just love her!!!!!

We went to the Olive Garden and attempted to make good choices :rotfl2:

Her pictures turned out so she can postem. Mine are too dark as my DH's camera is too difficult to take pictures. I miss point and shoot!

Anyway, we were there like 2 or 3 hours. :rolleyes1

I need more girls times out. BUT, apparently, my ds7 was the WORST kid out of all of them. He woke up the girls because he was bored  And he talked back a lot and was generally VERY naughty!!!!!!!

His bum is sore now.

Hi Peeps!:goodvibes I hope everyone is keeping cool! I just did my Walk Away the Pounds DVD. I did the start up mile. There are five work outs on it. I think I might do the start up one a couple more times before I feel ready to move up. I really like it though (well as much as I can like an excercise DVD;) ).

Utah Mama-I can't wait to hear about your Peep Meet! Olive Garden= Yum!

Sandy-I have missed you!

Punkin-You are an awesome friend to take your BF to Disney. How cool!:goodvibes

Eventer-I always get nervous after I get a hair cut that maybe it isn't right. I'm sure you look great! It takes me a few days to get use to it especially if I get it highlighted.

Dance-How are your sister's wedding plans going? Are you making the cake?

Lynda-The TR pics are wonderful!

Aries-My mom was thinking of trying Alli. I will be interested to hear about your experience with it.

HockeyKat-Congratulations on your compliment! I bet that felt good!:cheer2:

Hello to anyone I missed!:) :)

I havent been to Olive Garden in ages!! I havent had a girls day in longer than that!! How exciting!!

so Belle when are you headin my way???

Lynda - have you come and gone from IKEA yet? What happened with the AKV??

Alli sounds so interesting, but I have to tell you, I was saving money, and I've had loose stools ever since!! :rotfl: Just the thought of that orange problem gives me the shivers!! :scared1:

I have a Sept meet question I'm posting in the Dismeet thread....

Checking in real quick, just in case anyone remembers me....

Life is still crazy. I have 2 more weeks in my current class and then a month off!! Yeah!! :woohoo:

DH wrecked my new car yesterday. :guilty: For years I drove a car with dents. This year I got a new dent-free car. It was raining yesterday and DH and DD ran off the rode and hit a sign. I have a dent again and it knocked the car out of alignment. But everyone is okay - so I am thankful.

Still playing baseball - all the time. This weekend may be the end of the road though.

I have missed everyone. I have had no gain and no loss - kind of stuck...

We have not been to IKEA yet Sandy. We don't know yet when the AKV model opens. When we were in WDW, DH talked to someone at the preview center at SSR who said there were guides going up there the following week to train. But I don't know what the status is right now. I definitely want to plan a mini-Peep meet when it opens! :)

hey stranger! that is sad about your new car but at least everyone is okay ...

S.Poppins-I am glad everyone is alright. So sorry about your car! I hope everything can be fixed and be dent free again.:thumbsup2

Sandy-We will have to work on that Peep Meet.:) Maybe when the AKV model opens?

:wave2: Stacey. Sorry about the new car. I rear-ended someone in the first new car either DH or I ever had. Boy, did I cry, but DH laughed it off. I'm glad nobody was hurt in your DH's accident.

Random vent here.

I'm soooo grumpy today. And I have been for a couple days. I'm trying to be a "grown up" about it and realize that it's life but I know for a fact that most people are not miserable every single day. I'm just hating school right now. My supervisors just become more and more ridiculous every day. I absolutely cannot wait to get the heck out of there and finish the program. But I will settle for knowing that next semester I will be working out in the real world nowhere near that dreaded clinic. I was thinking about things today and I realized that I'm more concerned with what grade I'm getting and what my supervisor thinks of me than what I'm planning for my therapy sessions. I don't plan things because I think it will help them, I do it because I feel like my supervisor wants me to do it. And all this paperwork is a joke. Every single supervisor has their own special way of writing things like soap notes, etc. So that means that I have to do mine 3 different ways, and technically all are perfectly acceptable. Then I come home to take an online midterm - which I'm not so sure how I did actually. And I go out in the other room to get something eat once I finished and my mom is in a mood as well apparently because she isn't talking.

And tomorrow I get to wake up and do it all over again at camp. On Monday I came in and I was with one camper the entire time I was there, the one with the behavior issues and who requires the most assistance. With no guidance as to what activity I should do. My supervisor and another "teacher" were huddled over another girl at the computer. Mind you this is a girl who likes to look up words in the dictionary for fun. She does not need 2 people hovering over her while I'm pulling a 9 yr old off the bookshelf. :confused3 It's just ridiculous. Then yesterday I get my alumni magazine where I can see all the girls from my graduating class that are getting married and having babies. Which is a really sore subject for me because I do feel like a loser for not being closer to settling down and in a relationship. Although I think I'd go bonkers if I had a child right now. But that's not the point.

I am so unhappy with everything right now. I just want to stop everything and start over. I would give anything to have a day where I could do whatever I wanted to do without knowing that I really should be doing something for school. I'm at the clinic everyday and at night, I'm either working on lesson plans or doing other assignments. Which usually I finish around 10pm but I'm too wound up so I end up staying up til 12 trying to relax but thinking about all the other things I still have to do. And the weekends are the same. I'm running to the store to pick things up for sessions, writing lesson plans, reading research articles. It never stops.

Okay I'm done. I really feel like my last few posts on this thread have been really depressing and grumpy and I'm sorry for that. I just hate feeling this miserable and I need somewhere to get it out.

I have those DVDs and I love them too...when I remember to do them! The only thing I hate is the talking and music. So I usually mute it and put my music on. I can still tell when to speed up and everything anyways.

LONG Wedding update in my next post...I am not making the cake but I offered! Her reception place includes it as part of her meal package.( And we have to drive over 1200 miles to get there so I would have to make it when we got there, in my grandmas oven with ehr hovering the whole time. Not exactly ideal anyways!)
