Haven't been on in about a week :scared1: but wanted to check in.I didn't really read back much but I did see that Mel's Dd gets to go on her trip. That is awesome!!!

Rachel(DD3) is having her surgery in the morning. She is having her tonsils and adnoids out.Her sleep apnea has gotten really bad lately so we decided to go ahead and do it.For some reason I am really nervous about this, which seems strange since DS11 has had one surgery and DS9 has had seven.

A while back I posted that I thought that my Disney trip might need to be canceled because of my DH's transmission.Well my brother was able to do it for us....DRUMROLL PLEASE....for $100!!!!:cheer2: This would have cost us $2500 anywhere else but his boss gave him most of the parts as a bonus and he didn't charge us any labor. We will be giving him some $$ anyway but he still saved us.I am still tentative with my Disney plans because I am having to take time off without pay to take care of Ray but it looks good for us to be able to go.Sorry this ended up so long.
YEAH! I hope you guys get to still go!! And I will be sending some :wizard: for your DD....I cant believe she doesnt like ice cream!

seriously...it's no biggie! i don't mind exchanging for a *smaller* size......trust me! and i've got TONS of bathing suits to tide me over if i have to exchange it. they don't fit all that well because of the weight i've lost, but i can deal. ;)
I know, I was just kidding ;) I am a shopping fiend though, so I would have totally been paging all over the place if it was ME who needed the info :rotfl: If you ever need a site to order something, chances are I have done it or know where to do it. I am the queen of internet ordering.

I don't pre-weigh on Thursday, but I do weigh all week. I am "honest" and post the friday morning weight even if it's one minute after midnight. Even when on wednesday it's 3 pounds less than friday. Even if it's up or ugly.

BUT, one time in the very very beginning, I had gained like 3/4 of a pound and posted that I stayed the same. LIER! I justified it somehow at the time. There, my big fat FARCE is out there! Whew, I feel better. :hippie:

I just ate ice cream (1/2 C. cookies and cream, yucky) and last night I had chicken fried steak at a local family diner. It was smothered in that white gravy too. So, I totally need to do AWESOME till weigh day. Water water water. "Exer*choke*cise"......

edited to say: In the above paragraph, I originally wrote, "I was smothered in that white gravy..." HA!!!!!!
MMMM...GRAVY! Now, I want gravy! Gee...thanks! ;)

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Thanks again for all your prayers, happy thoughts, and well wishes. As we were driving to the airport DD said "Did you tell your peeps?" Well of course!

Here's the rest of the story if you're still interested in this saga....

I left work early yesterday, we had bags packed, making a couple of last minute calls, already had another girl from DD's tour group who was in the same boat with no passport and we were literally about to walk out the door to go to Chicago when the phone rang to say the passport was being delivered.

When it got here, it was delivered by a courier service but it was a FedEx package with the very same tracking number we had been searching for days! The passport bureau told us it shipped out Tues at 5:30 p.m. FedEx told us that the package was NOT-double-NOT in their possession.

The FedEx folks were very kind and helpful but told us that the passport bureau has been known to lie about shipping (the check's in the mail) to shut people up. FedEx said if they did get the package that they would do whatever it took to get it to us in time. We could slap a $175 same day delivery on it and we'd have it in no time.

Well they never had the package in their tracking system....never. And it arrives just 20 minutes after the original flight departed Cincinnati airport. I got back on the phone with the travel agent and asked if there was a direct flight and indeed there was. (It costs us $$ but it was gonna cost us $$ to change the flight anyway since she missed the first one.) She had one hour to get her stuff together and we drove to Cincinnati.

We were so excited but so, so, so sad to have to send the other little girl who was going with us to Chicago back home. I'm not sure what will happen with her or if she will get to go on this trip. :sad2:

DD was nervous to fly alone since she is a little shy and hesitant to ask people where she should be and what she is supposed to do. She called me a couple of times to ask questions while she was still at the gate. The tour guide was supposed to meet her at the gate....which she was also a little unsure about.

Just got the call that they are all safely in Paris. The main group's flight was delayed in D.C. and so it sounds like they all arrived at the same time. :goodvibes

CREDIT.....God gets it all! This was truly a miracle.

MORAL....All US citizens now need a passport even to fly to Canada, Mexico or the Bahamas!!! This is what has created the backlog. If you think you MIGHT need a passport, apply at least 16 weeks early no matter WHAT they tell you at the post office and by all means slap the extra $60 expedite fee on that sucker UP FRONT! Don't even think about it...just do it.

Now back to catch up.........
I am so glad this worked out for her. I just dont understand why they had to lie. I mean, if you knew it had not shipped out, you could have possibly made other arrangements to get it or get it re-issued. Just be honest! By saying it was sent already it really limited your options to get it resolved.

No--anyone can help. There are usually a wide range of things that can be done. Our church has built 2 habitat homes and I have helped to work on another 2 when I was younger. They need all abled bodies and they will find something for you to do. Have a great trip.

I am calling a repair man this morning. THe more I think about this the worse I feel----Our house could have burned up :scared1: When I looked at it before I left the water still had not drained out of the bottom so I am guessing that is why there were still soap bubbles in the bottom. I am just sacred that there is something faulty in there since it never turned off! The builders are at my home today---yea!! They are supposed to pour the new slab at 11--Joshua loves to see all the men there and all the big trucks!!!
OK, what brand is it? My mom (who has a relatively new house) has one that was recalled, for possibilty of catching fire. :scared1: Check the manufacturer website and see, I cant remember what brand her is but it was on their website. I am a HUGE help, huh?!

Everyone looking at Disney bathing suits... if you are buying from disneyshopping and you aren't DVC, PM me for the discount code (saves 10%). Also, there are a bunch that are on disneyshopping, on ebay for $5-12 (including shipping). Just go to the swimwear section and search for Disney.

Have a skinny day everyone!!
SURE, now you tell me ;) I may have to PM you though, my sister wants one now! I will check ebay though, I didnt think of that!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:  When I told Dh the story last night, he commented that we should all go get passports, just in case!

I am trying to decide if I should go do cardio today. Does anyone know if it hurts you to exercise every day? I am doing weights Tues/Fri and cardio MWThur (M/Th 45 min on ellptical, W hockey). I doubt it will hurt me or my weight loss, but then again I don't know very much about these things. I would try a personal trainer but the extra $$...

i just called my best friend who's a fitness trainer to ask her this. i left her a voice mail and she's usually pretty quick to call me back. i'll get back to ya ASAP. :)

Melinda--- sounds like everything worked out perfectly. Hopefully our situation will have a happy ending as well.

U Mama smothered in gravy, huh? Goofy must REALLY like gravy !! AND I'LL exercise if YOU exercise , deal? :thumbsup2

Piget I hope you get your dishwasher fixed. I hate it when stuff like that happens. It always seems like mine happen when Brandon is deployed, so I'm crossing my fingers that I make it through the month he'll be gone with no household problems.

HockeyKat You sound like a very busy person !!! Can you share some of that energy you must have? I seem to have left mine somewhere this morning !!

dwheatl Thanks for the welcome back ;)

Stacey Sounds like you guys had fun !!! Vicksburg is so pretty, we always like stopping there when we use I-20 to get anywhere. My parents like to visit the BOATS !!! I always love baseball/softball season, Caylins Spring season is already over and she decided not to play Summer ball so we've been going to her would have been teams games, LOL.

Have a good one Peeps !! I'm off to see where I left the rest of the energy I had yesterday, or at least another cup of coffee !!!

OK, what brand is it? My mom (who has a relatively new house) has one that was recalled, for possibilty of catching fire. :scared1: Check the manufacturer website and see, I cant remember what brand her is but it was on their website. I am a HUGE help, huh?!

I think that it was Maytag. I have a relatively new house too and spent mucho time looking for the stupid code on the machine just to find out that mine was fine. Here I was hoping for a new dishwasher...

Good luck -- hope it's a quick and painless fix!

MELINDA!!!! I am soooo excited for you daughter!!! And to think they all got there around the same time is absolutely amazing!!!! :cool1: God is SO Good!!!:thumbsup2

UM...We'll let the first part slide. No Biggie.
As for being smothered in gravy, I would much prefer whipped cream or chocolate! :rotfl2:

HockeyKat You sound like a very busy person !!! Can you share some of that energy you must have? I seem to have left mine somewhere this morning !!

I feel like a lazy person most of the time! I think that a few things help with energy and time...
-I don't have kids, so I don't have to worry about taking care of anyone but me and DH.
-I drink a TON of water and I think that has really been helping. I hate it but I get my bottle w/ the oz markers on it and gag it down.
-I fit everything into my lunch hour so the incentive of getting the heck away from here helps spur me to the gym. Hockey is after work but it is pre-paid so I feel like I am getting ripped off if I don't go.
-I am sure to get 8 hours of sleep. Massive amts of exercise combined with lack of drinking seem to be helping quantity and quality of sleep.
-And finally, I have been taking Mega-T Green Tea w/ hoodia twice a day, once in the morning, once mid-afternoon w/ my vitamin. I really notice a jump from it that helps w/ workouts. Plus it is cheap (another prereq).

I would try a personal trainer but the extra $$...

okay.....got the low down for ya. she says that you can do as much cardio as you want and it won't hurt you as long as you're eating enough food. if you start to feel light-headed, you need to stop and eat something. the only thing you have to be careful about is the weights. she says if you don't give your muscles enough time to rest and rebuild, then, one, you're not doing any good because the muscle rebuilding itself is what makes the muscle harder and more defined and, two, you could possibly suffer from catabolism (sp?) which she said means your muscles are shutting down (or something like that). i told her you were doing weights on tuesdays and fridays and she said that should be fine. hope that helps! it's very helpful to have her as a friend because i get free fitness advice and pretty much free training when we work out together! :woohoo:

Well rachel is home and doing well.:goodvibes She had a hard time when she woke from surgery and ended up ripping her iv out and then screaming for 1 1/2 hrs and had to have a breathing treatment. Now she is laying down for a nap.

Pigget, thanks for telling me about your DD.Rachel has had all the same symptoms and I hope this helps her daytime behavior/attention span. The Dr.has mentioned several times that she has mmore symptoms of ADHD than my DS9 who has been diagnosed with it.

thanks for all the prayers everyone! I am going to go try to get some sleep...

Not much time to catch up. My main computer is still in the "hospital". I hope it gets well soon. I'm on a borrowed pc now.

Anyway- update on niece situation- thank goodness mom came to her senses. Mom is paying for DN to go with us. I got her on the flight to orlando with the rest of us but she will have to fly home on another carrier by herself- I'm a little nervous bout this but I know the airline will take care of her plus she is 14 and if we get her at the right gate and she doesnt have to check any luggage she should be ok- right? Make me feel better ok-

On the plus side- our flight home has a 1.5 hour layover- hers is direct and she will get home about 2 hours before we will-

I was able to add her to all of our adr's- except Hoop and Coral Reef but I'm going to keep calling back. It was a MIRACLE- but I was able to add her to our Cindarella's Royal Table- and that will be special enough if I cant arrange the other 2.

Thanks for all the hugs in my time of crisis-

Rachel(DD3) is having her surgery in the morning. She is having her tonsils and adnoids out.
A while back I posted that I thought that my Disney trip might need to be canceled because of my DH's transmission.Well my brother was able to do it for us....DRUMROLL PLEASE....for $100!!!!:cheer2: .
I hope all goes well for your daughter. And woohooty about the car! :cool1:

That would be my dh's dream come true! Chicken fried steak with gravy is his favorite meal!;)

Thanks again for all your prayers, happy thoughts, and well wishes. As we were driving to the airport DD said "Did you tell your peeps?" Well of course!

.........

I'm so happy everything turned out well for you !

OT--youngest DS likes to turn on dishwasher--.

Oh no! I had a child who loved to do things like this! When she was 4 she blew up our microwave heating up a crayon!:scared1:

In about 2 hours I have a dentist appointment. I have a confession I haven't been for almost 7 years!:scared1: I never had any problems with my teeth untill I started having kids and then each pregnancy was followed by a rootcanal. 2 of which were done my the worlds worst dentist and has left me petrified! I ended up with some tooth problems on my trip and have postponed going for a month but I'm in so much pain now I can't wait. A friend recommended a dentist to me but I'm seriously so scared I could faint. And to add to the nervousness of the pain I'm worried about how much it's going to cost. I'm pretty sure I need another root canal..............I want to just die right now. And then I feel stupid because I"m a grown woman. Anywho, I'm nervous. I'm leaving to go see my new niece next week so it's good I'm getting this taken care of now........that's my attempt at positive thinking. Ok, I'll stop rambling now. Anyone have some valum they can pm me?:rotfl2:

Thanks so much punkin!! I don't feel lightheaded during or after (just tired), and I can do 3 miles on the elliptical now in a little less than 45 min. I knew the weights had to be spaced out but I wasn't sure about the cardio.

Great new about your DN Sparkie!

Here is my food for today so far:
B: 3/4 cup cinnamon mini-swirlz (100) and coffee (20)
L: Salad (100), lean cuisine steak portabello and broccoli (180), yogurt (70)
S: Strawberries (60) and apple (60)
D: ??

Edited to add... winkers, I HATE the dentist so I completely understand your dilemna. I once went 5 yrs between visits and haven't been now in almost 2. I know I have a cracked back tooth and I am afraid to go get it checked out (pain and $$). Sending a big hug your way...

Hello Peeps !

I'm back !

I have been lurking around and keeping up with you all.

Melinda
: I was reading your passport saga and was soooo relieved that your DD finally got hers:wizard: . I hope she has a fantastic time. I LOVE Europe. Everything just feels so "historic". You get a wonderful sense that the world is so much greater then ones limited experiece.
Also...you are so sweet to notice that I have been MIA (I get a warm happy feeling knowing that I have been missed :cloud9: ) I promise that I will stop being a "lurker" and post more often, even if it is just to say "HI".

Linda and Misty
...I LOVE both of your new pictures in you signatures. You are both major cuties.

Dismom
: Congrats on the new transmission...I am so happy for you that your trip won't be posponed.

Punkin: I am also bigger on the bottom then the top. I have a really hard time finding things that fit. Since I lost weight my chest has shrunk faster then my hips !:confused3 I am totally a "pear" shape.

Kat : :goodvibes Whoohooty on the Habitat for Humanity project. What a wonderful way to spend your weekend.

Pigget74: Call the repair man. All this talk of fire makes me jumpy ! The house of one of our preschool families caught fire 2 weeks ago. (They grabbed their 3 kids and dashed out in their PJ's ! At 11:00 PM). They lost everything !

I have been maintaining my 14 pound loss pretty well, but I went to Toronto last week for a "girls weekend" and had a bit of a food fest. My girlfriends and I went to a fancy shmancy afternoon tea at the Four Seasons. It was amazing. I have decided that afternoon tea is my favorite "girlfriend" outing.

This is Grand Prix weekend in Montreal. We are going downtown to see the racecars tonight. My DS5 is so excited. This is the first big tourist event of the summer season. The entire city becomes one big party.
I will try and stay away from all the "nibbles".popcorn::

Keep drinking your water !

Kim

that's me too! the first place i lose weight is my stomach, my chest and my face. it's eventually starting to work it's way down to my butt and legs, thank goodness! my arms have never been a problem.....i don't have the bat wing syndrome yet! i keep a little comic on my fridge to remind me that the pear shape is just how i am and i can't change it. it's a very pear-shaped girl and her pear-shaped mom from behind and the mother is looking at the daughter and saying, "honey, you can't fight mother nature....our family tree yielded pears." soooooo true!

winkers - i feel ya on the dentist. i have to confess i don't go every 6 months like i should. when i was 9 i had to get a cyst cut out of my mouth and ever since i've been PETRIFIED of the dentist. i'll spare you the gory details! just think.....it'll all be over in a couple of hours and you'll feel so much better!

Well Peeps, my endoscopy is scheduled. I am NOT excited about it. (I may have mentioned that before.) It is June 29th at 9:00 in the morning, but I have to be there at 8:00. I can't eat that morning, and it will take me about half a day to recover, the doctor says. I also have to stop taking my Prilosec on the 19th. That'll be a fun week and a half! I am just anxious to get it over with.

Melinda--- sounds like everything worked out perfectly. Hopefully our situation will have a happy ending as well.

Good luck with everything---glad that you guys are home--just keep pushing liquids.

Repairman came out to the tune of $250----the timer is catching so it has to be replaced. We only paid 500 for thing to begin wiht I think. If not that it wasn't much more.

Oh I am totally sympathizing with you right now. Remember awhile back I posted about a lot of tooth/mouth pain and my fear of the dentist. It turns out one of my impacted wisdom teeth was trying to break through so I had them out. But the last couple of weeks I've been having some pain on and off again - actually similar to how I felt before I had my wisdom teeth out but they aren't there anymore :confused3 Anyway, I'm just curious. Could you explain what your pain feels like? Mine is sort of like a small throb, only on one side of my mouth varying from the top to the bottom. And sometimes it feels like I have something in between my tooth or something on my cheek is rubbing against my gum. It's weird. Sometimes it doesn't even hurt - it just feels...weird.

Anyway, I hope you find a gentle dentist and that everything gets taken care of for you.

Hey Brandi! Good to see you again! Remind me of where you live again? Vicksburg is beautiful!

You're too sweet !!! Right now we are stationed in Stillwater, Oklahoma at OKState. My parents are from Louisiana and live there and my brother lives in Biloxi. Anytime we head north from my parents to take I-20 East I always make sure we can go through Vicksburg, even if it's just to stop and EAT !!!
