DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

Haven't been on in about a week :scared1: but wanted to check in.I didn't really read back much but I did see that Mel's Dd gets to go on her trip. That is awesome!!!

Rachel(DD3) is having her surgery in the morning. She is having her tonsils and adnoids out.Her sleep apnea has gotten really bad lately so we decided to go ahead and do it.For some reason I am really nervous about this, which seems strange since DS11 has had one surgery and DS9 has had seven.

A while back I posted that I thought that my Disney trip might need to be canceled because of my DH's transmission.Well my brother was able to do it for us....DRUMROLL PLEASE....for $100!!!!:cheer2: This would have cost us $2500 anywhere else but his boss gave him most of the parts as a bonus and he didn't charge us any labor. We will be giving him some $$ anyway but he still saved us.I am still tentative with my Disney plans because I am having to take time off without pay to take care of Ray but it looks good for us to be able to go.Sorry this ended up so long.

i'm so happy for you that your disney plans may still be a possibility! that's so awesome!!! :yay:

and i'm sure everything will work out with your DD's tonsil surgery. at least she gets to eat lots of ice cream! i'm sure it will be fine. ;)

Amy glad that your trip plans are working out for you! That is great that your brother helped you out.

I might order the tinker bell suit... DH laughed at me though. I will probably go w/ the 14 since I am fitting (tightly) into some of my 14s and I hope to lose more soon.

My totals for today:
B: Coffee (20)
L: Chili (390) + cheese (40), Salad (100), Activia Yogurt (70)
S: Apple (60) + calorie-free caramel for dipping
D: Banquet sliced beef meal (230), SF pudding (60)
S: FF popcorn (200) + 1 kosher chocolate tea biscuit (15)
Total, 1175. Exercise, 1.5 hours of hockey.

I am so tired. 5 days of exercising a week is getting to me, but on the other hand, I was able to make through hockey tonight without feeling like I was going to die. I think adding the extra cardio days is helping w/ endurance.

This weekend I will get good exercise on Saturday... going to do Habitat for Humanity w/ a friend, and then likely a 2 hour public skate for some extra skating practice. Sunday if it doesn't rain, we are heading to the water park. I have to dream about the weekend because it is only Wed... two more days to go!

That is what everyone keeps saying but the child doesn't like icecream.:confused3

Hi Everybody !!! I'm not sure if a lot of you remember me or not, it seems like FOREVER since I visited this thread !!!
so sorry you've had tough times. We're glad you're back.

GOD IS GOOD!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS!

I am looking at the passport right now.

Just as we were about to leave for Chicago a courier service called to say they were delivering it in 15 minutes. The tour company rebooked DD on a direct flight tonight and she arrives in Paris 2 hours after the rest of the group.

Got to get her to the airport!

LOVE YOU, PEEPS!!!

Yea! Just when you think it can't possibly happen! I'm so glad she won't miss anything.

just wanted to say hello i have not been on in a lil while ... i am gonna try to catch up tommorow but who knows what may happen

I don't pre-weigh on Thursday, but I do weigh all week. I am "honest" and post the friday morning weight even if it's one minute after midnight. Even when on wednesday it's 3 pounds less than friday. Even if it's up or ugly.

BUT, one time in the very very beginning, I had gained like 3/4 of a pound and posted that I stayed the same. LIER! I justified it somehow at the time. There, my big fat FARCE is out there! Whew, I feel better. :hippie:

I just ate ice cream (1/2 C. cookies and cream, yucky) and last night I had chicken fried steak at a local family diner. It was smothered in that white gravy too. So, I totally need to do AWESOME till weigh day. Water water water. "Exer*choke*cise"......

edited to say: In the above paragraph, I originally wrote, "I was smothered in that white gravy..." HA!!!!!!

Magnifique! I'm so glad she'll make it to Paris. I almost cried when I thought she wouldn't make it. I'm starting to talk to DH about a trip there for us in a year or 2.

That's so great. I just write them checks, and that doesn't burn many calories. I'm dreaming about the weekend too.

I love your new siggie picture. You look very glamorous!

I almost forgot to add a story DH told me yesterday. DH said one of his 6th grade students was taking a social studies test, and asked DH how to spell high-t**ties (rhymes with itty bitties). DH didn't know what the kid was talking about, but answered while trying to keep a straight face, that the boy should sound it out the best he could. It turns out he was writing about the Hittites. sometimes it's so difficult to be mature!

Have a skinny day, all. Just one day till weigh-in. I hopped on the scales at the gym and was up 3/4 lb. Cue Eddie Money:"Gimme some water!" :rockband:

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Thanks again for all your prayers, happy thoughts, and well wishes. As we were driving to the airport DD said "Did you tell your peeps?" Well of course!

Here's the rest of the story if you're still interested in this saga....

I left work early yesterday, we had bags packed, making a couple of last minute calls, already had another girl from DD's tour group who was in the same boat with no passport and we were literally about to walk out the door to go to Chicago when the phone rang to say the passport was being delivered.

When it got here, it was delivered by a courier service but it was a FedEx package with the very same tracking number we had been searching for days! The passport bureau told us it shipped out Tues at 5:30 p.m. FedEx told us that the package was NOT-double-NOT in their possession.

The FedEx folks were very kind and helpful but told us that the passport bureau has been known to lie about shipping (the check's in the mail) to shut people up. FedEx said if they did get the package that they would do whatever it took to get it to us in time. We could slap a $175 same day delivery on it and we'd have it in no time.

Well they never had the package in their tracking system....never. And it arrives just 20 minutes after the original flight departed Cincinnati airport. I got back on the phone with the travel agent and asked if there was a direct flight and indeed there was. (It costs us $$ but it was gonna cost us $$ to change the flight anyway since she missed the first one.) She had one hour to get her stuff together and we drove to Cincinnati.

We were so excited but so, so, so sad to have to send the other little girl who was going with us to Chicago back home. I'm not sure what will happen with her or if she will get to go on this trip. :sad2:

DD was nervous to fly alone since she is a little shy and hesitant to ask people where she should be and what she is supposed to do. She called me a couple of times to ask questions while she was still at the gate. The tour guide was supposed to meet her at the gate....which she was also a little unsure about.

Just got the call that they are all safely in Paris. The main group's flight was delayed in D.C. and so it sounds like they all arrived at the same time. :goodvibes

CREDIT.....God gets it all! This was truly a miracle.

MORAL....All US citizens now need a passport even to fly to Canada, Mexico or the Bahamas!!! This is what has created the backlog. If you think you MIGHT need a passport, apply at least 16 weeks early no matter WHAT they tell you at the post office and by all means slap the extra $60 expedite fee on that sucker UP FRONT! Don't even think about it...just do it.

Now back to catch up.........

MY DD had sleep apnea, but it took us several years to diagnose. SHe had rotten adnoids taken out at 17 mths and2 sets of tubes. Well her breath was always horrendous-I expected to see her on Montel one day saying she could not have a boyfriend because her breath was always funky. Well in first grade she started having trouble in school and the teacher was quick to say ADHD--we knew that was not the case. I started doing research---DD went to bed at 7:30 and was almost near impossible to wake up at 6:30 the next morning---huge meltdowns over getting up. In research children that have sleep apnea show similar symptoms of children with ADHD. Her teacher thought it was all a joke. I went to ADHD DR. (the one my son sees) and explained everything to him--he sent us straight to ENT to have evertything checked out. Come to find out her tonsils had grone unusually large in the matter of 8mths--to the point this was in OCT. that he did not even want to chance her getting a cold because they could swell shut. Both tonsils were almost touching the hangy down thing in the throat. We had surgery the next week and she has been wonderful since--can sleep like a normal person now. ALos, her breath is now wonderful--go figure--it was all about those nasty tonsils. Afterwards the teacher said she was doing much better!! Remember lots of liquids--especially around days 7-10. People think the first few days are most critical of liquids, but these days are just as important.

Also, COngrats on being able to keep the trip.
I have helped with Habitat Before on several occasions--it is so much fun and rewarding.

I have heard being smothered in stuff--but never gravy :rotfl2:

Now back to catch up.........

THey kept telling my sister that hers was in the mail--and she would reply why isn't it being tracked---that is how she knew there were problems. I am so glad that it all worked out. IT is great to hear that they landed very close together. I went tp Paris when DS was 3 and DD was 6 mths. It is an awesome place. GOD truley gets all credit--you are so right :thumbsup2

no need for apologies! we all get busy. i actually ordered a 12 just because i like ample backside coverage. we'll see how it fits when it gets here. i can always return it for a 10 if it's too big......i don't mind returns when things are too big!

Good luck... I feel like the sizes are going to be all wacky for this suit... Especially if Dance had the opposite problem as me! I have had issues with that on disneyshopping.com before. I ordered a bunch of polos, same polo just different character logos and colors- the minnie one is much tighter than the rest and I even called and had them exchange! Good luck to all- because that bathing suit is so darn cute!!!

OT--youngest DS likes to turn on dishwasher--so we usally do not lock it so he can't turn it on. Yesterday, when I got home at noon I heard it on and realized the sitter had locked it and he turned it on. Well like normal I turned it off. THis has happend several times so really no big deal. Last night about 8:30 I loaded up the last couple of dishes and noticed some water at the bottom of the dishwasher and just thought it must not have drained from when Joshua was playing with it--again has happened before and no big deal. I start the dishwasher and go watch t.v. fall asleep and DH get home bout 10:30--we go to bed. As I walk through the kitchen I hear the dishwasher and just assume it is about to shut off--since I am half alseep. Well at 5:30 this morning I wake up and hear a noise--it is the dishwasher still going---it is burning hot--I open it up and the steam about burns my arm. Nothing has melted which I am shocked, but now I see soap bubbles in the bottom of the washer--I has been on for 9 hours :scared1:

Question---should I call someone to come look at it--it is only 20 mths old. Do you think he messed it up? I am just so aggrivated over this.

Have to go I am being summonds by the little man now---he has awoken and had all he wants of his crib.

BEE....Your tribute to your dad was lovely. I could not have read that without sobbing. You're my hero!
You all helped me before, and I could really use it again.
Welcome back! So sorry to hear about your family losing so many loved ones. I hope your daughter gets to go on her trip as well. Nothing worse than getting their hopes up and then having them all crash down.
Such a scary process, but one I know I will end up being very happy with having done in the end.
I have a good friend who had the surgery and she is thrilled with the results as is her husband who gave me more details than I really wanted. :scared: But she too was having back problems which have now gone away completely.
I am a little discouraged today...I have not walked all week b/c of the weather and I had a few too many cookies tonight.
I have been doing that a lot in last coupla weeks, Tara. After yesterday's ordeal, I went to McDonald's on the way home from the airport and then walked the kids to Graeter's for a chocolate shake. :scared: Let's get back on the wagon. I will if you will.
Vicksburg was wonderful. I love the Civil War era. I could watch Gone with the Wind everyday! The B & B we stayed at was beautiful. The museums were interesting. And the food was great! I ate horribly! The last night there we went to this great seafood and steak restaurant. I had a filet with lump crabmeat cream sauce! But I did eat a salad and fresh asparagus for sides.
The entire trip sounds wonderful, Stacey! I would love to go to Vicksburg and the food sounds delicious!
Rachel(DD3) is having her surgery in the morning.
 I'm sure she'll be fine and much improved like Heather's DD after surgery. Does she like popsicles? That's our "sick food" of choice.
Well my brother was able to do it for us....DRUMROLL PLEASE....for $100!!!!:cheer2:
YAY! What a blessing! Just when you think something is impossible...God comes through again!
So, I totally need to do AWESOME till weigh day. Water water water. "Exer*choke*cise"......
:scared: I know! I haven't walked for at least 2 weeks...just too busy and have to leave work the minute I get off. I'll exercise if you will!
It turns out he was writing about the Hittites. sometimes it's so difficult to be mature!
:lmao: That's a good one! I'm not sure I could've gotten through that without a snicker or two.
Question---should I call someone to come look at it--it is only 20 mths old. Do you think he messed it up? I am just so aggrivated over this.
:scared1: YES!!!! Call a repairman! What if DS turns it on and you leave the house without realizing it??? Get thee to the phone right now and call somebody. Please. :flower3:

UtahMama - Just a word of warning that I might not be weighing in tomorrow. We are leaving on a weekend trip out of town tomorrow morning, and I might not have time to weigh myself and come here to record it.

You know what is funny? I know we joke about that alot, but if I ever hit the goal I want I think I would be more than happy to post a bathing suit picture! Heck, I will be showing anyone that wants to see I think! Especially after my surgery. I will be one hot tamale ;)
I am right there with you! Of course, I'd have to go tanning first since my upper body hasn't seen sunlight in probably 15 years. I wouldn't want to blind anybody with the glare coming off of my very white body. :scared1:

A while back I posted that I thought that my Disney trip might need to be canceled because of my DH's transmission.Well my brother was able to do it for us....DRUMROLL PLEASE....for $100!!!!:cheer2: This would have cost us $2500 anywhere else but his boss gave him most of the parts as a bonus and he didn't charge us any labor. We will be giving him some $$ anyway but he still saved us.I am still tentative with my Disney plans because I am having to take time off without pay to take care of Ray but it looks good for us to be able to go.Sorry this ended up so long.
That is great news! Someone must have dusted your brother with a little Pixie Dust. pixiedust:

This weekend I will get good exercise on Saturday... going to do Habitat for Humanity w/ a friend...
I've got a question about this. Do you have to be handy to help out? I ask because I've always been very interested in volunteering for this, but I'm not the most skilled carpenter in the world. (Let's face it, if I can hammer a nail in less than 10 swings it is a major accomplishment for me.) But I am really good at manual labor (like hauling heavy objects around), so I didn't know if there would a place for someone like me on a construction sight.

Phew! Now that I am semi caught up.....I have been MIA because the weather here has finally decided to become summer. We have been at the pool alot the last few days, and went to a baseball game last night. I love summer :goodvibes And it has done wonders for everyones mood being able to burn off some energy outside this week.

I have also been off doing research for my surgery. I think I have picked my surgeon and we set a tentative date for July 17th :goodvibes I go back to him for a pre-op appt on July 3rd and we will narrow it down from there if we need to change it at all. (we have to do some preliminary bloodwork and a mamogram- since I am not old enough to have ever had one they like to do one before surgery and after.) So barring an unusual results form that I will be getting myself all done up on the 17th. I have been scouring the internet for before and after pics, and looking up Dr records. Such a scary process, but one I know I will end up being very happy with having done in the end. I cant wait to buy bras in a regular store, or get a shirt in a size other than XL because it has to accomodate the twins :rotfl:

that's great..one step closer to what you want! :thumbsup2

Ok, LexMelinda- I'll exercise if you will too. Deal!

I just want to get rid of these allergies. I think I'm also getting a cold or flu or something else because my neck is sore and my head is all achy. Do I sound old now? And my bursitis and gout are acting up...LOL!

We had a fun sleepover last night with Misty's 2 oldest boys. It really has gone well! I think it's funny that the sleeping bags' positions (on the living room floor) are no where near their original placements. They are all way-askew.

Now, what to fix for breakfast for 4 hungry boys? And 3 toddlers. Cereal assortment? Sounds easy and ...easy.

No--anyone can help. There are usually a wide range of things that can be done. Our church has built 2 habitat homes and I have helped to work on another 2 when I was younger. They need all abled bodies and they will find something for you to do. Have a great trip.

:scared1: YES!!!! Call a repairman! What if DS turns it on and you leave the house without realizing it??? Get thee to the phone right now and call somebody. Please. :flower3:
I am calling a repair man this morning. THe more I think about this the worse I feel----Our house could have burned up :scared1: When I looked at it before I left the water still had not drained out of the bottom so I am guessing that is why there were still soap bubbles in the bottom. I am just sacred that there is something faulty in there since it never turned off! The builders are at my home today---yea!! THey are supposed to pour the new slab at 11--Joshua loves to see all the men there and all the big trucks!!!

I weigh every day too. I need to stop, it is discouraging me. I feel like I am being so good that I should lose a lb a day and it is never going to happen.

Mmmmm white gravy. I love chicken fried anything and white gravy is the best. Bet your DH would love it if YOU were smothered!!

That's so great. I just write them checks, and that doesn't burn many calories. I'm dreaming about the weekend too.

I will give time but not money... never sure where the money is going. Just my hangup. I want to start volunteering at the Animal Shelter but I am afraid that I would want to take them all home. I tried teaching ESL to Spanish speakers last year (I speak Spanish), but I am really no good as a teacher.

I am right there with you! Of course, I'd have to go tanning first since my upper body hasn't seen sunlight in probably 15 years. I wouldn't want to blind anybody with the glare coming off of my very white body. :scared1:

I hear ya on the blindinly white upper body! But if I ever get down to 150, my bathing suit pic will be up for all to see.

No, you don't have to be handy. I have two right thumbs and two left feet and they find things for me to do. My friend is a paid site supervisor so I just tag along sometimes. You can also go to their website and find a site and email someone that you are showing up... you don't have to be affiliated with an organization. Anyone is welcome!

Melinda, so glad that everything worked out.

Everyone looking at Disney bathing suits... if you are buying from disneyshopping and you aren't DVC, PM me for the discount code (saves 10%). Also, there are a bunch that are on disneyshopping, on ebay for $5-12 (including shipping). Just go to the swimwear section and search for Disney.

I am so tired today. We only had 12 people total for hockey last night (to give you an example, an NHL team has 18 people on each team!), and there was a lot of skating.

I am trying to decide if I should go do cardio today. Does anyone know if it hurts you to exercise every day? I am doing weights Tues/Fri and cardio MWThur (M/Th 45 min on ellptical, W hockey). I doubt it will hurt me or my weight loss, but then again I don't know very much about these things. I would try a personal trainer but the extra $$...

Have a skinny day everyone!!

I called the company we bought our apppliances from and just as I thought there was only a 1 year part and labor warranty on the appliances. I am waiting for the serviceman to give me a call to set something up for later today. I know that this is going to cost me a FORTUNE!!!!

WOOOO HOOOTY!!!!!

Oh Melinda I am so happy for you and your daughter. I didn't get on the boards yesterday afternoon or last night, so didn't get to check up on you! I came on this morning just to check! I was telling my DH about this last night and I was actually crying (just misting, not sobbing) because I felt so badly for your DD. I was telling him that your DD was going to miss Paris...the best part of the trip for her! OK now I'm misting again, because I'm so happy that things worked out in the end!:yay: :yay: :dance3: :dance3: :grouphug:
