Well, I mentioned it in teeny font last night. What if we did a 20 pound challenge for September?? Starting TODAY ((those of you that think friday after weigh in is "free"!!! :rolleyes1 )). Any ideas for a prize??? Any thoughts or suggestions?


i am at my mid-way point in reaching my goal and i have 14 more pounds to lose, which i hope to do by my birthday (july 18th - i totally think that's doable). but the reason i wanted to respond is because i wanted you guys to know that i'll definitely be here cheering on all those that take the challenge!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: you guys can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
My shins hurt, my left thigh... dH says its about 1 1/4 mile I've been traveling, today was tough... WWPD?? I put on my workout clothes and decided I wasnt taking them off till I got out there! No excuse. I made it! DH says the first 2 weeks are the hardest... omg, its going to get worse?

just remember that if it's muscle soreness, that's what you want. when your muscle is sore that means that it is rebuilding itself to be firmer and better! but if it's joint pain or bone pain then that's a different story. do you take calcium supplements? i have to for shin splints (sp?) from when i played soccer as a kid/teenager. anyway, good job!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
 
I just read the last page, will get caught up later. About the bracelet thing, I make jewelery. I work in semi-precious gemstones and sterling silver. I have several designs that I've made and can work on something custom if everyone wants.

How many people do we have taking the challenge? I know I'd like to. I saw the number 3 somewhere, it that it?

Unfortunately, I'm also coming down the home stretch of a LARGE conference I'm doing in Atlanta one week before DH and I take our entire Grand Gathering of a family to visit the mouse. Just a bit on the stressed :scared1: and time-constrained side. (Actually, what this means is that you'll probably be seeing a lot MORE of me in here. This is one of my favorite forms of procrastination!)

Tomorrow will be a big struggle. Baseball field food all day,,,even taking my own food is difficult...hopefully we can leave the park for lunch and I can get a salad...or grilled chicken sandwich. I need help folks, WWPD will be running thru my head! I am in for the Sept challenge...
 

Have switched to iced tea recently just because I need to do SOMETHING different. Plateau is killing me.

when i made my committment to lose 28 pounds i switched to water only and those iced tea crystal lite packets you put in a bottle of water aren't half bad.....from one iced tea lover to another! ;)
 
Ok, for those enquiring minds who want to know, I'll tell you my little story. I have to preface it with my dh's schedule is crazy. He works full time at night and is going to school full time during the day. He also has a second side job besides being very busy with church stuff. So between his and my schedules we rarely see eachother let alone have intamite "moments"............... yesterday we were having said moment after dinner. Dd Bailie was waiting for dh to help her study for a test. With perfect comedic timing that only an innocent child could have from down the hall Bailie yells "DAD!! Are you comeing yet????".......................................I warned you way too much information! But I laughed for about an hour afterwards and then had a headache from laughing so hard.

Aldisneygirl, I hear ya on the Jap. steakhouse... those ALWAYS do that to DH and I.

I am not sure yet about the challenge, not a jewelry person plus I am pretty new here... I really hope to be down 40 by September though.

I am sooo sore. Starting hockey is beating me up... hips and thighs are killing me, as well as right between the shoulder blades. No pain, no loss, I guess!

I did good today... 400 cals for lunch (frozen meal, yogurt, salad), 300 for dinner (spinach stuffed tilapia, artichoke, salad), and am eating a 200 cal popcorn snack. Also had enough cheese&crackers before dinner to be about 100 cals, and 12 oz of Mich Ultra (100). Drank my 64 oz of water, took the multi, and my mega-t green tea w/ hoodia in the morning and afternoon.

So I am right at 1100 cals right now, giving me 100 cals of leeway in case I miscalculated on salad dressing. Plus half hour walk/vent, hour of hockey, 10 min of weights, and 30 situps.

I love the meatball recipe, going to have to add that one to my list.

I did my first weigh-in for the group when I got home. It showed a 3 lb gain from Mon, but considering I weighed in the afternoon and after a BAD night, I refuse to be discouraged. Still down 17 lbs since Feb. Next Friday I hope to show a serious loss!!

Congrats to all the "losers" this week!!

for those interested, i wanted to update you on my trial. it was declared a mistrial because of a hung jury.:)
Dawn, so does that mean all your work was for nothing or do you still get paid for it? That's got to be frustrating for everyone involved!

The challenge starts TODAY,,,(friday cheaters!!!!) and ends just before the meet. I'm including everyone who accidentally loses the 20 even if they dont go!!!! The non-meet peeps are Included!

We'll figure out our super cool self-bought prize later...I think I'll do a necklace. A bracelet will get heavy and full with all those charms!
I'll take a look at Roberts and see if they have tarnish-free charms-bracelets.

Karen, I actually have a bunch of those Disney charms, I could use. I went hog wild buying them once. We'll see what I find. I need about 40.

We lost a total of 41 pounds this week!!!! Our Biggest Loser was DeneCarter!!! Second place was WIdisneyfan and third place was Pixie Dust!!! Wooo HOOO!!!!

Congrats to all the losers. I started to quote you all, but there were so many. so :thumbsup2 to you all.

I lost half a lb. this week. It didn't show up on my home scales, which are not very precise, but it showed up at the gym. Payoff for going on a Friday night of a week that was exhausting. Hooray for the weekend.

Am I the only one who GAINED 1 LB???
I am not freakin on the weight thing today because my DH said THE kindes thng today the bestest 6 words ever...I can tell you've lost weight !!! YAY!! He got a big smooch. And altho I have gained this week, my pants are loose and I am losing inches...its a matter of time til my scale realizes that it is wrong ;)



Woo Hoo on the TR! Easter chocolate at the office was caling out to me today and I gave in and had some. When I got home, I figured out why I was so susceptible to treats this week. AF made an appearance after SEVERAL months, if not a year :scared1: I'm wondering if it was the weight loss that triggered it :confused3 At least I haven't had a hot flash for a while :lmao:



I love when someone else is going right through what I'm going through. No real AF from Sept. to last week. Pants getting loose. The pants I wore today had been too SHORT, and now they aren't. Could it be because there's less junk in the trunk taking up the fabric? So hang in there ladies. We're in this together!

i think i just used too much lemon or something b/c it was sooooooo sour! i'm sure my face was a puckerfied sight to see!

Guess what I tried... guess!! OK, I'll tell apple cider vinegar - in 8oz of water - MAN DOES THAT WORK!! and talk about sour!! but if any peeps want to get rid of water... I read 1T of vinegar in water will help break down a heavy fatty meal, and flush out your system... I did 8 oz of water and drank it real fast... but I'm thinking of adding it to a salad and see if that will work better! I read it has to be APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (they sell them in pill form, but I'll bet you need the real deal!!) PUCKER POWER PUNKIN!! :rotfl2:

OK - thanks, I do have the calcium, but I've only been taking it in the morning (I read that our bodies cant handle more than 500 mg at a time of calcium!)

As for prize incentive...

I'm completely flexible - $5 Disney dollar per person (I can take your 5 and change it to a disney dollar, hold it to the winner, and mail the winnings off)

Bracelet - I'm wondering if we can somehow make our own stretchy beaded bracelet (works wonders as a worry stone I busily twist, and count and hold on to an Irish marble bracelet) and then UMA can dole out prize winning charms? I know Hallmark Stores had some nice bracelets - as does many other locations (Target, WalMarts...) Still brainstorming this idea... (I'd be willing to send my pink strand of beads.. I'll get out my kit to find out how many I have, but i know its more than 20 - I know both JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels sell Bead Making supplies!! The glass beads I have came in strands)

Plushy - We can put up a SKINNY MINNIE Minnie Mouse Plushy to go to the Victor? Or like our Skinny Minnie Scrapbook, we can mail a Minnie (how about a flat minnie??) to each other for a week to support our efforts... (again, totally brainstorming)

It is going to be a long day. DD plays in the district soccer tournament. THere are 1600 kids playing. Our first game as at 12 and the second is at 6. In order to get a parking spot I am going at 1045 ish. I will have Joshua as DH has two filming projects going on today. We also play at 12 tomorrow--and we have a conflict. We have a landscaping designer coming over. They go to church with us and this has been on the calender for almost 2 mths. I am making lunch and he is going to give us ideas for our non-landscaped yard. He is also not charging us --that is even better. We will be doing all the work ourselves. SO I really cannot cancel with him--his entore family is coming over. I am going to see if she can go to the game with a friend and we will show up late. We will see.
