Happy Tuesday all!!!!!

Hi everyone! Just checking in.

Thursday is coming up fast! I'm very excited to find out what we are having.

I have so much reading to do here I don't know where to start? Is there a cheat sheet anywhere?

Speaking of that, well kinda, I have to pat my back.

In my classes I'm just rocking!! I've never been so motivated to get A's, but I am doing that. I'm on a roll! I think everyone should wait to go to college and experience life first and then make improvements where necessary.

Only in a perfect world right?

Anyways hope your week is rocking ladies! It's another beautiful day. Spend some of it outside. Get recharged!

I think that it is great that you are in school! I am thinking of going back to college, too. I am 30 and want to go back to get my degree in Criminal Justice. What are you going to school for?
I hope all your hard work pays off and you see lots of a++++'s!

You did! You did! :) We went to Narcoosee's on our honeymoon and our 3rd anniversary trip. Both times, I had lobster. (It was our one splurge dinner on our honeymoon, and we were on the dining plan for the 3rd anniversary trip!) It was great! On our honeymoon, it was actually steak and lobster, and the lobster came with this vanilla sauce that was AMAZING! Oh, and for dessert, I have 4 words for you! KEY LIME CREME BRULEE! :cloud9: I am a real fan of creme brulee, and that one is amazing!

yeah, i can't wait for the lobster. i've heard good things about it! we're on the DDP, so for dessert i'm thinking the key lime creme brulee and the almond crusted cheesecake.......yummy!!!!!! obviously i'm not dieting with at WDW!

All this talk of food gave me a reason to post this. Against my own better judgment, I made a few ADR's for my September "we need a week off to recover from moving twice and living in separate houses for three months with our parents while building a house" WDW Trip; or as I like to call it, my SWNAWOTRFMTALISHFTMWOPWBAH WDW Trip. (That title just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?) This trip was originally our LBTBHK WDW Trip (or "Last Big Trip Before Having Kids" WDW Trip). And technically, I guess it still is. But since I first called and booked our trip last August, a lot of stuff happened that changed the focus from "last trip as DINKS (double income, no kids)" to relaxing and recouping from a stressful summer. (I think I am finally starting to get a hang of the DIS abbreviation style of writing!)

I really didn't want to make any ADR's because the mere thought of planning our meals six months in advance makes me queasy. But 98.37% of the people on the DIS tell you that you need to make ADR's, even if you end up cancelling some of them them when you get down there. So I compromised with myself and I only made ADR's for four of our eight nights. And quite honestly, I don't even know why I am posting these. My wife isn't into a lot of the exotic foods that they offer in the nicer restaurants. I'm willing to try anything, but she prefers your more "traditional" foods. So you'll see that reflected in our choices. They are all your basic ho-hum restaurants; none of which people will say "that is my favorite place at WDW". I've also put down what we plan on doing for food the rest of the week, just to make reading this post a little more worthwhile. I am probably going to end up making an ADR for Friday night as well because I am assuming Friday nights are busier than during the week, which makes getting a table service place at a decent time more difficult. So here goes nothing...

Saturday, Sept 15 - Plaza Restaurant, 17:30 (Wanted to make sure we had somewhere to eat when we arrive)
Sunday, Sept 16 - Concourse Steak House, 17:30 (I probably would have been ok without this one, but I didn't want to have to think about making an ADR Saturday night. And since this is our Animal Kingdom day, we probably will not be in a park at dinner time.)
Monday, Sept 17 - We plan on eating our way around Epcot's World Showcase on this day. So we'll just be grazing all day, with no real meals planned.
Tuesday, Sept 18 - Liberty Tree Tavern, 17:30 (Character meals always book up fast)
Wednesday, Sept 19 - Completely unplanned day. We'll probably try to go back to the Concourse Steak House (provided it is still open when we are down there); but if we end up in one of the parks this day that could change as well.
Thursday, Sept 20 - This is probably going to be our MGM/Downtown Disney day. Not sure what we'll be doing for lunch, although I am leaning towards the Sci-Fi Dine-In. For supper we want to grab something light at DTD (like McDonalds or Wolfgang Puck Express) so we have room for dessert at Ghirardelli's.
Friday, Sept 21 - Our 2nd completely unplanned day. As I stated earlier, we'll probably end up with ADR's before the end of the summer just so we have somewhere to eat on a busy Friday.
Saturday, Sept 22 - Tony's Town Square, 12:30 (We've heard Tony's is better during lunch, and being a Saturday we figured we'd have a harder time getting an ADR while we were down there. Part of me thinks I should switch this so we can have a nice celebratory meal on our last day there. So this one is still in limbo.)

So there you have it; my very basic, nothing to get excited about ADR's and other dining plans.

YOu have said this more than once. Why are you living at different houses, if you don't mind my asking? Inquiring minds want to know!!

Spongie-Misty announced to ya "she was spending time today at my house, PM her if you were curious why". I am having a Scentsy Candle open house at my house. Our Jeriber PM'd Misty and found out the time. Jeriber was visiting her sister today in Utah and came to my candle open house! No, Misty did NOT know Jeriber was coming! (Neither one of us could EVER keep a secret!)

Isn't that SWEET?!!

BUT.....

Neither I nor Misty recognized her EVEN after she:
- introduced herself
- flashed her crown style Mother's Ring I copied and have posted on my fridge
- called her dd (:cutie: ) "Jeriber" several times durring our visit...

From the moment she walked in the door, she looked SO familiar to me!
She kept looking at me expecting one of us to recognize her.

NOPE.

I had only invited my friends and neighbors. I thought maybe I invited a new neighbor I hadn't met yet? Maybe I had cut her hair before? Maybe I new her from church? Her FACE was familiar.

STILL NOTHING...

It comes time for her to order and she said she wanted it to be directly shipped to her home...out of state. She asked me if her addy looked familiar???

NOPE.

Mind you, Jeriber is the person I mail the recipe scrapbooks to!!!!!

((Cricketts))

FINALLY, I'm thinking she wanted to SMACK me on the head, she said:

"I'm Jeriber!" (you clueless dolt!!!!!)

For a good 20-30 minutes of wondering HOW I Knew her, and ALL her BLATANT hints, The light when ON! And we hugged and squeeled (me) like highschoolers!!!!

We had a wonderful visit after I was clued! See, I am AWFUL at getting the hint!!!!!! If someone says, "Look at that lady over there...." I tackily say, "WHERE!" as I swing my head around :sad2: .

This first one is not the best of Misty (Sorry Misty!). The next one SUCKS of me so it's fair! Jeriber is cute as can be!!!!!

UM_you did such a good job of describing the way it happened. I was trying to give BIG hints-it was actually kind of funny waiting for you to figure it out. I love the look of surprise that I got from you and Spongemommie, and how nice that GoofyforUM was home also.

A trip to Utah to surprise UM-930 miles
Tanks of gas-4
The look on Utahmama's face when she-finally-realized who I was-priceless

YOu have said this more than once. Why are you living at different houses, if you don't mind my asking? Inquiring minds want to know!!
I don't mind you asking. As I mentioned, we are building a house. And we had to sell our current house so we weren't stuck with two mortgages when our new house is done around the end of July. Well, our current house sold a lot faster than we thought it would so we had to figure out a place to live until we get to move into our new house. We looked around for apartments that accepted pets, and it was tough finding one with immediate openings that didn't require a 6 month or longer lease. And our dog is very barky; she'll bark at every little thing that goes past the window, which I know is normal. But then she'll keep on barking for the next 10 minutes, long after the thing that caused her to bark is gone. And she does this for every little sound she hears. So we were also worried about getting kicked out of the apartment for excessive barking. My parents invited us both to live with them, but they don't have dogs and didn't like the idea of us bringing our dog along with us. And I understood that, especially given that my mom would have been alone with the dog all day; and she would feel absolutely terrible if she let anything happen to the dog. My wife's parents have had pets their whole lives, so they have no problem with my wife bringing our dog along with her. But their house is considerably smaller than my parents' house and it would have been a little too close for comfort living with my in-laws for an extended period of time. So we settled on the fact that the best arrangement would be for my wife and the dog to live with her parents, and for me to live with mine. And I'll admit that money played into it as well. With no mortgage/rent, utilities, cable, phone, etc for three months, we'll be able to save enough money to put in a lawn right away. We can buy the dining room furniture that we really want. Or we can just save it for a rainy day. So it has that benefit as well. Trust me, this was not what we had hoped for. But we'll still be seeing each other every night and pretty much all weekend. So it'll be like sleeping in seperate beds, just seperate beds on opposite sides of town.

Edit - You may be wondering, "why doesn't the dog live with the wife's parents, and the husband and wife get an apartment or live with the husband's parents". The answer is simple. I tell people that it would be harder for my wife to be away from her dog for three months than it would being away from me for three months. And while that is only 1/2 joking, it would be very difficult for my wife to not see the dog every night. She would be very miserable being away from the pooch for that long.

I totally get it-when we built or house it took longer than expected so the kids and I lived with my mom until the new house was done and DH stayed at the new house by himself. It will make you appreciate the new house even more!!

Or you could do what everyone else on this thread would do and book an extra Disney vacation...who the heck needs a lawn or furniture?:lmao: or  you could buy "lawn furniture" ... the really cheap stuff and just move it back and forth between the yard and the dining room, and use whatever is leftfor Disney!

Hi Jeriber!!!!! How was the trip home?

I'm still blushing and giggling at what a DOLT I can be!

:rolleyes1

Happy Tuesday all!!!!!

I do love the view at Narcoosee's too! It is beautiful! We haven't been there in a couple of years now! I miss it! I am voting for that one for our September/October trip. We have been trying to eat at places we have never been before, and we are starting to run out of places! We have a few left, but Sept will be perfect to get in a few more because we will have leftover dining credits from FIL and SMIL once they head home half way through the trip! I think we are going to at least two 'signature' restaurants! I think we'll be going to Hollywood Brown Derby too. We have never been there before. We are just starting to talk about ADRs for that trip! :)

yeah, i can't wait for the lobster. i've heard good things about it! we're on the DDP, so for dessert i'm thinking the key lime creme brulee and the almond crusted cheesecake.......yummy!!!!!! obviously i'm not dieting with at WDW!

Oh, that sounds good! I want Narcoosee's NOW! Stomp!

And I won't be dieting at WDW either! I am hoping to go a few lbs. beyond my goal for May so I have a little cushion in case I gain on the trip. I wanted to lose 30 lbs. by the time we left in May, so I figure if I lose 35, I should be safe-ish. :lmao:

Just got back from a field trip with my 10 yo to the American Village- kinda a colonial williamsburg theme but in rural alabama. Really good trip- lots of walking - counting that for exercise today- now I'm going to take a nap;) Girls have dance class until 830 tonight so I gotta rest up.

Tomorrow- I'm going to finish my taxes and get them to the accountant- I'm counting that for exercise too:lmao: We are in the process of closing out a home business and I HATE TAXES!!!

Off to nap

you've probably already said this and i just missed it, so forgive me, but when are you going in may? we're arriving the 6th and leaving the 11th. short but sweet!

We arrive on the 18th (our actual anniversary) and leave on the 26th, so we will miss you by less than a week! :(

I'm totally in too... I could use the support as well...

My goal is to lose 60 lbs by this time next year...

My main thing that holds me back is snacking...

Anywho I can use all the support I can get and I'm totally down to help whoever needs help...

Phew finally caught up you guys have been very chatty today :rotfl2:

YOU SO CAN BE ON THE LIST BEING IN THE UK DOESTN EXCLUDE YOU SEND OVER YOUR ADDY AND YOU SHALL SEE!!!
 Oh thanks I will

Ok, funny dog story. I was out in the back playing ball with Phoebe. Well I was getting a little silly and trying to trick her so I started spinning around right before I threw the ball. Well I threw it alright. Way over the fence and into the canal! Thank goodness my dog does not realize that she could easily jump our fence. But she is deathly afraid of it and any gate-like objects. Anyway, we had another brand new ball exactly like the one I "lost". I gave it to her around 7pm. It is 10:40 p.m. here and she is still playing with it. All I have heard (I'm on the other side of the house) is *squeak, squeak, squeak* followed by her sliding across the tile followed by more *squeak, squeak, squeak*. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey I have been walking about 2 miles a day, trying to keep ontop of the eatting
:woohoo: keep it up fidge :thumbsup2

Does she have what she needs to charge her camera battery over there??? Aren't the outlets different over there?
Melinda are you and Lynda talking about European electrics? They have a different socket to you and to the UK but all our electrical stuff works fine in both countries with the right adaptor. Ours has 3 square prongs so don't get that one I think European is a 2 prong, I'm so much help aren't I :rotfl2:

60 pounds is EASY! ONE pound at a time!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Warning a rant is to follow Here is my rant. My dad had a major stroke last year. He didn't have the type most people have that effect their motor skills. His stroke effected his logic, his feeling, his ability at empathy, and his ability to sensor what he says. So he is totally different than he use to be. And I know he can not help it, but it is so frustrating.

Today I called him because my mothers birthday is on Thursday. He told me Sunday when walked over here ( oh yah i forgot to say my parents live close so my dad comes over all the time with projects for me to do) that he was going to make dinner, then he wanted me to do it, than he did not want to do anything.

Well today he told me he tricked my mom into making her own birthday meal for all of us, including baking her own cake and than he said some mean things about my moms weight. I talked to my mom and she said it was fine and she didn't need any help. On Thursday when the kids are there I do not if he will be nice to them or if he will like he was today. I feel so bad.

I know my dad does not mean to be this way, but it is hard, And normally I would be in the kitchen eating, but instead I decided to type to my peeps. Thanks for listening to my rant.
