Got back from my walk with DF with 2 min. left to spare before a huge T-storm rolled through. I also have some strawberry shortcake to finish up from when the future in-laws came over Sat. Only one serving left thank God! At least it's light cool whip!!!

My adventure...

Drove the boys maybe 40 - 50 miles into it and *DING *DING *DING warning light goes off, we are 1/2 mile to the exit... there is no anitfreeze in the car... so we add it... and off we go 87 miles, drop off everyone in their "homes" we go to our Priceline hotel... EWWWW (no bed bugs, but holes in the bedspread, just lots of eww, no bed bugs, and I had lysol wipes, I'm sorry, but the room WAS evidently dirty!1)

Next mornin, check out... get in car, do I check the fluid level? *duh no!! Do I remember my expensive feather pillow with 1,000 count egyptian cotton pillow case NO - stupid stupid stupid...

just get out of town and *DING *DING *DING< the lights flash the heat temp is in danger zone, and nothing but cornfields ahead, I did a U-ey (uturn on freeway!!) and head back to champaign, off of free way on a street by the Hobby Lobby and University, a Gas station, and 2 angels (I wrote their names down its in the car) added water, saw a hose that was bloated sent me to the autoparts store, and I buy the part, and take it back to the firestone automechanic... and they put it up on the lift, and find a hole in the metal weld from front to rear heater hose... $400 for the part alone!! LIke we have that... so much for my sept wdw trip...

good news, they found the part and put it in for $546 - and checked the line, 3 hours later, we're on the road to Springfield..and I declare all this just an ADVENTURE!! (dagnabit)

Now the stupid tire well right front... sounds cranky horrilbe... I'm so scared it may be a tire rod that will blow. and dh wants me to drive to champagne to get my pillow -

Hey, Lynda, want to drive over to the ESA (extended stay america) and pick up my pillow/?? I'll pay you!!!

I looked at a map when we got to the abraham lincoln hotel at 3:30 determined to find the visitor center to get tickets to see the Lincoln home today - when I "KNOW" to go left - 95% of the time, go right - ok... 2 blocks wrong way we turn around, go by the Law office of Lincoln, went the wrong way AGAIN... when we finally get where we're going Dd looks and says, gee mom that Hilton Hotel tower is really close11 why dont we follow that home!!

We had subway for dinner, and cold stone creamery for dessert... I paid $10 for internet access, I need a friend...

I'm very sorry to hear about your unlucky traveling today....I took a cross country trip in '99 and when something went wrong with my car, which was practically brand new, it was scary!! Especially when you are in a strange town/city. I had the first two places I stopped try to screw me on the price. It makes it worse when car trouble happens on vacations/day trips!! Sometimes I get so paranoid (I consider myself unlucky) that I find myself listening for the slightest inkling that something is wrong with my car. I hate cars!! Let's go back to horse and buggies. But we have to keep air travel in order to get to WDW! Keep your head up..tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it!! If I had a nickel everytime I've said that I would have a lot more Disney trips under my belt!

Peep to the (partial) rescue! I can pick up that pillow! And I'm not charging you for it! It's right in the vicinity of most of the shopping/eating out that DH and I do on the weekends. Just let me know how long I have to pick it up. If I could wait until at least Friday night, that would be good, but it's not that big of a deal to go before that either. Just let me know!

Eeyore you really need these!

Someday you will look back on this and laugh. Remember I said SOMEDAY! That is what makes trips memorable. You and DD will have fond memories of your crazy trip to Springfield when the car broke down, and you left your pillow, and got all turned around. It will be great memories that you and DD will laugh about in years to come. I know it isn't funny now, but know that I am sending prayers and your way! I figured you needed an extra dose of that !

Remember your Peeps ya'! And that's the best kind of love there is!

Hi everyone,

I've been reading all weekend but just not in a posting mood. I think about you and send prayers and pixie dust if you ask for it. Know that. Pixie Dust with a touch of Florida sunshine always does the trick .

I've been doing extra well with my food this week. Counting and writing down everything! Hopefully I'll see it pay off Thursday night. Oh and I actually used our treadmill on Friday night! I never ever ever exercise intentionally. I know I should but for me to get on there, even just once is huge! I have to lose 6 more lbs in the next 3 weeks to make my 20 lbs goal for the cruise. Here's hoping.

I've been so swamped with school as well. It's nearing the end of the semester which means lots of papers, tests and paper work. Add to that the planning and thinking about 2 trips to Disney and a cruise and I'm all over the place. Speaking of disney, check out my pre-TR if you have not already!

Ok, I did everything on my list for tonight and made my lunch for tomorrow and picked out clothes so I'm off to watch The Hills and reward myself!

Oh Deeennnneeeeeaaayyyy in my best sing song voice...is that new bling I see? Did Jay say yes to the WDW trip?

Unfortunately, no new blingage today. And I'm not going to be the biggest loser this week... but that's okay... I'm still a loser. It is frustrating 'cause I'm doing the EXACT same things I did the week before... no slacking and no cheating. But okay, I KNEW this day would come. The P-word... plateau.

And I did "mention" that my brother backed out of WDW and that I now have the big, huge, empty condo. In my fantasies, he's already there... in reality, let's just say IF I ever get the guts to invite him, it will probably be months from now.

Ironically, as I sit here contemplating my self-confidence issues, I'm watching "Extreme Celebrity Surgery"... guess it doesn't matter how thin, beautiful, or rich you are... you always see your flaws.

COURAGE so if you know about Flat Stanley, I"ll have to upload, and photobucket some of the Cowardly Lion Pics I"ve taken, Lion at Lincolns home, at the Law office, in front of the capital building...

and thanks to Lynda, I can do the Capitol buildings, and then the Museum tomorrow, and wed off to New Salem to see all the old homes, and businesses - the mills, the candle maker, the 1800 school house etc...

Just make sure those wheels, and that car hold together for a little bit longer...

Hey guys!!!! Got in late last night and have been busy all day. I don't think I will be able to catch up. Between work, school, and Jackson's baseball schedule the next few weeks will be crazy! Did I miss anything important the since Wednesday? Unfortunately, we found many great restaurants in Tulsa!

You're still doing great Dene! Look how far you've gotten. I know its frustrating, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter how much you lost in one week - its the final result that really matters. I have a hard time believing that myself, but I think it's true.

Talk about self-confidence. I feel so unworthy of anyone finding me attractive it's pathetic. Even a girlfriend just telling me I look pretty today or something like that and I don't (and won't) believe them. Then there are days when I am strutting around the house (notice I say the house - not anywhere in public) like a supermodel. Those days are few and far between but they are there. I love those days.

Ok, funny dog story. I was out in the back playing ball with Phoebe. Well I was getting a little silly and trying to trick her so I started spinning around right before I threw the ball. Well I threw it alright. Way over the fence and into the canal! Thank goodness my dog does not realize that she could easily jump our fence. But she is deathly afraid of it and any gate-like objects. Anyway, we had another brand new ball exactly like the one I "lost". I gave it to her around 7pm. It is 10:40 p.m. here and she is still playing with it. All I have heard (I'm on the other side of the house) is *squeak, squeak, squeak* followed by her sliding across the tile followed by more *squeak, squeak, squeak*.

Dene - about your condo and brother situation. When are you going? I'd be more than willing to come up for a few days and take up some space. But seriously, are there any friends you'd like to have come with you? Or if not, who cares - go with your DD and enjoy your giant luxurious grand villa! You could pretend you are some bigtime celebrity renting a mansion for Christmas. I would love all that extra space...what DVC was it again?
