Thank you! I had a wonderful birthday! A dozen of my family members surprized me ;) with a birthday party at the local bowling alley. They even had me a birthday cake, something that I haven't had in probably 15 years. :)

Special message for Fran (Hope it's not too puzzling)

That is really cute! Thanks for the birthday wish. :)

OK, fill me in on the passporters. I have never bought one and know nothing about them :faint:I know...I am a serious over planner but I have no clue about this planning tool! Which version do I need? What is so special about them? Something tells me they have all sorts of places to fill in where we are going and when- things I have been doing the hard way I am sure! Can you tell I am excited and want to go get one now?? :hyper:

Ok, off to research where I can buy a passporter :)

Try www.passporter.com - they offer discounts if you buy direct and there's all kinds of interesting and fun downloadables to satisfy that need for immediate gratification I get when I'm on a mission to PLAN.:tigger:

The site is packed with helpful and fun information, too.

I have a friend who works at the corporate office for JcPenney and today is a friends and family shopping event. If you order something online (or go to the store, but you arent here to go use the coupon) just enter DELIGHT in the promotions/coupon section. Save 20%, even on sale stuff :goodvibes It is one of the only places I can get bras at a decent price, so the :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc are gonna be happy!

Oh, and one of the sites-either borders or barnes and noble- had the refill pages for the deluxe passporter. It says it has all the pockets and pages the original has, all updated for 2007. It is only $20. Not trying to be a cheapo, but if I can get that for $20 I can certainly find a binder/organizer to put it in for less than the $40 the set is new, right?

mine was only like $24 at borders, but i got the standard 2007 edition that's the spiral one. i think the deluxe one is the one that's more like a binder where you can remove and add pages.

.

That is SO true! Thank you for sharing that article!

Happy Sunday peeps! Hope you all had a good Sat. We did absoultely nothing yesterday, DD and I stayed in our pj's intil 1:30  But it was nice for a chnage. Seems like every weekend is SO busy.

OMG, those things are the best! I bought some on friday and tried them yesterday. I had the yellow cake with filling and chocolate frosting. The cake part tasted a lot like twinkies do, but that is ok. As long as it has chocolate on top and is only 100 calories I am a happy girl!

Ok, off to research where I can buy a passporter :)

I like having "do nothing days". Sometimes it seems like my weekends get so busy that I don't get a day off. I agree chocolate and 100 calories? What more can I ask for?

I'm thinking about going back to school. My niche is the beauty industry (I have a cosmetology lic) but I really want to do esthetics (facials, waxing, cosmetics, pampering) in a spa! I think it's a perfect career for me. I want to go back to work when Norah is in school. Which isn't for a while. But if I go to school in the evenings, it'll be part time. I'd get a massive discount because I went to school at Francois D's. Oh, they are getting a new building that is a 3-story spa with a waterfall and fish tank etc. We'll see. The best part is, students practice on each other :cloud9: .Y'all can come visit Utah and get a facial

My DH is going to switch careers too, thank gosh! He'll be getting his CDL (truck driving) license and working a great local job. His job now, he works 5:30 PM till 6:00 AM  THEN goes to Delta airlines till 12:00 noon some days :scared: leaving him beyond exhausted. I bet he's aged 10 years at this job he started THIS year! He needs this change.

! (mmmmm, caaaake)

I imagine that you would be awesome working in the beauty industry. Besides being good at it, you would be so fun it that waxing wouldn't be that bad! Can you make house calls?

I went through my closet a while back and got rid of some stuff but I need to purge again. I have some stuff that is so small I may never see it again on my body, even if the size on the tag becomes my size again. It needs to go. After having a child, my body is just shaped differently and it is time accept my larger hips and move on. Besides, if I ever get into a 10 or 12 again I will be a shopping machine, I wont want to wear my old crusty clothes :rotfl: I dont think I have ever been a size 10, maybe since about 6th grade.

I can't remember ever being a 10. Maybe a 12 in Jr.High but a ten?? Nope!:)

Passporter is a book - at the back it has pockets for a ten day stay, those pockets have places to write in your adr, and your park preferences etc... I also throw in a TGM itinarary in each pocket - its an organizational tool, as well as having maps in color to all the parks, it has maps of all the resorts, so upon check in I open up my passporter, have my confirm # and a map of their resort... it also has a good inventory of rides, restaurants, etc...

and most importantly it tells you how to get to and from the airport - I shouldnt have packed mine last year our ME driver got so completely and totally lost - we called the WDW ME line, it was awful...

The deluxe version is only sold online I believe - and it has refillable and can be updated - 3 ring leather binder type - amazing1! I have Passporter envy!! :rotfl2: www.passporter.com (their message boards are slower, but I cant live w/o the organization tool1)

Now I really want a passporter!:cool1: But I am kind of an organizational nerd. I like to have a plan.:thumbsup2 Don't worry about how you look when you are running. The main thing is you ARE running. That is awesome!!:cheer2:

I dunno - maybe Lynda can shed some light - I think you'll have to look at it, I think the pages where the holes are - I believe they are non - standard :confused3 so it wouldnt fit in any old spiral binder - but the maps are wonderful - I just study them before we go, and cram the night before the park - and off we go!! DH looks at a disney map - I cant bother with maps when I'm going commando...

(:rotfl2: not w/o undies you know, running around from place to place to beat all the other people to the next "thing" I slow down after day 1!! and I wear undies!) :rotfl2:

Well dh has a geeky gps he programs the thing so he can tell me how far I've gone, and the speed I ran...

did it work? um NO... I am just a tad bit :headache:  where's the exploding into fire smiley???

I'm going to show HIM - I'm going to get a pedometer and walk the route! humph////!

I just ordered one from their site- it was cheapest (for a new one at least) and if you sign up for their email list they will send you a code for 20% off.

I cheaped out and ordered the refill pgs. I like the idea of a binder, and judging from what I can tell, I can find a planner it will fit into. If not, I can get some of those rings things and make my own binder. I just wanted the ability to rearrange the pages and maps based on when and where I am going, so this was the cheapest way to be able to do that.

that's exactly what i got. but be careful when ordering from amazon.com. i ordered it and then when i got my e-mail receipt it said estimated delivery was 5/23 b/c they're on back order. i'm leaving for WDW on 5/5, so that wasn't going to work! so i cancelled my order with amazon and that's why i went to look at the actual bookstore websites instead to check out their inventory.

and you'll like having access to the maps too!!

The 30% off code is attatched to my address - I tried!!

I just looked it up online at Borders. They had it in stock. My husband works in the same city so he will pick it up this week!! I am excited!:cool1:

Learning to live with food, not without food.

Choose a reasonable goal weight. Calculate your daily caloric intake using the following formula:
Female: Goal weight in pounds X 12 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake
Male: Goal weight in pounds X 14 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake.

Start eating a well-balanced diet that contains this number of calories.

After a few days, take a good, hard look at how you're doing. If you're not happy with the amount of food that maintains your goal weight, you have two choices: you can either start exercising or you can decide to weigh more. If you lose weight by eating less food than you're willing to subsist on forever, you're wasting your time. As soon you start eating more calories, you'll start gaining weight.

I'm going to try this this week. I'm eating a LOT of no point foods that must be adding up to some points. I need to try something new where I don't play games and don't feel deprived. thanks for the boost.

Can anyone walk on past the taster ladies??? There's one at our Costco that is an Honery-Cow! She gets all crazy if kids approach without parents (not mine of course) but I see this drama everytime we go.

Taster Ladies are evil with their semi frozen creme puffs and Don Jose burritos cut with scissors. I SO want to be a taster lady when I'm 70.

Screeeeech! You bought size 10????? (didn't have to mention the stretchiness, dork) YAY!!!!!!   <Calvin Klein capris smilie

You ARE da bomb! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the cheer. One of the taster ladies used to live behind us before we moved to this house. I emphasize behind because she has the same build I had before I lost most of my weight. As I took the meatball soaked in BBQ sauce from her, a little voice said, "Don't lose control, or you could be right back there."

I'm thinking about going back to school. My niche is the beauty industry (I have a cosmetology lic) but I really want to do esthetics (facials, waxing, cosmetics, pampering) in a spa! so exciting! DH and I went to Calistoga in November, and I looked up a friend from high school who is working as an esthetician at one of the spas. She had a beautiful little cabin to work from. It seemed miles away from the rest of the world. So peaceful. What a wonderful way to make a living, and I know that she does a lot of work with women recuperating from cancer.
On the other hand, I saw in our News of the Weird in the paper that the police just caught a guy who was getting massages and mani-pedis and skipping out on the bill. One of the victims said he made her touch his gross feet and then didn't even tip her. So you better get their credit card number on the way in.

Sorry about DH's current sitch. Hope the job change all works out great.

Hi Peeps! I'm back!
Yea! Glad you're back - and glad you had a great time - looking forward to hearing about it.

I can't remember if I said, but I did do the sit up challenge Friday night! 150 situps. Thanks UM - great idea!

Hey, I'm a taster lady!! :rotfl2: Go to the Budget board and go thru the steps to the how to make $70 a day for disney - I signed up - and worked a few weekends...

Its just too hard to work all week in a school and then stand on my feet for 8 hours - usually dh has a scout meeting, and dd would be left alone - but I did tastes of Philly Cheesecake, wine, cereal, ice cream, yogurt, and dogfood!!

I'm thinking about journaling here at the dis... I have so much running thru my head - and I ramble a lot here...

Well, I yelled at dh about the GPS (more of a whine, but yell sounds better11 :rotfl2: ) and he reset it, I put my crocs on and did my route again - its 1.5 miles - and I walked it at 3.3 (dh calls that my shopping pace1 :rotfl2: ) and ran about 5.0 (between 4.3 and 6.1 I wasnt staring at it when I ran the loop in crocs!!) and I completed the walk in 26 min, the run I think It was still 20 min ( I do a run/walk pace)

so I did a 5K today in about 1 HOUR!! :cool1:

:woohoo:

Stacey giving you a shout out - hope you sneak in from time to time - take care of yourself!

UMA did you make a list of the competitors for the sept challenge yet?? Did you decide what we should put up as a prize??

:dance3:

Back from the ball park. Hot dog stand successfully avoided. :thumbsup2
