All right, I think I need to start having kids just so I can understand what the heck you guys are talking about! My Chemical Romance? That's a band, I'm assuming? And this Dane Cook guy. Is he the one who does those "There's only one October" baseball playoffs commercials? I think I've seen him before, and didn't really understand why he was supposed to be funny. But I guess it is the same as Carlos Mencia. I just don't get him, either. Give me Bill Cosby any day of the week. But that's just me.

That's him. And I'm a HUGE Robin Williams fan. Cosby is pretty funny too.

I have no idea who Dane Cook is or Chemical Romance! I am totally clueless. As for comediens, give me Robin Williams or Cosby anyday. I like them both.

Thought I'd show you what I've been working on...

I made this quilt for my Grandson! Now that the top is done, I just have to figure out how to put it together & bind it! :hippie:

WOW!!!! How long did it take you to do that?

I am clueless too, so we can start a "clueless club". Actually I am usually clueless all the time! :confused3

How nice is that! ? :thumbsup2 I don't think i have the patience to quilt.
I have started knitting again, i'm actually making a shawl that has an actual pattern  ..so we'll see if i carry it through to finality...
You apparently are someone that does finish projects though, KUDOS! :goodvibes

SO i just had to notice that in 1.4 more pounds i will be "allowed" to treat myself to that new Vera Bradley bag I have wanted. ( i dont' know if any of you remember the deal i made with myself, if i lose 10 lbs i get a new bag?)...well i really want that bag since the one i have now is so off season..so i better double up the water and the work out and see if i can earn it this week..lol ;)

Absolutely gorgeous. My mom made a quilt for my DS when he was 1 and now he's 26 and still loves his quilt. Me, I have no talent.

ooops, sorry to thread hog (oink) but I have to share a diet DOOM I turned into a success.

Yesterday I was really hungry at noon so I cooked a Marie Callender's Chicken Pot Pie. After eating it, I went to throw away the packaging and noticed the calories for this 4" pie were 640! :scared1: CRAPPPPP! What's sad is I almost made TWO because I was still sort of hungry. :scared:

So for dinner I ate fresh steamed veggies with spray "s'not butter" and some Mrs. Dash.

:cheer2:

I love chicken pot pies so I need to think of a way to make them more diet-y. Like fat free cream of __ soup with veggies and chicken baked into a Phyllo dough shell? Hmmm

way to go, UM!!! :thumbsup2

FallOut Boy ROCKS!

(does it surprise you this housewife from Utah LOVES Fallout boy and My Chemical Romance?????)

those are hilarious! :lmao: also into cats.....:rotfl2:

i tried to get into another of the bands that i term bands-that-have-really-long-song-titles-that-don't-make-any-sense - panic! at the disco. i love their CD but then i saw them live and they were HORRIBLE!!! if you can't bring it live, you don't deserve my money or my attention. :snooty:

Ahh...and one of my favoritest Dane skits:

"I don't like it when my juice wears tights. Don't touch me you drink. Don't touch me you giant beverage. You are sweating, or condensating. I will kick you in the tights and you will go down; you are very top-heavy."

:rotfl:

:rotfl2: love that one, too! check this out if you wanna know what she's referring to. warning - HARSH LANGUAGE IS CONTAINED IN THIS SKIT!

Dawn, did your husband get a phone call from octimis prime. My DS26 found the website where you could arrange to have "him" call through a cell phone download. It would go "Ray, this is octimis prime, we are contacting you......because your wife, Dawn, has joined up with megatron.......

 how cool!!!!! i just googled it and found the website, filled everything out and it said it would e-mail the audio message to him. i didn't see the one through a cell phone. oh, well! it was still pretty cool!

All right, I think I need to start having kids just so I can understand what the heck you guys are talking about! My Chemical Romance? That's a band, I'm assuming? And this Dane Cook guy. i don't have kids, either! i have younger siblings though and they recommend stuff to me sometimes. i hate those dane cook ads! i don't like carlos mencia because he steals other people's stuff. joe rogan (host of "fear factor") called him out on it. i love old bill cosby and eddie murphy.....so funny! and robin williams is awesome too.....reminds me of my dad!

Dane Cook - haven't seen his stand-up yet, but I would like to check it out. Have seen Employee of the Month, which he was in, and thought it was funny! :thumbsup2

you've gotta hear his stand up. he can get pretty racy at times but he's still funny. and he's a horrible actor compared to his stand up stuff!

Thought I'd show you what I've been working on...

that's so pretty! how very crafty you are. i am so not crafty.....i admire that!

I'm hungry... really hungry....

then I remember, I didnt eat lunch!! *duh... and I watched food network, Paula Dean made country fried steak - and biscuits - and gravy - I WANT IT!! (see uma you can have your frozen pot pies... I want homemade biscuits... and anything fried!! but I'll settle for that Halloween candy hiding under the table)

must eat food...

Thanks for the suggestion of the frozen gummies!! :thumbsup2 I called my moms to confirm they're bringing what they emailed... "oh, you wanted me to do the games?" I said "well you emailed that Quin really wanted to do those 3 games..." "well if you're sure you want me to.."

OK people, if you dont want to, come to a meeting, we'll brainstorm, or if we have a virtual meeting and you VOLUNTEER to do games, bring food - DO IT!!

<rant over>

Sandy--I don't know how you can stand to watch the Food Network while trying to count calories, especially Paula Dean. Yesterday, you had me salivating over fried meatloaf and now I'm wanting some fried chicken....

Hey Peeps,

What a long day! I can't wait to change, and watch an all new Ghost Hunters at 9. Today I was going on and on about the show with the receptionist at my office. I must have sounded like such a geek, but then she went on to tell me how she swears she saw the ghost of her late husband and that she likes that kind of stuff. It's bad when I know the lingo and the more famous "haunted" places in the U.S.

Anywho, I think I have a cavity. Stupid teeth. I was just there in July for a huge round of x-rays and to have a filling replaced. And he said I had no cavities. But this feels like a cavity. I guess. I've never actually "felt" my cavities before. But it aches a little...off and on. And I can see a small black speck on top of my tooth. I'll probably call tomorrow or Friday and make an appt. Man I hate the dentist. But I'm trying to be brave and I'm saying to myself that I should get it done now while it is (hopefully) small and minor instead of having to get more serious work done later on. I just hate hate hate it there.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! It's hump day!

I love your quilt.

My neighbor quilts and she made Malorie the prettiest quilt.

We need to go out any pick out the material for Madelyn's. I'm thinking purple and greens.

OK, I'm finally uploading my videos from the concert the other night, and I've never tried to post a video before, so I hope you guys don't mind being guinea pigs. Here's a little snippet of Fall Out Boy doing a cover of Mr. Brightside by The Killers. (Love that song!) The sound didn't come out that great, but it's from a point and shoot, so what can ya do? They sounded much better in person. But I was pretty impressed with what that tiny camera is capable of.

And here's a pic of my friend and I before the show started...

And a shot of the crowd towards the end of the show, when the band encouraged everyone to move down towards the stage.

thanks for the video and the pictures.....you look like you had fun! and i absolutely  the killers!!!! one of my top 10 bands. brandon flowers is the only boy in my opinion who can look hot in eyeliner! that's one band i want to see live sooooooo bad and i've never gotten to. my sister saw them once and called me during "mr. brightside" and i was jumping around my kitchen by myself at 1:00 a.m. singing "mr. brightside" with brandon flowers over the phone! :rotfl2:

i had pasta milano for dinner and it was soooooo good. i used whole wheat pasta and just a touch of olive oil. the rest of it isn't too bad - almonds, tomatoes, spinach, italian seasoning and a touch of parmesan cheese. so yummy!

I love The Killers too! :) I just  Mr. Brightside! I would have been jumping around the kitchen too, if I were you. When Pete announced the song, he said they were going to do a cover of a song they wished they had written first. Then he said it's about a guy named Mr. Brightside. I started jumping up and down! ;)

Your dinner sounds YUMMY! Do you have a recipe?

Your dinner sounds YUMMY! Do you have a recipe?

not really. i just sort of throw it together. it's hard to find whole wheat fettucine so i usually use spaghetti instead. i boil that and while that's boiling i put a little bit of olive oil (EVOO!!!!!) into a skillet and heat it up, then add almonds to get those kinda warmed up. i add italian seasoning (and sometimes a little garlic salt) to that. then i add in cherry or grape tomatoes, depending on what i have in the fridge. then when the pasta is done i drain it and add it to the olive oil pan, then add in the spinach because it doesn't really need to cook....just warm up a little and get coated with the olive oil and seasoning. then i grate some fresh parm over it and there you have it! it's good with grilled chicken or shrimp added in, too! i don't really measure anything.....just sort of eyeball it. be careful on the olive oil. a little goes a long way and if you use too much the calorie count goes WAYYYYYY up.

I won't ":see" you all for a few days. I leave for a retreat tomorrow afternoon and don't get back till Sunday night. Have a great weigh-in and a great weekend. If you are of the praying persuasion, please pray for me. I haven't been on a retreat I wasn't leading for 23 years.
Love you all!

I think I have a reduced cal recipe for chicken pot pie. Remind me when I get back.

Danielle: Enjoy your retreat! Relax! I started reading your TR's. I know sooo behind in my friends lives. I'll catch up.

Punkin: That's sounds yummy and that's just how I cook. Eyeball it!:magnify:

When I make chicken pot pie I use fat reduced Bisquick.

I take what ever vegetables and meat I am in the mood for and cook it up in a skillet. Meat first, cubed, then veggies. I then layer that in a casserole pan. I add the cream of chicken/mushroon/celery soup. I get the store brand that's 98% fat free. Then according to the box, I mix up the bisquick mix. Usually it's two cups mix and I add water until it's smooth like. Pour over the caserole dish contents and bake in over until golden brown.

I also add pepper to taste over the soup and veggies.

Well DH got a job offer in the company. Remember when I ranted about the recontructuring going on? Well, he had new bosses come down to his hub yesterday and one of them said we want you with us. What would it take to get you to come over. They are part of the company they bought out.

This would require a move. Bay City. It's 2 hours north of us. Lots to think about. Lots. So much going on. My head hurts. He's stressing big time.

I've watched homes sit empty here on my street for sale for 2-3 years. The housing market is just terrible here in Michigan. New contruction homes are for sale all over the place. No one can get a fair price for homes. My BIL is a realestate agent and he says he's watched so many people take unbelievable losses on sales.

I don't know if there will be any other offers for him. This would be a good thing if the move is worth while. I know we need to find out if there is a relocation package. He wants to make enough so I don't have to work and I can concentrate on finishing school.

My kids leaving their friends:eek: ..........new doctors:eek: .........my family 2 hours away:scared1: ......my business:eek: .............selling the house:eek: ..........the loan we just took out:scared1: :scared1: ..........the actuall move:confused: ............:faint:

Please pray that we make the right choices and things work out for us.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

I'm feel so old. I know DD knows all the bands of which you speak (and I know she has some of the CDs) but I'm afraid I know nothing. :confused3 I did look at the FOB videos and well....just not for me....sadly.

Here's a fun, corny video for Gayle (and Danielle and Sandy....my sisters of the late 70's/early 80's)

Gayle....BEAUTIFUL QUILT! I looovvvvvee the colors! Where do you find the time?

Monica
....Big decisions! I'll be praying for wisdom for you in these matters.

Lynda
....Love the pics! Good job on the video...really! Did you have your portable tripod? (Josh)

Pakey....DId you ask me about Fiber bars? I eat the Fiber One cereal with 2 T of flax seed meal every day. (17 gr. fiber) Good and good for ya. I think someone else said they eat the bars. (9gr fiber) They are too expensive-ish for me.

Gots to get in the shower! Love you guys!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

 no advice....just a hug! you guys will do what's best for you i'm sure. the housing market is horrible in georgia, too!

Here's a fun, corny video for Gayle (and Danielle and Sandy....my sisters of the late 70's/early 80's)

i  that you posted this! i was raised on this type of music. my mom and dad split up when i was 4 and mom didn't get remarried until i was almost 10. so for a few years me and mom were alone together a lot and i have fond memories of dancing in the living room to songs like "you dropped the bomb on me" with my mom! she was still pretty young (22 when she had me) so she was still really into the "happening" music for that time (1980-ish). thanks for taking me back, melinda! :thumbsup2

TGM came out with least crowded park days for april 15 - 30 today!!! :woohoo:

Morning all! :wave2: Not much to say this morning. Just popping in to say hi! Hope everyone has a good day, and don't forget to drink plenty of water and get in one last good workout :yay: before weigh-in tomorrow morning!
