DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Good afternoon all. It has been hit or miss around here with me getting on the computer. We have to be at the hospital every a.m. for Rebakah's lab work. We are under a bili blanket, but the numbers are not coming down quick enough. We should here something this afternoon from the Dr. and hopefully the numbers will look better. Other than that she is a princess: She is just wonderful. Joshua is having a hard time adjusting, but I think he is coming along a little.

Since last Sunday I have lost a grand total--insert drum roll here: 19 pounds. I have 11 to go to get to pre preggo weight and then another 15 to go before I will actually like what I weigh.

I have another prayer request--I know that I ask you guys to pray for a lot of different things--but I have waited on this one until I had more information. On Monday while I was still in the hospital we got a call that a good frined was rushed to the ER and they did a cat scan and found a brain tumor. They sent her to a specialist that day and he was going to do surgery on THurs. a.m. Well the next morning her DH could not wake her--the tumor had started leaking and she might of even had a mini stroke. They rusehd her to surgery and were able to get the tumor out. She is still on the vent. and in ICU. She has her good days and bad. When her DH comes into the room she follows him with her eyes and can respond at times. When they mention the kids she cries. She has a 4 year old and a 1 year old. They did find out the tumnor was cancer, but are still waiting on the path report to determine what kind and such. Once she is doing better then they will start radiation. Of course this is just a quick report on what is going on and GOD has already moved in many ways for this situation. We are asking for all believers to come together and pray for this woman--her name is Christi. Thank you for prayng for her.

Rebekah is waking up so I better go.

I will be praying for Christi daily. My grandmother had a malignant brain tumor. There are several different kinds of brain cancer. I'll be praying that it's a "good" kind and complete healing will come quickly.

i will be thinking of/praying for your friend. ray was having unexplained headaches a few years ago and had to have a CAT scan of his head. such scary stuff! i turned out to be nothing, but i know what a scary feeling that is!

wow....congrats on the weight loss! 11 pounds to pre-preggo weight is so awesome!!!

what's a bili blanket?

peeps - have any of you stayed at the WL? i posted a couple of questions about it over on the resort board last night and no one has responded, so i thought i'd ask here. i'll wait to see if anyone responds before i post my questions about it.

It is a rectangular wand that is bendable--the inside of it has an LED light ---I put Rebekah only in a diaper and wrap this around her. It goes around her tummy and chest. She wears this all day and night. It gives her photolight therapy--if I understand everything. Her eyes and skin are still yellow, but it is improving. We call her our Little Glow Worm.

I have! Stayed there in January. I liked it but there were things I didn't care for. I'll be more specific when I know what you're curious about. :goodvibes

I will happily say a prayer for your friend. I had a high school classmate who was diagnosed with a very severe type of brain cancer which is generally unsurvivable. Long story short . . she beat it and is doing great. Hope your friend will do as well.

Delivering is a great diet plan. ;) :rotfl:

How awful for Christi and her DH. I'll be praying for them.

You ought to pm Lesley, she and Tim and the kids have stayed there before, and it is their favorite place. I have seen you post on her TR, so hopefully, you know which Lesley I am talking about. :rotfl:

Sandy - I meant to tell you CONGRATULATIONS on the 6 lb loss. That is awesome considering you just spent time in Disney. Sorry about the bug infestation.

Gotta go. I am packing for the beach. We leave tomorrow for a few days. We are going to Destin for Fall Break. :cool1:

here are my questions (i just copied this from the thread i started):

DH and i are going back to WDW for our anniversary next april. we rented DVC points for 5 nights at SSR. i want to surprise DH by adding 1 night at WL because i think he'd just LOVE this resort! i have an AP so i'm thinking i can get the room for around $200. anyway, is 1 night at WL even worth it? we would be checking in on a friday morning and i have our day planned that day where we won't be doing anything except enjoying the resort and having pool time and eating lunch at the resort. then we'll head to MK for our last night at WDW. let me know if you guys think it's worth 1 night or if it's just a waste of money because we couldn't take it all in in that amount of time.

also, a couple of specific questions:

1. for lunch do you suggest WCC or roaring forks? we don't want to waste a lot of time eating, but we want something decent, too.

2. if we want to sleep in the next day, what sort of room do you suggest?

thanks for your help!!!

i actually already did that....great minds think alike! she posted a reply to my thread.

wow......whata bad day! glad you guys found a laptop for a reasonable price. hopefully they can plug your DH's tire. i think everyone does a little cheating when they're stressed out...myself included.

Thanks!! The support means a lot.

I also found 2 tires on craigslist for $30 each, so if we have to replace it, it won't be the end of the world.

I am a lapsed believer but your friend will be in my thoughts.

We stayed at WL in May (in the villas) and I honestly didn't expect to like it much. However, I LOVED it!! I am not really a lodge person, but I thought it was a very, very nice resort. I loved the boat to MK, being able to watch the water parade, and just the overall feel of the resort. The main pool is pretty but can get a bit crowded... I recommend checking out the villa pool. It has geyser jets and a huge hot tub and I actually preferred it to the main pool.

WCC is fun but a bit, well, rowdy. Not sure Ray would like it much, they can pick on people and make a big scene. The meat skillet lunch is to die for, though, and we have had pretty good luck with giving the wait staff the impression that hijinks weren't our thing.

Roaring Forks is a better option for lunch IMO, they had some really good sandwiches. One of the better CS lunches we have had.

I can't advise as to room type, as we did the villa...

HTH!

Your friend has my prayers too! I know firsthand how horribly scary the "c" word is. The first week after my diagnosis was the absolute worst for both my husband and myself because everyone has a horror story regarding cancer. With your friend having such young children, this must be so frightening. I was so afraid I was going to die and leave my son motherless and he is 26. Cancer treatment has come so far in this past decade so there's always reason to hope. I will say a prayer for her every evening when I'm taking my medication that is supposedly training my body to forget how to make cancer cells. That's when I remember how grateful I am to still be alive.

i have a weird question. i know one of you guys gave me my bouncy mickey head pumpkin thingy and i can't remember who! if it was you, PM me to let me know. i recently changed my signature to add my new (very premature, but totally necessary IMO) pre-TR link (hint, hint) and i want to add a thank-you next to the little guy. ;)

Ok well, keep in mind that our trip was very short as well...checked in Friday night around 6 and checked out sunday around 10 for home. And this was back in January when my wisdom teeth were giving me tons of problems so I was a basketcase (remember, dentist-phobia) between the pain and thinking about having them removed. Anyway, I liked the WL and would stay there again...the location is pretty nice and the resort is beautiful. My mom would not stay choose to stay there again (although she would, just not 1st choice) and I'm not really sure why. I know both of us were not impressed with Roaring Forks. It is small and does not have many options. And I thought the rooms were teeny tiny for a deluxe. I expected them to be smaller than some of the other deluxes I've been in, like the giant rooms at the Poly or Contemporary, but they were small. Like Port Orleans small. Maybe it is the 2 queen beds in a moderate-resort sized room? I don't know. Again, not a huge deal but something that I didn't expect so I didn't like it. I didn't use the bus transportation...only went to MK and we took the boat which was great. No issues with that. We did Whispering Canyon for breakfast which was decent but not overly fantastic...I'd give it a 2nd try though. So no opinion on lunch food. If time is an issue I'd say you'd be out of there in an hour. And I think allearsnet.com has menus of Roaring Forks to give you an idea of the food they have. I only remember the grill area which is the typical burgers, fries and chicken strips. Our room was a courtyard view which apparently is the most expensive view. We totally got jipped though because our balcony was the privacy kind and on the top floor. Sitting and enjoying the view didn't really work...you had to stand. We overlooked the DVC club pool. We also had issues finding our room at night. We would take a different elevator everytime and got lost everytime. Which usually is not an issue for me. Again, my fault not theirs but it was annoying

Ok so I guess I made it sound that I really didn't like the WL. I did but I'm not dying to stay there again. If you think your DH would really really enjoy it though, try it! I really have never heard anyone say anything bad about the resort and even the not so nice experiences I had weren't that bad, just annoyances.

I probably didn't help but I tried! ;)

Shannon, you inspired me to go look up the Roaring Fork menu to remember what I had that was so good! I had the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese on Focaccia sandwich and it was wonderful. The Smoked Turkey and Brie looked good too.

I don't remember RF being small or crowded but I think we ate late (like after 2PM) so that could be why.

I do remember DH saying that the regular rooms there are small compared to other deluxes. I wonder if they have king rooms? I find for couples w/out kids, that sometimes it is worth the upgrade, esp at moderates, just to not have to deal with space that the extra bed occupies. That was one of the reasons we did DVC, to have the queen + sofa in the studio, but then we stayed in a 1-bed and got spoiled...

Hi Peeps...another pixie dust request.

1) My cousin down here is having fibroid tumors removed tomorrow in an outpatient surgery. They are very big and the Dr said that it is the equivalent of being 5 months pregnant. She is also recovering from alcoholism and drug abuse (pain pills and such). She has relapsed a few in the past and for about 2 years been doing really well. But she will have some pain medicine while in the hospital that her counselors are concerned will make her want more and trigger a relapse. I really don't think this will happen but they do. Please send PD and prayers that she goes through the surgery well, has a good recovery, and does not have any relapse.

2) While hanging out with my DB this weekend he asked me my "expert opinion" on some voice and throat issues he has been having. He just started some kind of ner workout regime that is chinese or japanese that involves holding a bag to your chest while someone kicks you :confused3 It starts with an "M". Anyway since then his throat, like around his adam's apple, has been sore even to touch it with his hands. Then the other day it started to hurt when he swallowed. It started to feel better, but then he was eating pizza and he felt like he couldn't even swallow at all. And when I saw him his voice was a little raspy and hoarse. So all that started to freak him out...he asked me if I thought it was the "C" word (cancer). I told him he should definitely go to a doctor and that I also thought it was probably muscle strain from clenching his throat and neck doing all these weird exercises since it started right after that. He doesn't want to stop the exercise class (men  ). Anyway, please send him some prayers and PD that it turns out to be nothing serious.

Thanks for your help peeps! I'm so not in the mood to go to work or class tomorrow. At least my weekend was relaxing. Hope all of yours were too! :cutie:

These sound like the same sandwiches we had at SS last month. Both were good but the roast beef & blue cheese was by favorite. Nice sandwich and very filling.
