Gosh getting online today has been hit or miss!!

Please send me Brett and Ryan's addy :thumbsup2 I love getting postcards autographed - that way if dd wont stand in line, I have an excuse!! :rotfl2:

oh... my exercise mantra >

Diet and Exercise is not a punishment for getting fat, but a REWARD for getting healthy!

somehow I have injured my "suck it in" muscle - I wasnt sure at first, then I thought maybe its a hernia, but if I rub my middle, no, its just sore!! I may have pushed too hard thru a stitch while running/walking... :confused3

but I told dh my suck it in muscle is broken!! He wanted to take me to the doctor!!!

where'd my post go?

I wanted to edit it - Joshua is adorable...

That IS a tough choice! I love both Candlelight Processional and Osbourne Lights. (I am SO going to miss them this year! :sad1: ) What if you went to the first showing of Candlelight Processional and then headed over to MGM for Osbourne Lights? ;)

Brilliant idea Lynda! I'll definitely think about that.

He had just said please to get in the water.

We were looking for shells before sunset--he liked the crabs more.

My future surfer---the bigger kids had boogie boards and he had his nemo kickboard.

He is ADORABLE!!!!! :groom:

Oh dear. I was 184.6 today, which is slightly less than a pound down from last week. I can't say my eating has been good at all (let's be honest) but my exercise is going really well. I could use more weight training. And...I haven't been drinking my water. So my goals for this week are:

Weight train 2x
Drink 64 oz water daily
Try not to be a big sow when it comes to food!

(It's general, but it will do!)

I'm JEALOUS of everyone preparing to leave for WDW but it will be my turn soon enough...besides, I have a lot of weight to lose/health to gain before we leave! Congrats to Lynda for her excellent weight loss!

Have a fantastic weekend, all!

if you increase your weight training, be sure to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. so when you're building more muscle, your weight may not go down as fast as you'd like. but remember that you ARE losing fat......the number really isn't that important as long as you're doing the right things! just be sure to throw in a little cardio every now and then. i love weight training, but hate cardio. and with my build i NEED more cardio than weight training. i'm "thick" on the bottom, so i don't need to bulk up any more in that area. one way to do both at the same time is to do a lighter weight then you normally would, but more reps and at a quicker pace. it increases your heart rate as cardio would while also building that muscle up!

Heather Joshua is adoeable!:goodvibes

Congrats on everyone's weight loss! I hope to be able to post one next week.

Finally able to get on. It's been a crazy week, and the times I've been able to get on, the DIS has been down.

Yay. I'm down 2 this week. I know some folks on here say only 2, but that is about the most I ever lose in a week. I've been trying to squeeze in some kind of exercise every day this week, even though it's been crazy.

We went to our church festival tonight (actually it's our old church; we switched a few months ago). I had a big bean burrito and a margarita, but I planned to burn it off dancing. DH was in pain, though, and I had a headache that even the margarita couldn't knock out, so we danced for only about 40 minutes. Let's hope I didn't put the 2 lbs. back on.

I love seeing the kids' pics on here. Y'all have such radiant, beautiful children.

Wendy! I'm sorry I'm late wishing you a happy birthday. Here's something I just read in More magazine (for 40 somethings); "if 40 is the new 30, then let's make cellulite the new tattoo". I like it! Is that a butterfly on your hip? No it's stretch marks from the summer I hit 220.:butterfly
Anyway, I'm rambling. Hope you had a great day, thread Mama, and hope all are doing well.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

OK....so....yesterday was eventful. I got a call from DD's principal at the middle school and she fell down the steps at school. She hurt her back which scared me. I got there and she was surrounded by teachers, had an ice pack on each arm, and her face was covered in mascara from the crying.

She shuffled out to the car and I took her to the UTC. The dr. determined it was her shoulder that was injured so she took an x-ray and couldn't determine if there was a break due to growth plates not being fused so they had to x-ray the healthy shoulder too. Anyway...she's still not sure and would like us to go to the orthopedist on Monday to have him look at the films. She's in a sling for the weekend.

BTW....says she's not wearing any sling at Disney no matter what's wrong with her.

HEATHER.....Joshua is adorable!!! I hope his lil sweet self had a happy birthday. I miss my lil man being that age. I would be happy to send postcards to Ryan and Brett! :)

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE LOSERS! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Got lots of laundry to do today in preparation for the big trip!

EVERYBODY HAVE A GOOD DAY!

 you had a margarita at a church festival? you can tell you're from california! the southern baptist churches in this area would NEVER allow alcohol (not even wine) at ANY church event......it's evil!!!! (just a little joke.)

 how awful and scary! i hope everything turns out to be not too terribly serious. i fell down the stairs in middle school, too. but i just had a really sore tailbone....like so sore that i cried on the bus ride home from school. still...nothing like your DD. why do things like this always happen right before a disney trip??? ;)

i'm going to the mall today to shop for a lingerie gift for anna, bachelorette party stuff and a new outfit for me to wear to the bach. party. it's not for two weeks, but since i'll be in disney next weekend i figured i should go ahead and take care of it today. besides...it's an excuse to go shopping. and i may just have to make a pitstop at the disney store. :rolleyes1

i'm actually not a baptist. i was raised church of christ but now i go to a non-denominational church (let's be honest - when i go! :guilty: ). but they were still strict with the alcohol thing. i remember when o'charley's first opened up in my hometown and my great uncle (one of the church leaders) went to eat there - he said he was never going back because they served liquor. when my grandpa (his little brother) heard that, he said (in front of everyone), "that doesn't make any sense. you used to get so drunk i'd have to carry you home!" :lmao: i love my grandpa.

I was raised church of christ too, and when I go, I still go there. I was trying to go more often, but this summer has been so crazy, and I haven't been since May, I think! I need to go back.

And that is hilarious about your grandpa saying that! :rotfl:

Hi Peeps!

I know it's been a loooong time since I've last posted. Between computer issues and not doing well on my dieting (too embarrassed), I just have not been posting.

However, I'm thankful to say that I'm on the upswing. The last two weeks I have been calorie counting & keeping a regular journal along with 30 minutes on the treadmill 6 days a week, and I have managed to lose 3.9 lbs. My best friend and I have been doing the same thing and trying to support each other with phone call weigh-ins (she lives in Alabama) and I think that's helped keep both of us on track.

Congrats to everyone who have had a weight loss this week, and hang in there to all who have been struggling(I know the feeling very well! I just want to say as a word of advice, that once I got on my treadmill and stuck to it the first week, by the end of the week I was getting that feeling of empowerment back. Keep thinking positive thoughts & get those endorphines going!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Scary! Hope nothing is broken and that she feels much better soon

Today is supposed to be "Cleaning and (Fall) Decorating Day" in my house. But I might have slept until 10am (ok, I like to sleep and I went to bed at 1), and I have no idea where to begin. Oh and my mom is out getting her hair did. Time to get productive...Happy Saturday!

Melinda, I hope your dd is ok! That is so scary, phone calls from the principal! I got one of those 2 years ago and all they said was that ds was ok, but I need to get to the school asap! Scared the crap out of me!

Hey I grew up church of christ and still attend. In fact, I am a sunday school teacher, and a preschool teacher at my church.

Punkin, that is so funny about your grandpa! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Melinda - How scary about your DD. That is a phone call that all parents dread. I know she will be determined to be "just fine" for Disney.

I hope everyone is having a skinny day! :thumbsup2

Hope that all is well when you go to the ortho. When my DS got hurt at school they never called, boy was I mad. He had a black eye for about 2 weeks.
