Despite my best efforts this week, I am a Samer... I think last week's, shall we say, "food indiscretions" are coming back to bite me in the behind. I am really beginning to believe in the whole "work this week for next weeks weightloss phenomenon." Next week should be pretty though!
Will do! Thanks... BTW: Hope you have a better (not so hormonal day today).
It is a fairly nice area and terribly expensive. I don't think I'd be able to afford to live there if work wasn't paying the bills. Def couldn't buy a house...
I had jury duty earlier this year. Never made it on a trial -- just went and sat in the jury room for 4-6 hours one day every other week. Advice: take a book or two!
I had a coupon for 2 Kashi meals, plus a "triple any coupon" coupon from the grocery, and they were on sale... think I ended up paying about $2 a piece. Otherwise, I'd of never tried them. Way too pricy! Although now that I know they are good, filling, and full of healthy stuff, I may be willing to buy with only a coupon or if sale...
Alexandria is great, but like most areas around DC there is a crime problem. In fact, I was looking online for apartments yesterday and found a really great complex just outside of old town. Did some more research and found out that it is right smack dab in the middle of a REALLY bad part of town. One guy reported (on apartment ratings board, take with grain of salt) that he was robbed AT GUN POINT in the inner court yard of the complex and that the police that responded said that happened there 2-3 times per week.
With having the dog, I need some place where I can feel safe outside after dark. (She is going to have to learn that going outside for "potty" breaks at 2 a.m. is no longer acceptable. Most of the time I think she doesn't really "have to, have to" go, she just wants out for the entertainment value of seeing me stumble down the stairs in the dark while half awake. However she knows that if our little early morning trips to the great out doors aren't "productive," then she can march her little self right into the crate for the rest of the night. "Mommy don't mess around." When she was a pup, she got me up a couple of nights just to play, so I sent her to the crate. Cured her fast -- she loves to sleep in the bed...). But anyhoo -- I'm just asking around for ideas...
Have a great day all! Congrats to the "BIG LOSERS"!!
MJ - sorry I know nothing about that area!! (you could always post on the community board - more hits there!)

MJ, my brother lives in Alexandria. All I really know about it is that it is really, really $$$. Nice area though, from what I have seen while visiting.

Went for my jury duty briefing yesterday. Did I mention jury duty? I was excused for the last week of Sept. but I neglected to ask for Friday, Sept. 21st off since that's the day we are departing. I'll have to call the office on Tuesday and get that taken care of.

MJ...I"ve wanted to try the Kashi meals but they are a little pricey for me. Glad to hear they are worth it. Maybe I'll give them a go if they go on sale. RE: Alexandria...We had some friends who lived one block from the metro station in Alexandria and really if you want to travel it's good to be near the metro...safe, clean etc. which you probably already know since you live near-ish. Our friends were just one stop from Old Town and it was great! We did see someone having her purse stolen in Old Town. Be careful!
