Hey everyone! just checking in anticipation of tomorrow's weigh in. I'm a little nervous about it seeing as I was emotionally eating basically all week from back to school/moving jitters.:guilty: But I've hopefully counteracted that with all the walking I've been doing lately. I'll find out tomorrow!:hourglass Anyway I hope everyone is doing great!:goodvibes

The Ohanas dinner came out awesome!!!!!!! Everything was right on. The only thing a tad different was the shrimp. I couldn't find sweet chili paste so had to double up on spicey. (supposed to be an even mix of the two) Otherwise...perfect! DH was super impressed and said it makes up for me going without him next month.

Well! Today I am ONE pound under my day one weight. WoooHooo.

I'm bloated. I'm retaining massive water, like 40 pounds of water. :sad2:

:rolleyes1 Luckily it's NOT friday today!

I was always told, even when bloated, drink more water to get rid of water.

The Sci Fi channel has Ghost Hunters on. Three in a row! I love this show.

Love spooky stuff.

Don't feel too bad...I am five lbs over my starting weight...:sad2:

Hi everybody! Sorry I'm crummy at captioning quotes in my posts but here are some replies anyway:

Harley - sweet ride! You look fantastic to me!

Fidge - Congratulations on your healthy new goals! Stick around - we'll motivate you!

Diane - I have problem feet too (a slightly more complicated form of flat feet), but it helps when I wear New Balance shoes with Superfeet insoles (the insoles can probably be bought online; I get mine at a local hiking outfitters.)

Kat - glad you're feeling better! We love you!

Eventer - I am praying for you and your sweet baby! I miscarried at 11 weeks (my first pregnancy) and worried the whole time with my next two. But they were fine, my pregnancies were uneventful (except for the horrendous amount of time I spent examining the interiors of my toilets!), and all was well.

Dawn - You look like such a fun person! And you look like you're in great shape! Thanks for being so motivating.

Sponge - can you post pics? Although I can't sew a button on a shirt, my husband (He of the Many Talents) can sew at a near-professional level: bridesmaid dresses, quilts, suits, overcoats, etc. I'm sure he'd LOVE to start creating beautiful children's clothing for our next WDW trip!

Utahmama - I've heard drinking water helps when you're bloated, but then you're sloshy AND puffy. (I lived in Provo for a few years and I ALWAYS felt thirsty - must have been the change in climate and altitude. But at least I always drank my water!)

Cheers to everyone!

Don't feel too bad...I am five lbs over my starting weight...:sad2:

i got my new alice crocs today. i love them! they're so petite and cute. i want a pair in every color now! i'll post a pic of them over on my pre-TR when i get a chance.

hope everyone had a great day! i'm off to shower then beddy-bye for this tired girl!

Hi everybody! Sorry I'm crummy at captioning quotes in my posts but here are some replies anyway:

i didn't know about the multi-quote feature for the longest time until someone pointed it out to me. in case you don't know, i thought i'd enlighten you, too! it's the coolest little thing! see that little icon next to the "quote" icon that has a plus sign and a quotation mark? just hit that whenever you want to reply to a post while reading the thread. then when you're ready to post your replies, just hit the "reply" button and all your quotes should be there. nifty stuff! :thumbsup2

Dawn - You look like such a fun person! And you look like you're in great shape! Thanks for being so motivating.

thanks! and it's because of these inspirational girls (and guy) that i'm almost to my goal.....3 pounds to go! then it's time to firm this stuff up!!! i started at 158 and now i'm at 133 and i have my peeps (and my best friend/trainer) to thank for it! :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 Luckily it's NOT friday today!

Drink the 8 oz of WARM Lemon water - and stay near the potty!!

I WORK TOMORROW AND FRIDAY :cool1: Disney MONEY!! :cool1: I'm feeling so very very guilty about spending ANY money - things just get worse and worse with bills, and college, and boys, and wants and needs... I'm having more hot flashes just thinking of it!! (stress brings mine on apparently!!) Its ridiculous how much I'm suffering from them!! $150 for the tirp!! (that'll pay the taxi to the airport and back!!):cool1:

Aww thanks!

I have flat feet too.. and a bunion/deformed foot from juvenile rheumatoid... I bought Dr Scholls WideWidth gel sneakers at Wal-mart and they make it so I can walk all day at WDW and do great. And they were < $30! They even did great when I was 218, can't wait to try them at 175!

Dawn is definitely in great shape, I have seen some (shh secret) pics! I am jealous but at the same time super-happy for her.

thanks! and it's because of these inspirational girls (and guy) that i'm almost to my goal.....3 pounds to go! then it's time to firm this stuff up!!! i started at 158 and now i'm at 133 and i have my peeps (and my best friend/trainer) to thank for it! :goodvibes

I am hoping that I am firming while losing... I do a lot of weights, but probably not as much as you! I was excited today, leg press was 205 lbs! How much arm weights are you doing? I really concentrate on triceps and back and do okay, but I seem to have trouble adding bicep and chect weights. My legs and hips are fairly fat-free now but my arms and abs are still flabby.

I have thought a lot about this, and I think my strategy for the WDW trip is to ramp up to the vacation by slowing coming off my really strict diet, do what I want when I am there, and then go back to strict. I am going to continue to exercise up until 2 days before we leave. I am feeling a lot better about it and I think things are smoother at home now. Thanks to everyone for listening to me rant!

The worst part about it is the small sabotagy things, like just this one won't hurt, and why are you worrying about 40 calories now when in 2 weeks you will be eating WAY more than that... and when I say that is EXACTLY why I am worrying now, and I get scoffed at. Sigh. We just don't agree on weight loss strategies and he doesn't want to really think about the effect that food and drink have on him, and me trying to stay strict to the diet makes him feel bad, so he scoffs to cover his feelings Defense strategy of... ridicule to combat self-loathing. Okay, enough armchair analysis for today!!

Now you guys know WAY more about me than you ever wanted to!!

Thanks so much for all the support and love. It really means a lot.

Hey Kat, the smarty-pants in me would want to say, "Oh good, then can I go on a spending spree now, since we'll be spending a lot on vacation anyway?" It makes the same amount of sense, doesn't it?

I feel for you. DH and I both struggle. It was about 100 degrees today, and we dragged each other to the gym. I don't think either of us would have gone w/o the other.

:cheer2: to Bee and Fidge. Good job on the dating and not smoking, respectively.

 to Eventer and anyone else who needs it. It's too hot to multi-quote. Sorry if I missed someone.

Today was a p***er of a day, literally. A kid wet his pants right by my desk as the morning kinders were leaving the room. Then I had one kid crying on the way in, only to remember she liked school when she got inside. Then there was a kid who cried a big, honking cry and hid under the table for about half an hour. I had to shout over him for the other kids to hear me. The worst of all was a girl who cried for 2 1/2 hours. Long story, but dad is getting her worked up because he wants her in the morning class, but he didn't sign her up until 2 weeks ago, and the morning classes are filled. This is his 4th child in the school, so you'd think he would have signed her up in the spring, when most of the other parents did. Anyway, I came home exhausted, but dragged myself onto the elliptical for 40 minutes while I read Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich. No Ranger or Joe, but NASCAR guy is OK.
I know I had more to say, but brain cells are dying in the heat. Off to drink more water and proofread DD's paper. Goodnight.

You guys I just love you for all your tips and hugs!

I will try warm lemon water in the morning.

I'm really not too pissy about failing again. Just keep slimmin!!!! I have my magic green bracelet on and it helps! Except for the toast I just ate....my stomach was growling. It's the head-hunger and emotional eating (happy, bored, mad, etc) that I've gotten a lot better with.

I love how y'all give real live tips that helped you to help others in need.

Thank Gosh tomorrow's not weigh day! :hourglass

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

Sorry to be so MIA lately but gotta have the boy dressed, lunches made, shower/make up/hair by 8:15 so not much time to DIS in the mornings. Being so close to the time zone line, it stays dark here until nearly 7:00 these days so not all that easy to rise and shine.

Saturday is the only time I can sit here as long as I want and no one is ever here on Saturdays. :sad1:

BEE....Yeehaw on dating again! :cheer2:

KAT...I'm glad you're feeling better. Next time...get some Cold-Eez. Start taking them the day you feel the first sign of a cold coming on. They taste terrible but they really work! My friend tried Airborn and had the same results! ...I know....where was I last week with that info! Also...I'm with MJ...stick to the diet until you arrive in Orlando. I told DD yesterday that she and I would have to split some of the CS lunches...just too much food on the DDP. And I'm a member of the clean plate club like UM...I never waste food!

Punkin
....Your baby brother is so cute! So nice of you to treat him to a concert on his big birthday. I had a bad Jaeger experience once and just the thought of it makes me pukey!

Sandy....YAY for Disney money!!! My DD said she did not see your DD on AIM last night. She was also on VMK. Fidge gave me her son's username so now they can all go to Disney together!

Monica....Uhem! Baby pictures? Let's see her! Now I've got the peepers song stuck in my head too.

Danielle....Sorry about the rough day with the kinders. It takes a strong person to teach the kinders and sort out their various problems in appropriate ways. I could never do it! I really admire you! How is your mom?

RazzBerry....Make sure you get all the junk food out of the house! So if you DO binge it can only be on fruit and salad!

Tara.....I'm with Dawn. Dinner sounds delish and I've never eaten at Ohana's! Was it a big project with lots of special ingrediants?

Harley....You are the most beautiful Harleygirl around, sister! And you look fabulous! Is that in Gatlinburg? Looks like the Smokies. I can't remember...are you going to Disney with Amy??

DISAmy....HAVE FUN AT DISNEY WORLD! TAKE LOTSA PICTURES! Actually get in some of them this time!

Prayers for Fidge
....Who is recovering at home from pneumonia after she busted out of the hospital. She probably feels much worse than she would ever let on when she's here but she's getting better. :flower3:

EVERYBODY HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

I am hoping that I am firming while losing... I do a lot of weights, but probably not as much as you! I was excited today, leg press was 205 lbs! How much arm weights are you doing? I really concentrate on triceps and back and do okay, but I seem to have trouble adding bicep and chect weights. My legs and hips are fairly fat-free now but my arms and abs are still flabby.

i'm just the opposite of you. my arms and stomach area are fine, but my legs aren't in the shape i want them in. i have cottage cheese-like material around my upper thighs and it drives me mad! as far as the amount of weights i do, it's kinda different than just regular weight lifting because anna's classes are to music. we do LOTS of reps because each body part is to one song....so you're lifting the weight on that body part for the entire length of the song, sometimes slow, sometimes fast. so it's less weight than it would be if you were doing, for example, three sets of 12 on the weight room floor. i only do 25 pounds on squats/lunges, 20 pounds on back and biceps and 15 pounds on triceps and chest. if you've ever heard of les mills' body pump classes, it's sorta like that. google "les mills body pump" and you'll see what i'm talking about.

It's too hot to multi-quote.

:lmao:

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

you're so silly! you're always the most up-to-date peep on here!!! no need for apologies at all! :goodvibes

well, i'm off to a deposition. later, peeps! :flower3:

Melinda You do such a great job capping us Peeps chattiness!! I think DD was on around 8ish - but she was on a Harry Potter site - with jokes - she kept repeating them!! I forget her VMK name - I told Fidge I'd pass it along to her son as well!! (as soon as I find out!! :rotfl2: She wanted a variation of Lilly Potter!!)

Danielle ooo thanks for that - I usually ALWAYS turn down Kind and 1st grade subbing in Sept!! I always get criers - and I remember one time ready to jump for joy, no crying, when it was time for the bus, they forgot to tell the sub they changed bus dissmissal times :faint: so quite a few were crying as I was rushing them through a routine that cant be rushed!!

I wonder how many will cry today?

oops meant to edit -

Danielle I told dd your day, she said "wow if someone cried all day here wouldnt they tell the parents he wasnt old enough for Kind. and maybe hold him back a year?" :rotfl2: out of the mouths - so try that tactic with stubborn Dad!!

(or not!! remember *I* dont have a classroom!)

 punkin I saw you snuck in here - I'm just thinking about your pretty ribbon!! How hard all of you worked to get where you're going Kat just take it one day at a time, you are listening to your body, you are NOT going to gain it all back in one vacation where you will be sweating and walking ten miles in the sauna every day!! But I totally get where you are coming from, esp when you dont feel the support at home... Great tip on the shoes!! :thumbsup2 I may have to check those out as well !

Crocs Jealous!! EVERYONE - go to your Hallmark stores and see if they are carrying the Hallmark Croc line - it too is skinnier at the top, and is like a half of a maryjane (no back!!) but its wide enough for my heal - BUT the IL Hallmarks I've been to havent heard of them - IND had them!!! :headache:

Utah HOLD on!! When you get that growly tummy, drink water, do some walking, snap your Peep bracelet - take hoodia - lets get over this hump!!

PEEP CHALLENGE >
1. WALK 30 Min - period, snowstorm, rain, heat, sunshine - WALK!!
2. Drink Water
3. SIT UP STRAIGHT _ KEEP that posture solid!! THINK while you're driving, suck in your tummy, while you are DISing suck in your tummy

I'm starting to see a waistline Peeps - and my shorts/pants arent tight!! The scale hasnt moved!!

.....Diane - I have problem feet too (a slightly more complicated form of flat feet), but it helps when I wear New Balance shoes with Superfeet insoles (the insoles can probably be bought online; I get mine at a local hiking outfitters.)...

Love, Love, LOVE my New Balance shoes! I've never heard of Superfeet insoles, but I'll be looking into these for sure. I have flat and super WIDE feet, but my biggest problem is that I have a spur in my ankle. It only bothers me after fast walking for long distances (as my feet/ankles swell). Hopefully this will get better on it's own (as I lose weight) and not have to be corrected with surgery. When it flares, it is excruciating.

The Sci Fi channel has Ghost Hunters on. Three in a row! I love this show.

Love spooky stuff.

Me too, mony!! I have never found anyone else who likes this show, besides DH, DD & me. DD has been begging me to find her some “scary movies” to watch. She’s only 11, but she can handle some pretty scary stuff for a kid. The problem is it’s just hard to find anything that doesn’t include either too much gore or sexually explicit material, or a combination of both.

i didn't know about the multi-quote feature for the longest time until someone pointed it out to me. in case you don't know, i thought i'd enlighten you, too! .... :goodvibes

And as long as I have been a member of the DISboards, you'd think I'd have figured this out by now. I've been doing it the long way (cut/paste)!! Thank you so much for posting this!!

.....I set clear time boundaries on the "off diet" time -- no "I leave for vacation tomorrow, so..." or "I just got back from vacation. It really won't matter". I also used the "rules" below (I posted them before I went) to help me make better food choices. We walked a bunch and I stuck to this really well. Feel free to modify, you could always modify to add in a light beer or two... ;) I'm just not much of a drinker. For me it's just better to have a plan of attack prepared...

What great tips!! I love your list - thanks for sharing this! :)

Well....

Off to Walmart! Have a great day!! I am looking forward to seeing how the Friday weight reporting process goes. (Goodness....I really hope I ALWAYS look forward to it... ;) )

Yeah I do the 3 sets on the gym floor. I do 15 that I can do easily, 10 that sorta suck, and 5 I can barely do. We have a 30-min "express" area that has chest, pulldown, row, tricep, bicep, shoulder, leg curl, leg press, and leg extension, with a step in between. I usually do my elliptical and then do that without the step. There is never anyone in there and it makes it a lot quicker since you don't have to move around as much. I also do some hip aduction machines (inverse and regular), chest fly, and sometimes I do some extra triceps w/ free weights (skull crushers, kickbacks) and bicep curls w/ free weights. This is twice a week. I do abs three times a week, the alternating days, usually with machines and a darn dirty ball.

I wish my gym had classes.

Awesome!!! Waistline!

I really like my Dr Scholl's, and I am cheap so I like the price too.

Today is 45 min on the elliptical and crunch day. Sitting up straight right now!

hey there- question, ive been trying to catch up, but whats the benefits of posture/sucking in?? :) Thanks!

Good posture helps make your tummy look flatter... also with overall looking better, more confident. Look at the people that you think are really attractive and you usually won't notice any slumping. Sucking in can help tone your abs without crunches.

I am feeling MUCH better today. Colds mess with my head. Hope everyone is having a GREAT day... T-16 days until WDW time!!! :yay:
