Thank you all for the warm welcome :)

Let's see, a little about myself.....

I live in Indiana, have been married for just over 8 years and have 3 great kids. Two girls, ages 6 & 5 and my little man whose 3. I work part-time with Children with Autism. I love my job, it's very flexible, fun and rewarding. :) When I'm not working life is all about my kids.....and planning my WDW vacation of course ;) I also watch my nieces on days that I don't work, so I tend to keep busy. I enjoy photography, reading, anything outdoors and watching football with my hubby :) That about sums me up!

You will fit in so perfectly here and find you share so much with many.

After studying this pic I think I look like Mrs. Beasley.

And thanks for being so nice everyone. It's hard to believe those things sometimes.

Sweater dresses! Yes I remember. And we would take our IOU sweatshirts, put them on and pull down to our waists and tie the arms like a belt and wear those as skirts. :sad2:

Tim is making me crazy. I just want answers and he's taking forever to call his boss and the lady who offered him this position. His boss is on a plane. Land already!

I just want answers so we can make an intelligent decision here. I have no patience. The DIS is a good distraction.

Oh my! Too funny about the sweater skirts! :rotfl:

I hope you hear something soon!

Good morning. My weight is -1.5

I'm pretty excited about it as I didn't think I'd have a loss but I did an extra mile on the treadmill last night and had a very light dinner. I'm now exactly at the weight I was at when I was diagnosed with cancer 10 months ago. Now I feel like I can actually move forward towards a weight loss that means something to me.

Way to go! That must feel great! :goodvibes

I do have a funny about bug swallowing. We had just left the Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street and found a seat in front of the Plaza. Anyway DD was being a little snot and that is me being nice. There was a bug flying around our ice cream and she lept blowing it away and it would come back. Well she did this several times and the last time she inahled--she got the bug but didn't realize it. She was just looking around to see where the bug went and then realized it was in her mouth. My DS and I laughed so hard until we cried--DH has it all on film---it was priceless.

:rotfl2: That's great!

New hair, new glasses, all that is missing is new body.

Yeah, I'll once again have to check this out when I get home from work. Can't wait to see it! :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome :)

Hey neighbor! :) I am from Illinois, as is Sandy.

So nice to hear a little about you. I am into photography as well. (I'm actually trying to make a job out of it.)

She had curly hair and round glasses! You are MUCH prettier than her!!!

I am abstaining from weigh in this week.
cuz the scale said I gained . 6 of a pound.
and I did NOT!
so until it decides to cooperate, I am not weighing in. :rotfl2:

I know you have to be joking because you don't look anything like Mrs. Beasley. If I wasn't such a chicken, I'd post a picture of myself, and then you'd know how great you look.

Hi Peeps,

I've been pretty quiet lately. Just been dealing with a few things in my work life. It's stressing me out a bit, so I haven't been chatting much, but I've been lurking. :surfweb:

Anyway, I'm a SAMER. Probably has something to do with the MAJOR BINGING I've been doing this past week. :sad2:

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day.

Tomorrow night for the bar? That would work great! And Murphy's is where we went last time. I'll talk to Josh. He's off at 5 tomorrow, and neither of us work on Sunday, so we could both go. That would be FUN! :) Call me!

sorry i'm so late posting today. it's a flyby! i haven't had time to do ANYTHING other than work and reception plan today and i have company coming tomorrow so i have to go clean my house now. i was a samer today anyway so no biggie. hope everyone had pretty numbers!

Good Morning! Do you all have room for one more to join? I hope so!

I am new to posting on the DIS, but I have been reading for weeks now. My family and I are planning our very first WDW vacation so I have been absolutely addicted to reading these boards and learning all that I can!

I have also been trying to lose weight for far too long and have finally decided that this is it. I WILL lose this weight before our big trip! I want to be able to keep up with my children (ages 6, 5 & 3) and not tire out on them while touring the parks. I started exercising and eating right about a week and half ago, and I'm already down 5lbs!!!

I look forward to getting to know you all :)

:welcome: Glad to have you. :flower3:

I used to go through this too. Then I'd play 'Let's Make a Deal' with the numbers in terms of what actually happened. Then I would start to get obsessed about it, in an unhealthy way. So now, this is my 'scale routine':

I weigh myself once a day (and sometimes skip a day or two). I have a digital scale (Sunbeam maybe?) and I keep it in the bathroom on the tile floor. I only weigh myself in the a.m., immediately after getting out of bed and usually in little to no clothing (TMI? I wasn't sure...every ounce makes a difference!). I pull the scale out away from the wall and turn it on, letting it zero out. I step onto the scale, try to be still. Once the number appears, I continue to stand still for another 5-7 seconds, as the numbers tend to adjust up and down a little. Once they seem to stop moving, that's it! That's the number I use. I put the scale away and don't think about it until the next day.

I figure, if nothing else, the way I use the scale is consistent, so my weigh-ins are consistent.

That is definitely a good thing to do. The thing is when I do weigh myself it is always right after waking up, going to the bathroom and in my pj's which is usually just a t-shirt so that weight is consistent. I have a digital scale, I turn it on, wait for the zeros, step on and stand there till the numbers stop moving. Then I get off. Then I do it one more time. 9 times out of 10 the number is the same but today/yesterday it was a crazy difference. But the weight loss I "counted" was the very first weigh from this a.m.

Shannon...My son-in-law had one more class to take and was able to graduate with his class, then go one more semester to finish the last class. He received his diploma after he finished the class, but actually walked with his graduating class. Is that a possibility for you???:confused3 Just a thought.

First of all, with the meanies at my school they probably wouldn't allow this. But it isn't even that I want to walk...heck the actual ceremony isn't until June anyway and I finish everything up in April :confused3 I'm bummed because without my master's degree, I can't get my certification and without all that, I can't get a job. Just stinks. Still have heard nothing. Just gonna wait it out. It's all I can do.

Ok so I didn't finish catching up but I want to watch An American Haunting on ABC Family and its starting now...be back later peeps!

all caught up now!

Punkin...I love Tori Amos. We saw her in a small venue in Loo-uh-vull called The Palace a few years back and she was very good!

it's like no other concert i've ever seen before. just amazing. i've already warned my little brother that there will be NO moshing at a tori concert!

Same Same you know my name, sad because of no loss..happy because of no gain!!

:lmao: i love it! :thumbsup2

I was going to do "It's a Small World" but then I realized that I like all of you and didn't want to put you through that torture! :rotfl2:

thanks for that!

Good Morning! Do you all have room for one more to join? I hope so!

WELCOME!!!!!! you'll love it here. and how exciting.......a first-time WDW trip to plan! :yay:

So, I'm sitting here ready to jump out of my skin with excitement!!! :yay:

I did 36 minuets on the tread mill.

Now I am sore.

But I did it and felt good.

Punkin: Family Affair: It was a show with Buffy, Jodi, Mr. French, Uncle Bill and an older sibling. The uncle raised the kids, French was rhe Butler and Buffy carried a doll she called Mrs. Beasley.

We almost have the same color eyes. Duh!
Sometimes I'm told I have a good sense of humor.:rolleyes1

All my young life everyone told me I looked like Cindy Brady. Even when I was a teen. Especially when I got my braces. Who knows.

Here's a question, who have you been told you look like? Celebrity style.

Whoever told you that AP rates are only good Sun-Thur is misinformed. I have exclusively done Fridays and Saturdays on AP rates... in fact our SSR night in Sept was a Sat, and was $164. If you use your annual pass and login to disneyworld.com/passholder it will give you a super-special 1-800 number to call for AP rate ressies, and you don't even need the codes. You can also make the ressies there but the cancellation policy for internet bookings is fierce(45 day I think) so I usually check the internet then call. The phone booking cancellation is 5 days.

Also, w/ AP rates you can call weekly or even daily for an inventory check, as the CM told me that they release more rooms as it gets closer to checkin. You may also need to tell the CM on the phone to try to book 2 or 3 nights and then cancel the last 2, as sometimes they only release the rooms for 2-3+ night stays (I have had a CM do this for me before).

Hope that helps!

monica - I've never heard of that show - and you do not look like that doll! The only resemblance is pretty blue eyes.

punkin - I haven't seen borat. I'm not sure I'd like it.
and I agree - food network used to be one of my obsessions, but now it's not a good thing. :sad2:

I don't know anything about AP rates.

Here's a question, who have you been told you look like? Celebrity style.

elizabeth shue. as in the chick from "adventures in babysitting", "cocktail" and "leaving las vegas". (that's the only 3 movies i can think of with her in them!) i don't see it AT ALL but i've been told that like 3 or 4 times.

Hi Peeps,

I've been pretty quiet lately. Just been dealing with a few things in my work life. It's stressing me out a bit, so I haven't been chatting much, but I've been lurking. :surfweb:

i meant to say hello earlier. we all lurk sometimes......even me! (i'm usually pretty chatty though!) hope your stress level goes down soon.

thanks! i got that number in my grubby little hand and i've put it in a weekly reminder on my microsoft outlook calendar to call every monday to see what's been released!

borat is very.......different. it's sort of shock value comedy. ray was just flipping channels and started watching it. it's rather unusual.

my dad just called me. he has a problem. he's been seeing this woman for about 3 months now and they're getting along sooooooo well. he's so happy because it's the first decent relationship he's had in 5 years and he can really see it going somewhere. well, this lady's two daughters don't like my dad. they're 21 and 23. i DON'T understand why they don't like him. my dad is really one of the most friendly and genuinely nice people i know (i'm not biased or anything! :rolleyes1 ) honestly it's kinda ticking me off that they don't like my dad. but anyway, this lady talked to them yesterday and told them that she thinks she has strong feelings for my dad and can see their relationship becoming more serious. her oldest daughter is now not speaking to her and demanding that she break up with my dad. dad is really frustrated. he's just at a loss as to what he should do. i told him all he could is just be there for her and not push anything.....her kids are always gonna be her kids and he can't change that. hopefully they'll "see the light" one day and realize that my dad is a great guy and that their mother deserves to be happy. i don't understand how people can be so selfish! any advice as to what he can do to make this situation any better???

Back when Clueless came out, I was told Alicia Silverstone. My hair was longer and all one length. I think I have a picture of me from about that time. Let's see...

There ya go.

Good evening peeps.

Punkin Saw Borat at the theater with DH and DS26. DH is kind of stuffy so I was worried about him but he laughed at certain parts. I about choked in a few parts myself--I loved when the kids come up to the ice cream truck and the bear sticks its head out and roars. Of course, DS26 liked the toilet type humor. DH and I do not like the same kind of movies so it's very difficult for us to watch anything together. Everything else we are pretty in sync after all these years but not on movies.

And any chance you could talk to the girlfriend's daughters. You are closer in age and maybe they would listen to you? It's a tough situation.

Monica When I was in high school, my friends called me Tin Man because they said I looked like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz. So does that count as a celebrity? Should I want it to count as a celebrity? It's not like people had posters of the Tin Man up because he was so good looking. I guess I could have lied and said people think I look like Angelina Jolie. Heck, I could probably pick anything that would be more complimentary than Tin Man.

DH did a cruel thing tonight. He went to Costco and bought Halloween candy. Two huge bags. I haven't thought about chocolate in 2 months but as soon as those bags entered the house, I swear, I can hear them calling my name. I hope I don't sneak out in the middle of the night and eat some hoping DH won't notice. I'm very very afraid. Stupid thing is that we are not going to be home on Halloween night to hand out candy anyway so who is going to eat it now.

Well gots to run. Friday Night Lights is coming on and I'm trying to stick with the show even though it's gotten ridiculous this year. Have a great evening.

Faith
